Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

The Byrd's Nest is a river front, primitive campsite on the scenic Cacapon River in Great Cacapon, WV. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or contribute to it! :)
This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out.
There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :)
*Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.

Weekend Trip to A 1000 Miles from Nowhere Cabin
By far THE most enchanting spot I’ve found on HipCamp! Deer, wild turkeys, and the only sounds I heard were birds singing and owls conversing. Bass pond is huge and has plenty of fish. The cabin was impeccably kept with a unique, artful and welcoming decor. .Definitely going back! BOOK IT!!!!!!

2 nights at A 1000 Miles from Nowhere Cabin
Had an amazing time getting away from the city to this wonderful oasis. Host was very helpful and accommodating! You can tell the whole place has thought put into every detail. Had everything you need to get off grid and enjoy nature. Absolutely recommended, can't wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)
Being in a clear house in the woods gives you the feeling of being fully immersed in nature. Having the outhouse, shower, & sink allows you to also feel clean & comfortable. There is electricity & wifi, which is a plus because otherwise we did not get any service. Hosts live on the property & were responsive. We enjoyed the river. Very peaceful.

We love spending time here! Our family has enjoyed four reunions here and my son and I often come on our own or with friends. It is a beautiful, special place and Ralph and his family are the most welcoming hosts I have had the pleasure to meet through Hipcamp

It's an adorable cabin in a very peaceful setting, but not too far from Grand Cacapon or Berkeley Springs. The cabin is clean and well-appointed, although a tad tight with 3 teenagers. Do make sure to pay attention to the instructions and bring trash bags. Its a great "base camp" to go out and explore the local area.

2 nights at Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)
Our time at The Invisible House was exactly what we were hoping for - it was not only peaceful, but we had everything we needed for a restful 3 nights and 4 days. Even though we had planned to spend an evening in Berkeley Springs, we opted to sit by the campfire each night and just be swallowed up in nature! Lorena was a gracious hostess, making sure we were comfortable and sharing their beautiful property with us. What an experience! We would love to visit again!

Weekend Trip to A 1000 Miles from Nowhere Cabin
Really appreciated this simple almost primitive cabin in a time of much needed meditation. Stars, walks, fishing, and nights around a fire. Go around to the back patio and youll find a hammock and fire table. Alot of history and things to check out. Wildlife and much more. If you love being in the wilds and would appreciate electric too. This is the place for you. Generous and attentive host. Hope it stays wonderful and rustic!

2 nights at Carp Cove Farm
The perfect spot to get away from life for a few days and reconnect with nature. The cabin had everything I needed and the land was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely be going back.

This is the best Hipcamp I’ve been to, the ambiance and decor in the cabin was perfect it is secluded no one will bother you here.
Down the road is the lake, caught 4 bass in 15 minutes and chilled in the paddle boat. It’s West Virginia at its finest and the owner is so nice and accommodating!
I’ll definitely be back and will keep in touch.

Pablo & Lorena were amazing! They are so kind, caring, accommodating and helpful. The site was perfect! I took my 93 year old mother and she had the time of her life. She slept better than she has in a long time. The invisible house was so tranquil and the beds were so comfy. Lorena & Pablo’s took the tubes and kayak to the river for us and offered to pick us up down the river. This was a trip she will never forget!

Pablo & Lorena have set up a wonderful oasis in a beautiful part of the WV wilds. They are very welcoming, the cabin has everything you'd need for your stay and more. The heated shower was a nice touch. Everything was clean and ready for us when we got there. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again!

We would 100% recommend staying here! The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was secluded while still being close to all the areas we wanted to explore. It was clean, thoughtfully furnished, and felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. We’d love to come back during the colder months to enjoy the indoor fireplace.
The host was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout our stay. He provided firewood and water, which was greatly appreciated. The bathroom was well-maintained. You may even see a deer walk by as youre doing your business!
If you’re lucky enough to have good weather, the private lake is a huge highlight. The water was warm and small boats were available for guests to use. During our three-night stay, we saw an amazing variety of wildlife. There are also trails nearby for you to walk!
The back porch was one of our favorite spots to relax. If you’re not in the mood to build a fire, there’s a propane fireplace, a hammock, and plenty of comfortable space to unwind. It was the perfect place to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and soak in the quiet surroundings.

We booked this cabin nestled on a vast, beautiful property, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The cabin itself was thoughtfully designed with a whimsical charm that made the entire stay feel magical and cozy. The surrounding land was incredible — expansive trails winding through untouched flora and fauna, leading to peaceful streams and giving the whole place the feel of a private national park. One of the highlights was being able to explore it all with our dog, which made the experience even more special.
Our host was exceptionally gracious, communicative, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We truly felt fortunate to experience such a peaceful and unique getaway, and we’re already looking forward to returning again soon!

The pictures for the biker’s den don’t do the space justice. Such a wonderful time. The hosts are gracious and accommodating. If I find myself in western MD again I’ll be sure to book my weekend here.

The lodge was great for a mixed aged group and was well stocked for a place tucked in the woods. That said, some of the kids were not used to being surrounded by so much nature and had issues adjusting to sharing space with bugs. So maybe talk to them about the difference between hotels in a city and lodges in the woods. ;-)

We had a wonderful experience staying at The Lodge at Opequon. The environment was peaceful, family-friendly, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy time outdoors.
It’s a great spot for families and anyone looking for a calm and refreshing camping experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to friends and others looking for a memorable camping getaway.

We loved our stay! It was nice and secluded. We loved cooking on the campfire grill/tripod. The electric blanket worked great on the cold nights. Pablo and Lorena were quick to respond with any questions or issues. They respected our privacy. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a great camping experience. The campsite was clean, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The atmosphere was relaxing, and it was a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and enjoyable camping getaway.
