Perry Farm

Peaceful, safe location. I stayed here for 5 nights. It's up in a quiet valley on the windward side of the island. I originally was going to stay in a tent, but saw a huge storm was coming while I was there. So I rented a van instead and I'm very glad I did! It's a very wet part of the island, and the camping field was saturated. But with good shelter, I was fine and slept well. Very quiet, peaceful and safe. I was traveling as a single woman and felt totally fine. I didn't interact with anyone while there; I got in late at night, so Steve told me how to open the gate, and I let myself in and out everyday. Sometimes in the pouring rain! But it's Hawaii and so warm, it's fine. My only complaint is that there are 3 bright lights on the outside of a large workshop building near the camping area. Those affected my sleep, and was a bummer to have light pollution like that while camping in Hawaii. But, I put fabric over my eyes and slept fine.

Didn’t Meet the Hype

We read raving reviews about how welcoming the host was however we were disappointed with our experience. We messaged and texted upon our arrival, waiting for instruction and an overview of the amenities and ended up waiting in our vehicle for over 30 minutes before we got a response . When we finally did , there wasn’t even a welcoming greeting just vague directions and no information about where things are located . Seems Steve was too wrapped up in the Super Bowl party he was hosting (in fairness he did invite us to join the party.. ) that was loud and disruptive and didn’t leave us with a peaceful stay that we were imagining .

We stayed at Steve’s campground for whole our trip on Oahu and had a wonderful experience. The site was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. All the facilities were available and in great working condition — from clean restrooms and showers to water and electricity hookups. Steve was friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature without sacrificing comfort. We’d definitely come back and recommend it to others looking for a peaceful and well-equipped camping spot!

Overall, we had a good experience and the host was very welcoming and helpful. However, it gets very loud at night (not only are chickens making noise). Also, the ground is very muddy when it rains. The views on the mountains from the locations are breathtaking and it is overall worth the money.

Flat location with lots of space and nicely manicured with multiple outdoor seating options! Hosts were accommodating and happy to lend a hand when we ran into vehicle issues the night before our flight. Would recommend 👍

Cute little spot nested in the mountains. Close to the ocean for surfing, hiking, sailing and diving. Great local restaurants and a grocery store near by. Steve was very responsive. Would recommend if you need a nice spot to crash after a day of adventures!

The actual site for camping (we tented) was nice and shady. Thats facilities were dirty, smelled bad (porto-potty), sinks were clogged. Host had a party one night till 2AM, less than desirable. The wasn't a covered area to cook, which would've been nice (it rained in the evening into morning). Overall I wish I had stayed somewhere else, but it was a place to crash at night, But again a party disrupted that one night. I wouldnt recommend this site.

One of the best camping experiences I’ve ever had. The location was breathtaking but most importantly Steve and his family were the best hosts. Truly went above and beyond and made our experience memorable. Camp site feels very safe and has all needed amenities. Thanks so much for a great time :)

I had a really great time one Hawaii. And one main reson was for shoure Steve. He was just so suportiv and helpted when ever it was needed. In generell Steve and his famiie are realy friendly and cool. For the campsite you can expect an really chilled, save and silent place. But it never gets boring because there is always somthing going one at Steves nice location. I was there with just a tent, but it was no Problem for me to get around because there was a busstation at the seven eleven like 15 min walking from the campsite. Also a nice beach park and 2 foodtrucks are around there. So if you looking fore a chilled place and if you are interested in getting contact with some locals, this is youre site.

Real Hawaii!

Steve and the crew at Perry Farm are unreal! They’ve set up a nice space for your camp while farming operations continue. It is short walk through the farm lands to town and other hikes. We got a glimpse of the real Hawaii and the kind nature of country life! I wish we stayed longer and joined in for the festivities! Thank you for your hospitality and mateship!!
