It's the ideal getaway if you want to explore Fahnestock, check out neighboring Cold Spring, Beacon, Peekskill, or just want to hang out at the site and read/relax by a campfire. We're only 1.5 miles from a SECRET entrance to Fahnestock and the trailhead to Candlewood Hill, one of the park's most exquisite views.. Just 2.5 miles away is a main parking lot and the hub for several other hiking trails including Catfish Loop, Three Lakes, Old Mine Railroad and the famed Appalachian Trail. We can provide you with a trail map and help plan your hike. Swimming at Canopus Lake is only 7 miles away. Other Fahenstock activities include fishing, boat rentals, biking, and snowshoeing/x-country skiing in the winter. Meadow Ridge Farm is a 110-acre working dairy farm. But don't be misled, the campsite is very secluded, located over a quarter a mile away from anything. You will get to the campsite by driving down the gravel road past corn fields, pastures and cows, too. The area has so much to offer, including award-winning restaurants, some of the most beautiful hiking trails, wineries, a distillery, and local farmers markets. Three miles away the town green offers shops, historical tours and restaurants. White Memorial Foundation is a 4000-acre nature preserve 4 miles away with over 40 miles of trails and so much more! Fresh raw milk, local eggs, and maple syrup are available on site for purchase. We provide ample fire wood for your campsite so you have one less thing to pack! But don't forget to turn it off after you're finished, as it will stay on unnecessarily. It's also important to know that when you use the toilet, only use toilet paper, as it's specially designed for this type of RV and won't cause blockages. Smoking is prohibited inside this property; if smoke is found, an extra cleaning fee will be charged. This is also an ideal space to relax and work remotely, as it has an independent antenna to provide internet access to the entire unit and all the electronic equipment you need. I will ensure the unit is delivered to you with all its accessories in working order so you won't have any problems. I always suggest guests ask any necessary questions so they can use it without any issues. On the day of arrival, you will receive another message to refresh your knowledge of how to use the campervan. Close to the beach and sand, the city offers activities nearby so you won't have to go far to enjoy them. This campervan has all the qualities of a house, with the only difference being that you're on wheels—something truly delightful. I have two bicycles so you can take a ride along the bike path on the beach and enjoy the majestic scenery. A different way to have fun and experience something new. Our small little Homestead is located in the Walden, Wallkill area. This is not deep camping, but we are surrounded by woods on three sides. You will be in a rolling meadow sometimes full of flowers!!! It’ll be a nice getaway for a family of 5. If your family is larger, you can share bunks depending on weight or even bring a tent. We have animals wandering around, so if animals are an issue, please consider this. Our Sheep are very friendly, and sometimes our chickens will come around too. We also have fish in the pond which can be fed, but please no fishing without prior permission. You can also swim in the pond if you like, but please do not wear sunscreen or any other types of perfumes and bug sprays that can harm the fish. You might feel a nibble or two, but that’s just them saying hello. We are located in the Hudson Valley, and near just about all the wineries, breweries and distilleries. Many restaurants and hiking trails are within 15 minutes. The gunks mountains are about 20 minutes away. I would consider our small site a place to just get away and be away from the crowd. We are close to homes, but you will probably not see any while on site. The roadway is private as well, so you’ll have your own entrance with a serial lock. We hope you enjoy our site as much as we do and we hope you enjoy our camper. We will do our best to help and make you feel comfortable. Please bring your own sheets, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, towels, washcloths, soaps, and shampoos, and any other hygiene products you need. We will have a fire pit and you are welcome to bring your own Firewood, or purchase. We also have fresh eggs and seasonal vegetables available fried sale. They are for sale. We are campers ourselves, so we believe that this location is special and unique. I hope you can share in the memories and enjoy! We will have a charcoal grill on site just bring your charcoal. We will continue to update this site to make it as comfortable as possible. There is a fridge, microwave, and stove with basic utensils and cookware. Water for showering, using the bathroom and washing the dishes. Slightly glamping, but still camping. Come experience 152 acres of preserved forest in the beautiful Highlands Region of northern New Jersey. Our nonprofit nature center has a rich history and offers events rooted in arts, education, and recreation. We have four rustic cabins with electricity available for overnight stays of 1–7 nights. A mountain stream runs through the property, and there are plenty of casual outdoor seating areas to relax in. There is also a large recreation field and private trails to explore during your stay with us. Our property borders Norvin Green State Forest, which offers miles of hiking trails, including 360-degree views from Wyanokie High Point. The Highlands Natural Pool is also adjacent to our property, featuring a spring-fed, Olympic-sized swimming pool open from Memorial Day through the end of September.

Weekend Trip to Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'

This is a very beautiful campsite that is very accessible and a perfect experience for first time campers or anybody who just wants a relaxing getaway. There is a lovely trail up to the tent site, which is removed from the house and the road just enough to feel like you are out in the wild on your own. The tent itself is very comfortable filled with amenities. It’s like staying in a little hotel room. They have everything you need for camping. They even have a pretty fancy outhouse and shower situation. We didn’t get to visit the goats, but that was only because it was raining. I highly recommend this camping experience.!

1 night at Hidden Gem Glamp

Our experience at Heron on the Hill Glamping was incredible. The entire space is extremely charming, very well outfitted, and extremely welcoming. Activities abound! The host, Michelle, is extremely communicative, friendly, professional, and helpful both before our trip and during! There's plenty to do for the entire family, the tents were cozy, and for all of the camping necessities, they're taken up many notches to facilitate a more comfortable camping-experience (heated shower? Flushing porta-potties? Where else do you get that, right?) We'll be back :)

Weekend Trip to Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'

I took the train from NYC Grand Central and got to Evan and Laura’s by a quick Uber ride! It was so lovely, comfortable, everything provided. They were fabulous hosts and super accessible when needed. It was the perfect getaway from the city, very much separate and in the woods while not feeling too isolated, close to water, hiking. I actually walked/hiked back to the train and even the road itself is a beautiful journey. Everything was easy and I would highly recommend staying here!

1 night at Serene Shoreline Retreat Farm House

I was so warmly welcomed upon arrival to Dr. Ivette's healing farm sanctuary. She kindly took the time showing me around the farm because I told her that I work with farmers! It's a beautiful and inclusive place and I will absolutely stay here again. Her communication was excellent, the place had everything i could have needed. Thank you!

I took this trip with my adult son and I was as tranquil and a bounty of wildlife. The sunsets are great and you’re perch on a hill overlooking a lake so quite scenic. If you want to totally disconnect be at peace and rough it a little this is the place for you. There is a a generator for light, heat and a refrigerator. We took our own portable compost and a small rinse king system to wash up.. Cooking outside was a thrill for my son as well, we gather wood from the surroundings. Konsztantine was very responsive and quite hospitable. Quick responses to whatever we asked. Best in class host. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We loved staying Cabanita. It was exactly what we were looking for and has all the essential amenities you’ll need. The shower worked great, and the WiFi was so good that we were even able to bring an Xbox and play online without any lags. 10/10 would recommend!

Evan & Laura have an amazing set up. They had great communication during our stay and in the week leading up. They checked in to see if we needed anything prior, including the propane heater, which in 30-something degree weather was an essential and extremely helpful. The site truly had anything you could ever need. We were extremely impressed and surprised by the outhouse with toilet, shower, and usb-c chargers(!) inside. Reading reviews beforehand were helpful and led us to pack lighter, given the steep climb up. But the climb was definitely worth it. We also loved how Evan showed us how the goats and chickens were fed. My pup definitely loved running up and down the hill to the site and marveled (sometimes a little too much lol) at the goats and chickens she was seeing for the first time! Evan was both kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

Our night in the Tipi was such an amazing and unique experience. Cold weather ruined our original camping trip and I was able to book Lauren’s Tipi pretty much last minute. It was so comfy, and furnished perfectly. She had fresh water, wood, fire starters, blankets, chairs, everything we could possibly need. Even the composting toilet was welcoming. No complaints here, except for the cloudy skies. Thanks again!

We loved staying at this property! We enjoyed playing cards by the beautiful creek and taking walks on the property. It was a short drive from longer hikes, such as Fahnestock State Park, which we took advantage of. Bill and Stephen were really helpful in making sure we had everything we needed.
