Kia'i means protector in Hawaiian. We see ourselves as stewards to this high vibrational ancient Hawaiian land. Our aim is to aloha her. Love her and respect her. Working with the land. We converted a shed to a Tiny Hale (home) with a fun modern vibe at the base of the stunning Ka'ala mountains. As builders and designers we played with recycled materials and collected to create a playful, cozy, modern farm design for this tiny home. Sleep on the north shore of Oahu on a 5 acre farm in the Guava and Chico orchard amongst the chickens and chirping birds. Our food farm has an array of fruit. We grow chico, ulu, taro, mango, citrus, banana, guava, flowers and much more. Step out your back door and find out growing planter bed garden area. She's a work in progress on our working farm. Walk through the orchard where you stumble on to our hidden expansive open field surrounded by fruit trees. To the left of the field we have a relaxing oasis with a large deck under the trees. Downshift on our large lawn deck and lounge with views of Mount Ka'ala and the field Birds, butterflies surround you. Enjoy a lounge chair, daybed or hammock under the Kukui Trees. The views of our partners Balinese temple is a beautiful view from our deck. Stay on the famous 7 mile miracle surf stretch, 2 minutes from historic Haleiwa town, 7 minutes to Ali'i Beach park, 35 minutes from the Honolulu International airport, You will have all the necessities with a flushing toilet, full refrigerator, kitchenette, wifi and a washer/dryer. E komo Mai. IMPORTANT NOTE- Farm is ALL SOLAR powered. Downshift into farm life. The solar cant do heating elements. So please NO hair dryers, curling irons, heating blankets, noise machines, anything that must be plugged in over night. These things will blow the system for all people and make the internet go out. See it as simple farm living. Solar can handle the ceiling fans, refrigerators, lights, and phones plugged in over night. Refrain from anything additional. And be mindful of leaving lights and fans on when not using them. BUT we love it. Itʻs a way of life. Living with the land. Mahalo!

Short stay long lasting
Nicci’s place is an awesome way to experience comfort enclosed in a beautiful farm refuge. The interior is nicely designed and smartly equipped, we loved the peaceful surrounding. If we have the chance we will definitely come back.

We had a great time staying here! The scenery was beautiful as were the various cats, birds and dog on the surrounding farm! Would definitely recommend if visiting the North Shore.

Beautiful property, lots of animals and generally quiet apart from the roosters/chickens with their predictable wake up calls which we enjoyed! The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and well decorated. A few larger insects were noted but likely part of the landscape/off grid living. Lost power due to shared solar grid on one occasion; the host was very responsive and acted to help resolve the issue. Overall excellent stay :)

This was such a peaceful and beautifully built little spot to be on the north shore! The spot feels private and nestled in - loved drinking coffee under the fruit trees in the morning. The place is clean and cozy. I'm an early riser and didn't mind the am farm noises. Nicci was off island when we were there but quick and responsive to the couple questions that came up during our stay. Overall great communication and directions. Would return for sure :)

Great Stay
Great spot to stay in North Shore, just a short drive into down. Easy access to property with 2 wheel drive with great directions from host. The unit was well equipped, comfortable bed with plenty of fresh towels. Nicci was an amazing host, very approachable. Not a problem for us but work on the farm started about 0745 in the morning so there was some noise. Would happily visit again.

Great place to stay!
Our stay at the cozy shack for two nights was wonderful. The accommodation was well-equipped with fresh bedding, a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of clean towels. Nicci was an exceptional host, sharing fascinating details about her farm, which we had the opportunity to explore and learn about the various crops being cultivated. The location is ideal for accessing the North Shore of O'ahu, with close proximity to both the city and beautiful beaches. We highly recommend this property and will certainly stay here again on our next visit to Hawaii.
