This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Peaceful breezes and warming sun make for unparalleled tranquility. Today the land still gives back to its visitors. Come recharge. As this is agricultural lands, there are many critters. Dogs, chickens, pheasants, peacock, mongoose, and many birds. Tge invasive coqui frog is annoying to some and calming to others. The micro climate here swings from warm and dry to wet quickly. Best to always prepare for rain. There is snorkeling, beaches, local food, Cafe, BBQ, poke, fish-n-chips, grocery, Sunday farmers market and hiking nearby. It is peaceful here, but also an active farming community. As an organic farm, we put alot of effort into soil building and as such, there are soft places that will be damaged by the weight of a vehicle. Staying on the driveway is best. We will guide you to where you need to go. Our road is paved, but bumpy. Any vehicle will make it without damage if driven slowly. 1 to 4mph tops. *Be sure to avoid the camper rental companies that restrict certain roads. Aloha and have a great day.

Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. We are nestled in the midst of a mini-Rainbow Eucalyptus Rainforest, with native Ohia trees sparsely located throughout our property. Hapu'u Ferns are also within our mini-Rainbow Eucalyptus Rainforest. Enjoy the stunning 90 - 100 degree ocean views of Hawaii Island's Western Coastline, as well as the new Volcanic Vent (Known as Fissure 8) created by the 2018 Eruption of the Kileaua Volcano. The Hawaii Volcano National Park (HVNP) is a 14 mile or 20 minute drive from our campsite. HVNP has a visitor's center to get information about the park, hiking trails throughout its boundaries, steam vents and the awe-inspiring caldera, which is the location of the volcano's lava pool. At night, the glow from the lava in the caldera can be seen at the park. Our campsite is also an 18 mile or 29 minute drive from the Hilo International Airport and the town of Hilo, Hawaii.

Also, we often have visits from wild pigs that come down from the mountain, so you may see them as well. We stayed at both of Mae’s campsites for a week, and it was an amazing experience. The sites are thoughtfully equipped with hot showers, flush toilets, a sink, a sun/rain dome, a propane stove, and a campfire—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had planned to explore so much of the Big Island, but the campsite was so peaceful and nourishing that I often just wanted to stay there all day and do nothing. Mae is a wonderful host and such an interesting person to chat with. She welcomed us for morning tea and coffee and even shared delicious fruits from her farm. I would absolutely stay here again on my next visit to the Big Island. Highly recommended.

This camp was super fantastic. Our Host Mae was very caring for us (Malama ) and came to welcome us warmly when we arrive. The site was extraordinary with more than 2 acres just for us with a little lake , a place to play volleyball , a place to play balloon on a pole , and even a disc golf course that we could use with the disks furnished by the host!!! ..the restroom where the cleanest that I ever seen with , not one , but two showers and two restrooms And the showers were present with hot water. Everything was so clean. I could not believe it !! And the land: I thought for a moment that I was camping on a par 3 of Pebble Beach California !!! in supplement we had the right to pick up fruits from trees: Lemons, limes, oranges, finger, lemons, tangerines, and others !! We even had a very nice dog name Knob! That came and welcome us, and was really great with us!! In all, this was the best IPC experience that we ever had up to now! Thanks Mae! Jeff and Suzan

My friends and I had a wonderful time here, there is a kitchenette area with a large sink with running water, picnic tables, and a fire pit that we used to make hot dogs and smores. There’s also a porcelain toilet and shower with hot water, so this site has great amenities for camping but still staying comfortable. Perfect for our island camping staycation.

We loved our stay at Chris and Esther’s place! It was the perfect location—so close to Volcanoes National Park—and incredibly peaceful. Falling asleep to the sound of frogs at night was a unique experience for me. The space had everything we needed for a comfortable night’s sleep--we wish we’d had more time to stay longer. I loved that they gave us duck food so we could feed the ducks when we woke up. Their directions were clear, communication was easy, and everything felt welcoming and well thought-out.

Arrived at the cabin an hour before sunset and it stared to rain. We were meet by our host Gabriel and Amy.They were very nice and welcomed us to the cabin. We parked on the bottom of a hill that had stairs that led to the Cloud haven cabin. Got to the top and explored the three buildings . The bathroom ,the kitchen and the octagon cabin. Bathroom was clean and welll lit with solar lights and outdoor lighting. A flushing toilet and shower was a plus. We got to experience a moonlit hot shower on the two nights there. The kitchen had everything you could need to make meals. They had a cooler for drinks and foods that needed to be chilled. It was our small little Cafe. The octagon cabin was clean and Spacious. The windows where big and let in a lot of cool air in.The bed was simple and comfortable. The Views from the cabin were amazing. We really enjoyed our time there and spent most of it at the cabin. If you're looking to get away and relax this is the place. We would definitely come back again. Couple things I would bring the next time Bug spray Another set of slippers More pillows. When booking this cabin add the 1 hour Swedish massage . It left us relaxed and rejuvenated.

A lovely site. The view and location is fantastic. Directions are clear, I recommend arriving during the day at first but then it’s simple to find. The nearby boxing can bother some people but it didn’t bother me at all as they keep to themselves. I didn’t experience hot water but that’s understandable, overall I’d stay again and would recommend it

Sleep under the stars on the slopes of the world’s largest active volcano, Mauna Loa. Located at 3700’ on a 250 year old lava flow, enjoy camping in a native forested lot that is accessible by 2WD vehicle. This is a great base location to enjoy activities on the south side of Big Island, including Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, Papakolea (Green Sand Beach), Punalu’u (Black Sand Beach), and Ka Lae (South Point). Break up your island wide cruise and spend more time in scenic Ka’ū, one of the last bastions of old Hawai’i. Mutiny Farms is 100% off-grid. There is currently no power available at either site. You will need to bring flashlights and rechargeable battery packs if you require any portable power. The property is about a 15 minute drive to Ocean View town center, and about an hour to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Welcome to Edenova! We are a 2 year old food forest/ sustainable farm located in Mountain View, Hawai'i at 1800ft. So far we have about 25 fruit trees growing along with a vegetable bed, herbs, and numerous flowers and ornamentals. Guests are welcome to any food growing that is ready to harvest. Incredible amounts of love has been poured into this land and there's an infinite amount more to come. We are located within a 20-25 minute drive from Volcanoes National Park. Two of the best restaurants on the island (Wyatt's Place and Da Beans Greens Cafe) are located within a 12 minute drive, and the Mountain View post office and water spigots are located within a 8 minute drive. This is an ideal site for car campers and vanlifers. You are welcome to bring your own tent and pitch it anywhere on the open grass area as well. We have an outdoor kitchen with a 2 burner stove, fridge, copper drinking water container, and a 250 gallon water tank for washing dishes. We have a professionally built outhouse style Humanure Composting toilet. We are less than 200 feet from the paved road so any vehicle will be able to drive straight onto the land. The land is located in a very safe part of the neighborhood with great neighbors closeby (but not too close)!

Aloha and welcome to Silver Oak Sunsets, a 5 acre agriculture farm and family plot situated in the Kona Coffee Belt on the western slopes of Hualalai Mountain in Kona, Hawai'i. With great stargazing opportunities, the camping area where is located on the top two acres of the property at 2000ft elevation above sea level. This area is an open grassy (mowed) area surrounded with avocado, kukui nut and silver oak trees. This area boasts some of the best ocean, coastline, and sunset views in Kona! The bottom 3 acres are where my family and I reside. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from Kona International Airport, 15 minutes to the beach, 5 minutes to the nearest golf course, gas station, and grocery store, Silver Oak Sunsets campsite is secluded yet close to everything Kona. Our seasonal changes are mild compared to the continental US. Summer months (May-September) are warmer and with more rain and the winters (Nov-April) are cooler and drier with temperatures dipping to the low 50's. You and your family will have this campsite all to yourselves as Silver Oak Sunsets has just one campsite. Our family plot is located on the top acre in an area known fondly as Grandma's Garden. Provided for your camping experience are the following amenities: *Portable toilet and toilet paper (this full size portable toilet is pumped every 1-2 weeks and is thoroughly wiped down and cleaned before and after each visit) *Outdoor hot shower using Camplux propane water heater *Cold water sink *Water spigot *Large picnic table *Propane fire pit Sights and sounds you will likely encounter: *Coqui frogs (mostly at night, especially during rainy season) *Roosters and hens (will let you know that the sun is rising) *Dog's barking (heard in the distance) *Vehicle traffic (heard in the distance) *A beautiful sunset Other sight's and sounds you may encounter: *Turkey's and Kalij Pheasant's walking about and napping *Hawk's flying overhead *Wild boar (grazing at night) Note that boars do not typical attack, especially in unprovoked. *Mongoose (Hawai'i's version of a squirrel) They are not friendly but mind themselves. *My family and I landscaping and farming.
