Our host, Nancy greeted us warmly when we arrived and helped us to find the entrance to the property. The bungalow was very private and cozy. We loved waking up to an incredible view of the ocean! There was a lot of cool wildlife around, including lizards, wild pigs, and parakeets. Unfortunately, we had a cloudy sky at night, but given clearer conditions, the bungalow would have been perfect for stargazing, and there was even a telescope available for us to use. One thing to note, there is a long, grassy, uphill driveway to the property. We arrived in a brand new BMW convertible and suffusive to say that was not the right car for this location.

Nancy was very accommodating and communicative. She made finding the place and checking in very easy, even greeted us with homemade banana bread. Her land was very charming and well situated. Beautiful stars on a clear night and ocean view in the morning.

The land and the space was lovely, but somewhat more rustic than we had expected. For example, we didn’t know that there were no lights at the bungalow (except for a small rechargeable lamp) and would have appreciated a heads up about that. Guests should be aware that it’s more basic than the description suggests. Nonetheless, the bed was comfortable and clean and we appreciated the outdoor cooking space. A nice place to crash for a couple of nights.

The bungahigh cabin had amazing views and was in a good location for exploring the east side of the island! Nancy was very kind and made check in super easy. Everything was as described and we appreciated the supplies for bugs, thankfully the bugs weren’t bad though. Definitely a camping feel with a comfortable bed.

The cabin was great! Views of the ocean were very nice and we enjoyed the entertainment of watching a cruise ship coast by every night. The hosts were responsive and also flexible with us for an early check-in.

100% happy to return to this special hideaway. There was everything I needed like basic comforts in a running toilet and goood bed amongst amazing nature. Then there was things I didn’t know I needed like Nancy’s banana bread, it was gone instantly! Best sleep and views I’d had in recent memory. My only wish was that there was a sky light in the roof so I could see the stars and trees above my bed, and if the water didn’t have a strong chlorine smell when I used it (obviously not for drinking.) The little things like the lantern, dishes and comforter all are such thoughtful ideas to make sure guests have a pleasant stay. Mahalo for your hospitality! I hope to visit again

Wow! Beautiful view of the ocean in a secluded spot! Nancy was great to work with and really went above and beyond to make my stay work as I had some scheduling issues. The bed is comfortable and the view is amazing. There was adequate privacy for this type of structure. There is not potable water (though a reasonable amount of potable water was available in gallon containers. The water for the shower and bathroom come from a water catchment system. I would just recommend checking with the host about the water source from the catchment as the second day it was a little smelly.

The best part is the view (even on the toilet and while cooking)! Also it has everything you need (cooler, bed, plates etc.). We loved staying there!

We had a great time at Nancy & Richard's little cabin in the forest. The bed was nice a comfortable. View was amazing! The ability to cook like we were camping was a benefit. Thanks for having a cooler present. We laughed at the ocean view while sitting on the toilet! 😅😅 Our only recommendations would be a table by the BBQ to prep and a screen for the patio to leave it open all night!

Was such a peaceful place to stay - so quiet & simple. Such a unique experience to stay within a Christmas tree farm too. The views were incredible and just what we needed after running around busy exploring. The host was very communicative and clear in their directions as well!

Excellent campground. Good communication with hosts. Nick was great to greet us and welcome us in. Close to a nice little park for bathroom and relaxing. Beautiful location, the shelter works perfectly on rainy days for a small 2 person tent. For the price, I would stay here again and recommend.

I loved the Area..the xmas tree farm was secluded and quiet. Loved the Big windows and morning sunrises...will most definitely be back!!

Everything was amazing. My girlfriend and I live on Oahu and in the noisy city, so when we travel to other islands we look for a quiet relaxing stay, and the BungaHigh was just that. We slept so well, took in the ocean views and just chilled! Nancy was great and easy to communicate with. Just a forewarn (I may have missed it in my own research) but there is no power in the cabin so bring a power bank and if you happen to have AT&T you will have no service. None the less, we would love to stay here again! Mahalo and Aloha.

Nancy was so sweet and welcoming upon our arrival. Site is so unique and beautiful! Very close to Hilo and Akaka falls. Make a stop at Mr. Ed’s Bakery nearby!

We loved our stay at the BungaHigh Oceanview Cabin! It was located in a beautiful area, and we had no problems finding it. The space was cozy and comfortable, and the sunrise was amazing! The shower was cold, but very refreshing, and a nice way to cool down for the evening. The propane stove was excellent and allowed us to brew a perfect cup of tea to enjoy while we watched the sun come up. This was our third night on our 6-day motorcycle tour of the island. We would definitely stay here again!
