We have always enjoyed camping, scuba diving and travel... anything outdoors. We made a promise that If ever given the chance to share that joy with others we would and make it a great experience. We have always enjoyed camping, scuba diving and travel... anything outdoors. We made a promise that If ever given the chance to share that joy with others we would and make it a great experience. We searched and searched looked at a lot of properties North of the Woodlands, to build our home. On a Saturday morning, my husband told me about a dream of 3 very tall and Magnificent Trees, soaring way up in the sky. A few days later we were walking through the forest looking at a 20 acre tract of land for sale with our realtor, I'm thinking, "oh how would we ever get this cleared, this is a lot of work" Then, up ahead was a clearing and right in the middle were 3 of the tallest, most magnificent Cedar trees. They were perfectly planted standing side by side. We both looked at each other and said," Oh this must be it". The rest is history. The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)!
Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. No uninvited guests without 24 hour prior approval, and additional guest fees paid. Also please no more than one dog per site.

We have 5 acres available to guests that is surrounded by pastures and forest. There is a creek bordering the property that is dry much of the year and flowing in the spring after heavy rains. There are trails to the creek, and a road along the pastures. Wild blackberries grow along the drive in the spring, beauty berries in the summer, and grapes throughout the property. A great off-grid stay with septic, well water, and solar or generated power.

Within 30-45 min of college station, this was the perfect weekend getaway! Site 22 was spacious and had good hammocking trees! It was very close to the restroom with was a great bonus. We spent the day in the little boats on the lake, and hiking the beautiful trails. Julie was very helpful and kind and brought us firewood along with a visit from the cutest dog! Lots of room to park our cars, the trees blocked the wind very nicely. You can’t go wrong with any site at 5D Ranch!! Already planning another trip sometime soon!

Quietness has a new definition at 5D Ranch! Miles of forest-filled trails with serine camping possibilities everywhere! Julie’s deer is so tame it’s like a family pet. Weather doesn’t matter nearly as much as at other campsites, due to the more firmly-packed sandy access roads.

This is a great primitive camping spot. A lot of room to choose your own campsite, but there are some kind of designated spots that are cleared out. The host is responsive and no nonsense. We've been back several times and will do so again!
