We have a hidden exotic fruit orchard tucked away through rolling green hills, perched over the Hamakua cliffs, overlooking the pacific. We sell our fruits ripe and cut ready to eat at our roadside fruit stand, open 10-6 daily including holidays! We serve local fresh juices and machete open coconuts to drink ice cold. We grow mango, durian, lilikoi, star fruit, chocolate sapote, buddhas hand citrus, finger limes, tangerines and tangelos, jackfruit, tree grapes, mangosteen, white pineapples, mountain apples, berries, spices and much more. We are home to dozens of rescue animals, many who came from Puna during the 2018 lava flow. Meet peaceful sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and a lovable pet pig. Not to mention our friendly farm cats. We are a community of a few passionate farmers and fruit lovers. There’s a family- myself Rose, my partner Matthew and our daughter Mela, plus several awesome guys and girls who help out in different areas to grow our lives together!

Milky Way Pasture Camp is an open, grazed working pasture. There is a small herd of sheep and lambs who may come visit you! We have a gathering place in the pasture under a large shade tree, with hammocks, swings, etc. You can camp in a vehicle or set up a tent here! The toilet is a portopotty shared by my fruit stand. This site has access to the Hamakua Canal, via a ladder. The Hamakua Canal was completed in 1899, and is a historic open concrete canal coming off waipo's waterfalls and going 30 miles down the coast. It is 2-4' deep with cold clean clear water, though it is not safe to drink. You are welcome to dip in it, and use to rinse dishes etc. There is a orchard around a small pond, filled with tilapia and lotus. There are 2 long term residents who camp here- we ask that you not enter the ironwood forest campout of respect for the camper there, and if a truck is parked with a tent up on it, please give it space also. This site is 2 wheel drive accessible. It is behind a locked gate, which adds extra security. It's important to keep gate closed at all time for our sheeps sake. There is wifi in the communal area around and below fruit stand, however you won't have wifi or cell reception at your campsite.

Coconut Wayside is our simplest overnight parking. It the best choice for someone looking to sleep in their vehicle in a safe, easy to get to, good vibes location at a low cost. Late night arrivals are ok!! It is located right on Honokaa-Waipio road, AKA hwy 240. You will hear and see traffic, but it is also quiet enough to hear nature and usually see the milky way. Ocean views from the parking lot. Late check in and early check out is fine. Our business will open around 9 or 10, and it will begin to get busy around that time. There are picnic tables available for your use (outside of our business hours), along with a non potable water handwashing station, clean portopotty, and swings. There is not an option to set up a tent, hammock or chairs at this site. (Please book Milky Way pasture camp for tent camping options.) This is just for sleeping inside a contained vehicle. You can order off our menu in advance, and we can arrange to have fruit, drinks or coconuts available before or after our fruit stands open hours.

A somewhat dusty but otherwise lovely spot in the middle of nowhere. Well maintained port-o-potty. Curious sheep under a spectacular milky-way night sky, shooting stars included. We got free fresh fruit in the morning. Thanks! :)

Nice surroundings, quiet and felt secure. Code for entry was wrong so probably need to update that. We were able to get it from the fruit stand before close. But if we arrived later not sure what we'd do. Overall great experience.

Coconut Nighttime Wayside
We camped in our campervan and it was easy parking, quiet and level. Make sure you communicate with the camp before getting there as we didn’t have cell service once there and the starlink did not show up on our phones. Also make sure you screen shot the route or download your map app.

Lovely and peaceful spot! Unfortunately we couldn’t make it before dark so had a hard time navigating to the place and within the grounds. But once we got settled we were amazed by the Milky Way view - best stars I’ve seen in a long time! The sheep gave us a very friendly greeting & we thoroughly enjoyed the fruit stand offerings. Def recommend it for a basic and peaceful camping experience!

Loved this place! We gorged ourselves on some delicious exotic fruits. We enjoyed seeing a beautiful clear sky and even saw some shooting stars!

Milky Way Pasture Camp
Rose and Family were very nice and accommodating, making it very easy to find. It felt very safe and secure there. Her beautiful land and Fruit Stand were the real stars of the show!!! We woke to a deeply beautiful landscape with sheep roaming close by, who grazed pleasantly close to us during our breakfast; and afterwards we partook of her very tasty Fruit Stand!!! Definitely recommend both the chilled coconut and the fresh squeezed sugar-came and ginger juice!!!

Truly charming experience!
Bullfrog Lake Camp
This Hipcamp was truly charming, as well as the host Rose. She was kind and accommodating to all our requests, very easy to communicate with, and prompt with her responses. We felt welcomed. The campsite was private. The large tent is not sealed, so don't book this accommodation if you are afraid of bugs and frogs. They are there, and there is nothing you can do about it. We had our own tents, so we slept in them, however, Rose's tent with a kitchen was an amazing base, and it was as clean as possible. We hang out there in the evening on the bed, and even though the bugs made their way in, they weren't interested in us sitting on the bed, so I assume you'd be fine during the night too. The bullfrogs are very loud but their evening concert is calming. If you prefer sleeping in a quiet environment, grab yourself some earplugs. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this campspot. It was one of the best Hipcamps we've been to.
