Best in Hawaii: Finalist
Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. You are welcome to explore the grounds and enjoy the land. Chickens roam freely, with the occasional pig sightings in the evening. We do have a fair bit of bugs and geckos. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, this might not be the place for you! Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. There are so many great beach and land activities nearby, and I'm happy to lead you in the direction of whatever you might be interested in! We are very protective of this land and town, but would love to share the space with respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. This is a working farm. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Thank you for looking!

Orchard Wall Tent
I recommend it for a short stay. It's a very nice experience, but you should know that it's on a farm so there are chickens and roosters everywhere. It's not a problem until the night comes and all the roosters in the neighbourhood scream every 15 minutes for hours. Otherwise the tent is perfect and well equipped. The views were beautiful and directions were clear.

Orchard Wall Tent
The nature was beautiful. Loved it. Just power was gone at middle of night and didn’t come back at all till we leave. It got super hot, couldn’t get light in the tent and couldn’t charge anything of course. I hope they make sure that there is power in the tent all the time, or at least the power station is able to charge by itself for the next guest. Otherwise more than $200 which I paired for this stay is too expensive. The remote of the front porch didn’t work as well.

Car Camping Site
Peaceful timed.
We really enjoyed the time spent at Palaka Moon Farm. The sheer green cliff faces to the south were beautiful to look at each day. Restaurants, groceries, and the beach at Kailua were quite close. It was very quiet, with only the sounds of birds, the small stream, and the chickens that run wild at the farm, to be heard. The facilities were all kept tidy and clean. Being in a campervan, it was great to have a hot shower to wash off the miles. I do / would rate this camp-site highly. I highly recommend this sight for campers that want some peace and quiet on their trip.

Host was well organized and replied fast. Nice clean bathroom and space to eat under the barn. Would be nice to have a little fridge and simple kitchen utensils for use to add value for the price per night.
