This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you.
Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege.
While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants.
This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. We have two RV/tent campsites available. If you are bringing an RV, we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. No hookups are available at this time, the sites are flat.

Kokololio Beach Park is a 2-minute drive from the site. Hau'ula Loop Trail is only 4 minutes away. Kokololio Beach is a nice stretch of sand and during the summer months, swimming is possible.
When coming from the south, turn left toward the mountain immediately before the long Hauula Beach park bridge or when coming from the north turn right immediately toward the mountain just after the long park bridge into my dirt driveway. You will have the small river on your righthand side as you drive in.

Aloha! Looking for a place to lounge and adventure? Mangrove Lounge is the place for you! Mangrove Lounge is located right behind the historical town called Haleiwa Town. Camper Vans or RVs are more than welcome! During the day, enjoy access to a private river where you can take your fishing pole and catch yourself some dinner. After a busy day, enjoy a nice hot bath in a private shower under the stars, along with a flushing toilet and sink. Upon request and additional charge, end your adventure with a cozy night next to the fire pit ($28.00 for fire pit). Mangrove Lounge is 3-5 minutes (driving) away from many beaches and eateries in Haleiwa town where you can also do all your shopping. Less than a mile away, you can find all the delicious food trucks including the famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck. You can find your nearest supermarket just 1.2 miles away called Malama Market, and Longs Drug Store right across the street from Malama Market. Mangrove Lounge provides clean bathroom, a shower with hot water, access to a private river for relaxing or fishing, about 800ft from the nearest bus stop, and secured privacy so you and your friends or family can relax, feel safe, and most importantly...have fun! 😊

Once your camp is set, you will be walking distance from a potable spring, waterfalls, a black sand beach, Waipio stream and Waimanu Valley campground 9 miles on the Muliwai wilderness reserve trail. Wild horses, birds, pigs and farmers are commonly scene throughout the valley. When surf and ocean conditions allow you may enjoy kayaking, swimming, diving, fishing, surfing and seasonal whale and dolphin watching.
As camp hosts we will provide the best guidance during your stay and are available for more intimate one on one assistance with your choice of activities should you need. Please specify what your intentions for this camp experience are during our meeting at the valley lookout.
As active farmer gardeners we are seeking extra hands in work projects and welcome long stay extensions involving a work trade agreement. Be sure to let us know if you are interested in this option to extend your stay.

Kokololio Beach Park is a 2-minute drive from the site. Hau'ula Loop Trail is only 4 minutes away. Kokololio Beach is a nice stretch of sand and during the summer months, swimming is possible.
When coming from the south, turn left toward the mountain immediately before the long Hauula Beach park bridge or when coming from the north turn right immediately toward the mountain just after the long park bridge into my dirt driveway. You will have the small river on your righthand side as you drive in.

Aloha! Looking for a place to lounge and adventure? Mangrove Lounge is the place for you! Mangrove Lounge is located right behind the historical town called Haleiwa Town. Camper Vans or RVs are more than welcome! During the day, enjoy access to a private river where you can take your fishing pole and catch yourself some dinner. After a busy day, enjoy a nice hot bath in a private shower under the stars, along with a flushing toilet and sink. Upon request and additional charge, end your adventure with a cozy night next to the fire pit ($28.00 for fire pit). Mangrove Lounge is 3-5 minutes (driving) away from many beaches and eateries in Haleiwa town where you can also do all your shopping. Less than a mile away, you can find all the delicious food trucks including the famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck. You can find your nearest supermarket just 1.2 miles away called Malama Market, and Longs Drug Store right across the street from Malama Market. The bathroom and shower were very clean and comfortable, the outdoor kitchen space and BBQ were very useful and the property itself is stunning. The Earth Nest was magical. If you love nature, you should definitely stay here — many of the walls are completely open, which makes you feel like you’re outside while still in the comfort of a covered lodging. It was super easy to find, and the bathroom was steps away from the main cottage. There was a mosquito net over the bed, and the bed itself was unbelievably comfy. The bathroom was well-maintained and clean, and the shower had hot water, which was so nice. There was a full kitchen, which we didn’t end up using as we were just there for a night but would be super nice if you wanted to cook (and having a fridge was great). The area was quiet and beautiful. My one issue was that we felt a little nervous about the walls being completely open without any screens or anything as it didn’t feel completely safe, but we had no actual issues and it seems like a pretty secure site otherwise so it wasn’t too much of a problematic. This place really felt like something out of a fairy tale, I would definitely recommend.

This is beautiful setting! There was a mini fridge with a tiny freezer area and a 2-burner camp stove that worked without a lighter there were also some pots and pans and dishes to eat on. There was not a knife so make sure to bring one. We loved the private bathroom behind the tent and the covered picnic table in front of the tent. We especially ebjoyes talking with the Gardner Steve since he was out and about in the area. I recommend this for an excellent glamping experience!

We loved staying here! It had all the bare necessities and such a beautiful space. The perfect getaway stay-cation. The only downsides: the walls aren’t screened it so mosquitos were very present! More candles would help. Also, make sure to bring your own spices and things for cooking. The pots, pans, plates and utensils were all provided but definitely bring oil, spices and any extras you’d want :)

My partner and I had a great time at Sun Farm. It’s a beautiful space and the yurt is very cozy.
I would recommend renting a vehicle as it’s a bit away from the towns and beaches. But with vehicle access the location is wonderfully removed yet accessible to everything.
The roosters make a lot of noise in the morning but personally we did not mind it. The connection to nature was lovely, and it helps you wake up early to make the most of your day.
The bathrooms were kept clean. I had access to another living space during my stay where I took showers, only trying the campgrounds showers once. It may have been my own user error but the water did not get hot. That would be my main warning.
Otherwise the space is beautiful, clean and overall would highly recommend it for a short term stay.

This was my second HipCamp stay for my week-long adventure on Oahu. I really loved my stay here. I was the only one staying at the time, and it was perfect for me being a single person traveling alone. I felt very comfortable and safe. The amenities were good, and this place is situated close to Kailua Ranch and many spots to stop along the way to swim, surf, or picnic. The North Shore is also another place that was somewhat close and very enjoyable. Michael responded in a timely manner, was really nice, and showed me around property. When I’m back in the area I definitely will be staying there again soon.

This is such a nice place to stay on the island if you like camping— and because you’re on this website you probably do! The camper had everything I needed for five days. I didn’t cook there, but I used the refrigerator. Definitely a safe location to stay which is important to me as a solo traveler. And the luxury of being able to spend time on a quiet portion of the beach was well worth it. The owner is very responsive to questions and needs. The fact that he meets you the first time and then takes you to the place is super helpful!! Hundred percent would book again when I come back. You’ll hear some regular noises from camping next to houses but it’s no big deal.

Weekend Trip to Waterfront Paradise
Probably the most unique stay on our trip. Sitting in a van looking up at a clear night sky and the waves come in was bliss. Page was a great communicator throughout and we felt taken care. She met us at the agreed time and gave us a full walkthrough of the fan. She even provided extra charging cords when asked. The van itself is clean and as described. We really enjoyed it and would happily stay again.
