Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. WE ARE LOCATED WITHIN 14 MINUTES OF HAWAIʻI VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK! This Award-Winning off grid campsite was Named One of the Best HipCamps to Visit in Hawaii in 2025. We are nestled in the midst of a mini-Rainbow Eucalyptus Rainforest, with native Ohia trees sparsely located throughout our property. Hapu'u Ferns are also within our mini-Rainbow Eucalyptus Rainforest. Enjoy the stunning 90 - 100 degree ocean views of Hawaii Island's Western Coastline, as well as the new Volcanic Vent (Known as Fissure 8) created by the 2018 Eruption of the Kileaua Volcano. The Hawaii Volcano National Park (HVNP) is a 14 mile or 20 minute drive from our campsite. HVNP has a visitor's center to get information about the park, hiking trails throughout its boundaries, steam vents and the awe-inspiring caldera, which is the location of the volcano's lava pool. At night, the glow from the lava in the caldera can be seen at the park. Our campsite is also an 18 mile or 29 minute drive from the Hilo International Airport and the town of Hilo, Hawaii.

Living Circle Farms is an INCREDIBLE place! My boyfriend and I rented a minibus and needed a place to camp on the island. The communication leading up to our stay was impeccable, the directions were easy to follow, and the staff were the warmest, friendliest people. The caretaker, Kristian made us feel like family and was so accommodating. The people working on the farm were lovely. The bathrooms and the outdoor shower were nice to have so close to our campsite. When I return to Oahu I will Not hesitate to stay here again. The town of Haleiwa is 10 minutes away, as is the beach. Haleiwa has great places to eat, an awesome market, cool bars, and is fun to walk around. Overall, this experience was absolutely amazing and I would Recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience on Oahu.

Don’t listen to any of the mixed reviews. This place exceeded all of our expectations. It was the perfect place to spend a few nights, the hosts were kind, showers were hot and views were to die to die for. We are very grateful that the farm allowed us to experience a slice of their life.

Staying at the Sun Farm was great! We camped at multiple spots around the island, and they had the most hostel feel to it! The charging options on site with a fridge was perfect for our last night before leaving, as we we were able to have things available to use the next day. Hot water in the showers and our site was right next to the office. We were able to participate in the Sun Farm tour and we HIGHLY recommend! If we visit the Sun Farm again we would like to explore their cabin/tent options for sure!

Camp Host Marcos is a great guy who’s willing to do what it takes to make everyone feel comfortable. He took the time to get to know a little about me and went outside the normal SOP to accommodate me instead of sending me away. The grounds are well kept and gives the feel as though you’re camping in the middle of a jungle. Thanks Marcos for the stay in lieu of me being a little out of sorts.

We rented a camper van and parked it at the star camp. It was very easy to find, Manny is very welcoming and kind. He gave us very thorough and easy to follow instructions in our check in. He was also very easy to reach and communicate with. The views are stunning and highly recommend the showers with the mountains in the background. A perfect place to get away and admire the beauty that is Mother Nature.

It was such a nice experience staying at the yurt! We were a bit afraid of the cold showers and air mattresses beforehand but this was not a problem at all. The surroundings are so beautiful and it is a very special place to stay. I would definitely recommend staying here :)

Camping on the farm was a delightful experience! Would highly recommend. All the extra amenities (hot shower, bathrooms, outdoor kitchen) made our experience so much nicer. It was an excellent place to meet new people; other campers and volunteers were all so friendly. P.S. Waimea their puppy dog was an absolute sweetheart.

We stayed at both of Mae’s campsites for a week, and it was an amazing experience. The sites are thoughtfully equipped with hot showers, flush toilets, a sink, a sun/rain dome, a propane stove, and a campfire—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had planned to explore so much of the Big Island, but the campsite was so peaceful and nourishing that I often just wanted to stay there all day and do nothing. Mae is a wonderful host and such an interesting person to chat with. She welcomed us for morning tea and coffee and even shared delicious fruits from her farm. I would absolutely stay here again on my next visit to the Big Island. Highly recommended.

This camp was super fantastic. Our Host Mae was very caring for us (Malama ) and came to welcome us warmly when we arrive. The site was extraordinary with more than 2 acres just for us with a little lake , a place to play volleyball , a place to play balloon on a pole , and even a disc golf course that we could use with the disks furnished by the host!!! ..the restroom where the cleanest that I ever seen with , not one , but two showers and two restrooms And the showers were present with hot water. Everything was so clean. I could not believe it !! And the land: I thought for a moment that I was camping on a par 3 of Pebble Beach California !!! in supplement we had the right to pick up fruits from trees: Lemons, limes, oranges, finger, lemons, tangerines, and others !! We even had a very nice dog name Knob! That came and welcome us, and was really great with us!! In all, this was the best IPC experience that we ever had up to now! Thanks Mae! Jeff and Suzan

Tom was absolutely wonderful—so accommodating, even when we booked his cottage at the last minute! He made us coffee in the morning, gave us a lovely tour of the property, and was such a joy to chat with. He even sent us home with fresh fruit and flowers! The cottage itself was cozy and comfortable, and I was especially happy to find the shower had nice hot water. Highly recommend!

A lovely site with great staff and amenities. There’s a full kitchen which was really nice and 2 hot showers, also fantastic. Easy to find. I stayed in a campervan and you’re a bit close to other tent campers but that’s pretty clear prior to booking. Good location near Koko head and the city if you’re into that.
