Our 27' 1973 Airstream Overlander has been completely refurbished with lots of love and attention to detail. The outdoor space is a chill zone full of native plants, trees, flowers and an 8 ft. barrel sauna! This space is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet place to land while they explore the city and/or endless nature in the surrounding areas - Forest Park, Mt Hood, The Columbia Rive Gorge, and the coast! We are biking distance to several fabulous neighborhoods and restaurants along with tons of hiking opportunities in Forest Park, Columbia Slough trail, Mt Tabor and more. We have 2 bikes available for you to use during your stay!ART CAN* is an artfully remodeled 27ft. 1973 Airstream Overlander located in the heart of NE Portland Oregon. Nestled in a lovely private yard with lots of plants, giant trees and a 8' barrel sauna with adjacent shower and composting toilet. Walking distance to a diverse selection of food and shops in the Alberta Arts district, Vancouver/Williams Corridor and Mississippi Ave. Tons of biking/walking/hiking/nature opportunities nearby - Forest Park, Columbia Slough Trail, Mt Tabor, Mt Hood, and the Columbia River Gorge to name a few! Bonus: are 2 blocks from the King Farmers Market which happens 10-2 every Sunday. Walking distance to the Co-op and Natural Grocers! We also have 2 bikes for you to use free of charge! The private space is an open yet cozy space. Comfy couch, desk area, kitchen table, blue flame heater, and 1 extra long queen bed (7.5' for all you tall folx!) Kitchenette includes 2 burner propane Wolf stove, eco-sink (drains to raised bio-swale garden in front), fridge, freezer, cook/dish ware, coffee maker, water filter. The sauna, shower and composting toilet are just steps away from the trailer. Towels are provided! The outside area is a secluded, minimally shared space. The ART CAN has it's own deck with couch, table and chairs and grill. 2 bikes are available for use! Lots of plants, trees and bird watching. You are welcome to use the solo stove fire pit if a burn ban isn't in effect. House residents use the upper porch/deck attached to the house. DIVERSITY IS OUR PRIORITY! *NOTE: This space is not suitable for young children, therefore we require that all guests on a booking be aged 7 years or older. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Oasis in Portland

We really enjoyed our stay in the Art Can as well as Portland overall! Ginos place is in a great part of town with convenience to tons of amazing food (LOTS of vegetarian choices nearby!), activities, and shopping. The camper had everything we needed for a very comfortable long weekend. The hot outdoor(ish) shower was my absolute favorite part of winding down in the evenings. 10/10- would stay again!

The best

This fun and funky place is perfect! It’s roomy and comfortable and the host really pays attention to the details. The facilities are great and the outdoor space is a perfect little private place to relax. We have definitely found our place to stay when we come to Portland. Thank you Gino!

Just Beautiful!!! So Cozy 🥰🌲

The Art Can was the cutest Airstream. Every detail is well thought out and gives you the vibes of what Air BnB is supposed to be like and what it was like when it first started. The Art Can has so many adorable details and you can feel all the love that was put into the Airstream, the sauna, the shower and the restroom facility. The Sauna worked flawlessly, its get hot! It’s under a beautiful tree and a water bucket to pour over the coals is provided as are a few other cute things to pass your time comfortably like Turkish towels. The outdoor shower is very large and beautiful with stained glass and its own mirror and sink. The outdoor toilet is a compost toilet and very clean. You’ll get the hang of it! The seating are and garden is just lovely. My wife took two naps out the outdoor couch, it was amazing. Location is great, you can see the art can from the road. Parking was easy on street. Gino is soooooo sweet! Could not have a better host or place to stay in Portland ❤️

We loved staying at Gino's place. She was an extremely accommodating host and we felt more than welcome at the Art Can. Everything was amazing, super clean and the Sauna was the perfect way to wind down at night. We had such an amazing stay at the ART CAN! It was beautiful and retro and kitschy and cozy. We found like 8 different spots to curl up with a book. The outdoor shower was literally my best-ever shower experience. I would love to come back with my partner but would also absolutely book a solo week for rest and creativity. There are loads of walkable restaurants, shop, hip little streets - everything. I had never stayed on the east side of Portland before, but this visit had me Redfin-ing the neighborhoods and dreaming of living there. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!!

ART CAN is the place to be!

I loved my stay at the ART CAN! I only have positive things to say :) The yard/land is beautiful. The composting toilet was tidy and the shower was perfect - nice and hot. Plus the sauna was amazing and was a great way to wind down in the evenings. Wifi worked really well too. The airstream was complete with thoughtful details ~ a choice selection of records to play on the turntable and cute decor. It’s also located in a sweet are of town, close to fun bars, restaurants, and shops. Check in and check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. I’m already looking forward to coming back. Show out to Gino for being a wonderful host!

Artsy Nature Haven

The best place we have ever stayed! A cozy environment with beautiful colors, art, and greenery. Each morning I awoke happy and refreshed, ready to enjoy the sauna and array of music on the record player. The shower is delightful and gives a beautiful view of a Cedar through its window. Walking/biking distance to many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The Air Stream is perfect for lounging the day as way too! Thank you Gino for curating a beautiful welcoming space!

Convenient, Bright, Restful

The convenient proximity to Moda Center and NE Portland venues was just what we needed. We so much enjoyed coffee, reading, and talking in the comfort and seclusion (in contrast to a hotel) of the outdoor space as well as inside the Art Can. Fabulous bright, uplifting original decor! The shower was my favorite: providing the clean comfort of an indoor shower but with the feel of open, roomy showering outdoors! The well-kept sauna was a big bonus for my maxed out nervous system. Thank you for sharing your comfy, conscientious, well-built space, Gino! 💫

A great time.

My stay at the ArtCAN was a dream. It feels like an oasis in the heart of the city. Easily accessible restaurants, stores, etc. and lots to do in the area. Very safe neighborhood from what I gathered, and lots of friendly people. Gino was a great host, would definitely return.

The best stay in Portland

ARTCAN was an absolutely dream! Every last detail was thoughtful, intentional and functional. We loved our stay, felt super safe and it had such a unique and fun vibe. The outdoor and indoor spaces were so nice to have before a day out and upon coming “home”. The neighbor hood was also ideal- walking distance to so so many shops and amazing eats!

Made a Detroiter feel at home

I'm a newby to hipcamp. The ArtCan was perfect for me. You gotta appreciative all the details Gino added as a thoughtful host. The Carl Jung classic, a 45 of Miles Davis, and crafty guest book all won me over. I had a bag mixup and got some help from Gino dealing with Frontier. The cedar wood shower in the mornings was probably the most refreshing shower I had. I will be back if I'm in Portland again.

Nice job Gino

Gino’s place is awesome! The art can and the surrounding yard felt like an oasis. Gino was so down to earth and helped me out in a bind. Check in/check out was painless. Sauna worked. Street parking was easy. The location is great for walking to sunday market or any restaurants on alberta. The whole vibe was both relaxing and inspiring. I’m tempted to stay here again when I’m in back in portland.
