2 nights at Peaceful Tiny Home North Shore

Off the highway and private. House was nicely put together, clean, and comfortable. Kitchen was basic but suitable for our needs. Outdoor space had chair cushions that were wet from the rain when we arrived, but they did dry eventually in the sun. Better chairs that could be towel dried would have been nice to use the patio more than we did.

Great property, beautiful, no complaints whatsoever!!

We camped at several sites around the island and this one was by far the cleanest and was the only one with beach access. The host was really helpful too. It did seem spendy at first - but I would do it again knowing how clean the bathroom was and how nice it was to have the outdoor kitchen and potable water.

1 night at Maleka Farm: Camper-van & Tent

The camp site was just what I needed. Pulled my camper van in and the washrooms where clean and accessable. Do not dive there after dark without watching the YouTube video on how to get there (my travel wary self was not able to navigate the Google maps coordinates sent to me and I got turned around). Don't do what I did. Watch the video;). Thanks Savanna and Jill for the secure place to park overnight. Much appreciated.

Perfect location if you want a spot right on the beach. Very clean and secure area with no issues. When you’re on David’s land, you feel like you own the island, but it’s also a short drive to any restaurant or convenience store., You get the best of both worlds. David was a splendid host, very helpful on arrival and we couldn’t ask for anything better.

We loved our stay! The bathroom was clean and conveniently located. We got in late and it was still easy to find in the dark. We loved the communal feel and had we been there longer would’ve loved to enjoy the other amenities. Would definitely recommend to friends!!!

We stayed here the night before we started out sea to summit hike (Kaupo Gap). Perfect location for staging, the trailhead is walking distance from camp! We enjoyed our time.

This is my second time camping at Mason's land. I selected the Hideway site. The site had a gorgeous view of the mountains and I could hear the waves at night. I loved how dark it got at night to see the stars. I felt safe and relaxed every night. There were less mosquitoes in Apirl than October.

1 night at Sun Farm Hawaii @ Koko Head

First of all, it's a beautiful escape from Waikiki and all the noise and people. The 'Lanai' yurt we were in was spacious and comfortable for 2 people. It had everything you need, a desk lamp, charge station, wifi, fan, suitcase holder, towels, clean sheets and pillows. The camp has two seperate bathrooms and two separate showers(with hot water), both with a wash station that are very clean for a farm. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and you can even cook your own food there if you wanted to. They have a small section in the kitchen for free to use stuff as well. In a side room they have produce for sale and you can pay cash or venmo and have fresh fruit and juice or coconuts! Another little room has a washer and dryer for campers, which we didn't use. We didn't use any of those facilities but others were using them so they are ready to go for you! It's a nice little farm on the side of a hill and away from any sounds except nature at night. The chickens will start crowing at about 3am so have earplugs ready if you don't want to wake up then!! You'll definitely want bug spray or at least make sure you kill any mosquitos in your tent/yurt before you sleep. Lastly, they have the most adorable white lab Waimea, on the farm! Waimea would follow us around and doesn't bark without reason to. We were sad the day we left, waimea wasn't around so we didn't get to say goodbye. 😢 Loved our time there and would definitely go back. ❤️

Weekend Trip to the beach

If you are camping this is a must stop!! As a female travelling alone , I felt completely safe here. David is a wonderful host. I have an RV site, everything you need. Electric hook up, sewer hook up if needed. Outdoor kitchen, shower and bathroom. And your own private beach with a fire pit. Truly marvellous!!! I loved this site so much I decided to keep it as my base for the rest of my trip. And on one of my days there, whilst taking a walk along the beach I came across a turtle! Just resting there on the sand. I was really chuffed. And even though I am from the UK, I actually live in Canada. I was relieved to discover that David did not apply a 25% tariff!! 😂 Thankyou David for a wonderful time and memories I’ll never forget. I intend to return ….,

Weekend Trip to Sun Farm Hawaii @ Koko Head

I had a lot of fun at this property. It was easy to get to. Super low-key and the volunteers were nothing but helpful. The community areas are great. The showers are good when they’re warm. Bathrooms are comfy. And the vibes are pretty good too. It’s only a five minute drive from Koko Head hike which was amazing to do. I would definitely return and camp here again.

5 nights at Sun Farm Hawaii @ Koko Head

This is a wonderful place. I am an experienced boondocker and had a relaxing 5 night stay in a rented car in the camper van section. Hot showers, clean toilets, use of a full outdoor kitchen including dedicated space in the fridge, laundry for a fee, etc. Just be respectful. The staff lent me a pad and pillow for sleeping in the rental car, and I left supplies behind for future campers. It was easy to get west to Honolulu, to the beautiful eastern beaches, to numerous hiking trails, and the proximity to the Hawaii Kai shopping center made food and amenities easy. The staff and residents (young folks from all over the world) were smart, interesting, and very helpful and accommodating. The campers were ALL understanding of the ground rules and were happy to chat and trade tips, we ranged in age from 5yrs - 70 yrs (me). Folks were quiet by 9pm, it was dark and silent at night, and the roosters did not start up too early. The farm dog, cats, and roosters/chickens add to the ambiance. I would stay here again on my next return (I lived nearby 25 years ago).

1 night at Waimanalo Farmstay

My partner and I stayed at both the Banana Patch and Orchard Wall tents and they were perfect. Everything was exactly as described. The guides made travel to the locations very easy and staying on the property was wonderful. As it is a rural area, some animal noises at night were unavoidable (like chickens and dogs), but it didn’t impact our sleep. We would definitely look to stay here again the next time we visit Oahu.

6 nights at Sun Farm Hawaii @ Koko Head

I stayed there while visiting my daughter who attends UH. Close enough to get her back and forth to classes as she wanted to stay at camp. We were in the Oahu tent. Worked well for two people. It's peaceful and beautiful. We never met any staff...a few volunteers who mostly kept to themselves. Enjoyed chats with other travelers. The hot water went out the last 2 days we were there (out of 6). That was unfortunate. Bathrooms were clean. Nice to have a place to store food and prep easy meals. Would be nice if they added a few hooks/coat stand/another travel rack in the tent. Wifi worked great and fan was great. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Chickens and roosters were talkative!

Weekend Trip to Mangrove Lounge

Super quiet and nice experience - tucked away but close to all amenities. Host is very kind and helpful! Great tent/picnic table areas to utilize. Great for our camper-van experience

My time at David’s property was nothing short of a great time. The views are spectacular. Morning ocean views with the wind on you. Sunsets and then the starry sky if there’s no clouds. The parking was easy to back into, he meets with you and shows you all you need to know. Nice place to do your dishes which was very nice. Bathroom and shower (showers tricky to get hot n cold just right lol) but I got it! Got to sit and talk with David a few times and he’s a really cool guy. Even lost to a game of horseshoe to him. (I’ll be back for revenge haha). All around great property to get some beach front vibes going. I’ll be coming back if I’m ever on the island again. Thanks again, David!

2 nights at Hau'ula Hideaway

The Hau’lua hideaway tiny home is a perfect spot to get away from the tourists on Oahu! The house is a set up beautifully for hanging out and a nice nights sleep, the hosts are kind and responsive and the location is perfect. The house is a few blocks to a great beach and a short drive to many awesome beaches, restaurants and tourist attractions. On top of this, popular north shore spots aren’t far and it is an easy hour to Honolulu and Waikiki, if that’s your thing. If you want to stay a bit off of the beaten path and have a relaxing place to rest your head at the end of a day out, this spot is for you!

Clean with amazing views of the mountains even from the shower! Fairly quiet with the exception of roosters and some neighbors. Other hip campers were very friendly. Used the helpful suggestions that were in the hosts profile for places to visit and eat.

Hau'ula Homestead

Welcome to Hau'ula Homestead! We are located on O‘ahu, the beautiful Hawaiian Island. Right across the road from Hau'ula Beach park and a short drive from famous North Shore beaches. Flat grass field with some trees and bordered by a stream. We have two RV/tent campsites available. If you are bringing an RV, we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. No hookups are available at this time, the sites are flat. Campfires not permitted. We are pet-friendly, but please keep your pets on leash. A toilet, potable water, and wifi are all available. Kokololio Beach Park is a 2-minute drive from the site. Hau'ula Loop Trail is only 4 minutes away. Kokololio Beach is a nice stretch of sand and during the summer months, swimming is possible. When coming from the south, turn left toward the mountain immediately before the long Hauula Beach park bridge or when coming from the north turn right immediately toward the mountain just after the long park bridge into my dirt driveway. You will have the small river on your righthand side as you drive in.

Blue Dragon Hot Yoga is a Private Membership Association offering preparation and support for the transformation of a lifetime! We offer daily Hot Yoga classes, 1-4 week Yoga Immersion programs, and yearly retreats. As a retreat space, we often host guests who are on cleanses and/or dieta, so it is of utmost priority to keep the energy on the land pure and clear. Therefore, there is no smoking of any kind, alcohol consumption, or taking of plant medicine while on site. We ask that you show up with your full presence, without the influence of any other energies. We have quiet hours before 7:30 am and after 7:30 pm to honor the retreat atmosphere. Wi-Fi hours are from 7 am to 8 pm; please let us know if you need the Wi-Fi outside of these hours. We encourage you to leave your devices off as much as possible to receive from the healing frequency of the Earth. Blue Dragon Hot Yoga is an also permaculture homestead featuring many hugelkulture garden beds growing staple foods like taro, pumpkin, cassava, sweet potato, and local greens. We have many young fruit trees in the ground and are blessed to have some mature trees currently producing banana, papaya, rollenia, & avocado. In addition to growing food, we are also raising many animals and two children! You will see the girls up early in the morning feeding the guinea pig or playing with our three temple cats. We are committed to living in harmony with the land, and as such we are mostly off-grid and catch our own water. We sort all of our trash meticulously for recycling. Currently plastic is NOT recycled on this island, so our Kuleana (responsibility) is to buy as little plastic as possible. We use only biodegradable and eco-friendly soaps, shampoo, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, etc. It’s a great experience in taking small actions to show our love to the ’āina (the land).

Please refrain from walking or driving Waipio road prior to or after our meetup as the current road safety restrictions prohibit all non-Hawaiian island residents from entering the valley without a local escort. Once your camp is set, you will be walking distance from a potable spring, waterfalls, a black sand beach, Waipio stream and Waimanu Valley campground 9 miles on the Muliwai wilderness reserve trail. Wild horses, birds, pigs and farmers are commonly scene throughout the valley. When surf and ocean conditions allow you may enjoy kayaking, swimming, diving, fishing, surfing and seasonal whale and dolphin watching. As camp hosts we will provide the best guidance during your stay and are available for more intimate one on one assistance with your choice of activities should you need. Please specify what your intentions for this camp experience are during our meeting at the valley lookout. As active farmer gardeners we are seeking extra hands in work projects and welcome long stay extensions involving a work trade agreement. Be sure to let us know if you are interested in this option to extend your stay. It is close to Pahoa, Uncle Robert’s Night Market, Kalani resort and many magical and hidden treasures of the newest land on earth!Since a spectacular and dramatic trip to big Island a few years back I have had hot lava, the sweetness of the people, food and the power of Maunakea running through my veins. Equally charming and magical was my incredible host Jade who has made an off the grid home on the lava in Kalapana Gardens. If she is not overbooked, I highly recommend staying with her for at least a couple of nights. If you stay on my adjacent lava plot in my Eurovan or in your tent or vehicle then you may be able to make arrangements to attend one of her deeply soulful ceremonies.
