This epic property was built by a Dillingham daughter and her husband in the early 80's. Transformed into a bed & breakfast in the 90's it is now known as Hawaii Island Resort. This consecutive guest review award winning facility capitalized on the 2018 eruption by starting Hawaii Island Macadamia Nut Company. The orchard has been left alone for more than 20 years with only wild pigs and poultry to tend it. This remarkable property now boasts above organic macadamia nuts just beginning to reach global markets. You can buy cheaper macadamia nuts but you can't buy better nuts. We love to share our abundance with others and opening the property to travelers that love to camp seemed like a perfect addition to our current program. We look forward to meeting you :) We have firewood. Please do not bring any outside sourced wood in. Thanks!Goldilocks climate zone allows you to camp in our macadamia nut orchard. Gently rolling grassy areas with the macadamia trees for privacy. Panoramic ocean views in some areas of the property. The dark skies provide spectacular stargazing. Very near the southernmost point of the USA and Green Sand Beach. Indoor ½ bath, and outdoor showers with endless hot water make this a safe and comfortable place to pitch your tent. High speed internet is available for free. We are sad to to add an age restriction due to guests/campers flushing diapers. Children are still welcome five years and older. Hawaii Island's Best Campsite
We loved staying in the macadamia nut orchard and collecting/cracking our own nuts! The kids also had a blast hunting for fruit to pick. The campsite was quiet and had a picnic table. Bathrooms were clean and had very hot water. Thank you Kelly for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful spot! Grounds covered in macadamia nut trees that you can collect and eat if you so choose. Only a couple camping spots with flat ground, but we were the only campers when we were there. Fun little pool with a slide (for adults!) and beautiful outdoor shower. Convenient location for exploring the area.

Amazing campsite. Easy to find, kind hosts, good amenities— flushing toilets, hot water, cute dogs, and access to all the fruits/macadamia nuts on the farm. I was in a camper van, and was able to park on the campground for a camping experience. Would absolutely stay here again!

Oasis close to black sand beaches
Gorgeous view on an amazing property, we were able to eat so many fresh macadamia nuts and other fruits on the property during our stay. Very quiet and peaceful, hot outdoor showers, clean and modern bathroom facilities for campers.

Beautiful setting in a macadamia orchard very creative outdoor showers and bathroom located on the resort grounds. Don’t forget your bug spray for this site!
