Maple Shade Farm sits on an idyllic 60-acre property adjoining roughly 1,200 permanently preserved acres of mixed farmland and forests known as St. Michael’s Farm Preserve. Our farm is home to a variety of farm animals, including horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and honeybees. We offer English riding instruction suitable for riders of all skill levels, including adults and kids (ages 2+), western trail rides for individuals and couples, and opportunities for short guided "meet and greets" with the farm animals. The land is also beautiful and relaxing and surprisingly private given the short walk into town! Stay here and enjoy the sounds of nature, meet the animals, and get a feel for life on a farm or explore local towns, grab a bite to eat, and head back for a campfire in the evening. We have a little something for everyone. :)The “Down Under” site is actually a large open field (about 10 acres) that’s absolutely perfect for larger groups and multi-family camps. It overlooks St. Michael's Farm Preserve and one of our horse pastures.

We had a small birthday party for my son here and couldn’t have been happier. The farm is lovely and Chris was an excellent host. We plan on coming back in the spring for camping.

Only had time for a brief stay but appreciated that Chris’ land was beautiful, the sites well maintained, the directions clear, and getting to see the animals! The town is close by and has cute places to eat and try out. Would love to camp again when it’s drier to explore the nature preserve as well!

Great site

Wide open space. Chris was very responsive and helped us book a last minute riding lesson. Site was located within an easy walk to local shops. Also firewood was top tier def worth the purchase over the store brought.

Lovely Farm Space - Relaxing!

Beautiful space. Goats and pigs are super friendly and love to be pet! Farm is in a residential area and walking distance to restaurants, so you are not in the middle of nowhere (pro or con, depending). Was very quiet at night and lovely at sunrise. Free wood provided, but I didn't use it. Basic porta-potty, but clean. I didn't do any add-ons and just walked around the farm and the nearby preserve. Will return!

Second time was perfect

Second time to Maple Shade Farm, site 1. Beautiful property and wonderful trip. Serene and peaceful. Chris makes you feel at home and is there if you need anything. A perfect trip!
