.The cabin at Sweetgrass Homestead is beautiful, eco friendly and artistically designed space perfect for a romantic getaway or healing retreat.
We use only non-toxic and organic cleaning materials and natural fibers. Cotton, linen, flax etc for bedding and blankets.
The land is a beautiful mix of old growth Oak, Madrone and Pine, with open meadows, fruit trees and an abundant and lush vegetable and medicinal herb garden.
The cabin is a stand alone structure with a separate parking and pathway entrance. Its relatively close to the main house but private feeling with fruit trees and rose & lilac bushes as space holder for its own lil yard- we are visioning adding more privacy and living fence coming soon. The outdoor shower and soaking tub is designed with a fusion of PNW & Japanese simplicity in mind. Its divine to take a soak when its raining and listen to the drops fall on the roof over head. The wrap around deck and front porch are supported with trees harvested and peeled on the property. There is a shared beautiful composting toilet near the temple, just a 10 sec walk away. This system used here breaks down waste that turns into fertile and rich compost in a couple years that is used for tree planting and other projects on the farm. This is a dry waste system, meaning we encourage minimal liquid in put, there are many private places in the forest and around the cabin to pee on the earth.
The land is home to me (Stella), Yara the wolfpup, Kava the maine coon cat, a gaggle of chickens, and most likely a work trader or two living here and learning about farming/homesteading. Sometimes its really quiet and you may not see any of us and sometimes we are bustling around working on projects or enjoying meals together in the backyard.
This is a healthy, holistic and very kid friendly environment.
There is a yurt temple space dedicated to meditation, healing arts and yoga. You are welcome to use the space during your stay. More details on the space will be provided with an info booklet upon check in. Please read thoroughly. If you would like to book a session with one of the many healing arts practitioners during your stay just let me know. There are an abundance of massage therapists, reiki, craniosacral, herbalist, and yoga/meditation instructors in the valley.
