Not really a tent camping site
We had no illusions about this being a rustic situation. But it's not really a tent camping site. It's basically just an abandoned, overgrown lot.
We showed up to Cozy Meadows on a rainy night. The "camping area" was so overgrown, it took us about 10 minutes of wandering around to realize no, we weren't wandering off property into the brush, and yeah, this must be it. Also, the description does warn that conditions are muddy in the rain, and boy oh boy, they aren't exaggerating.
Anyway, we decided not to stay since there wasn't anywhere to set up the tent. If you have a camper van or an RV and just need a place to park for the night, then this works! But again: not really a tent camping site.

WORST NIGHT EVER
We reserved two nights here but we just stayed one (terrible) night because we didn’t want to stay anymore, this can’t even be a campground!!! The shower IS NOT a shower and the toilet was difficult to open, but it was impossible just to walk there because the grass is too high and it’s always raining. We got stuck in the mud for one entire night we couldn’t go away because of the ground. Our Van could have had big damages. I would ask for a refund because this was a scam and the host of course didn’t reply to us when we were in trouble. DON’T GO THIS PLACE MUST BE CLOSED

Very muddy
Very muddy terrain. Would not recommend installing a tent.

Cozy Meadows Campsite
Very bad experience: mud everywhere, making it almost impossible to access the « spots » (it looks more like a wasteland, which is not maintained), old furniture lying around outside and keeping stagnant water so lots of mosquitoes, the shower (cold water ofc) is actually a garden hose: not a healthy or welcoming environment, we were sleeping there backwards.
The arrival in the rain is very complicated, with no light at all and complicated process.
Take this if you really have no other solution, or if you're on a very tight budget (it's not worth more than $30, by the way)

Not so cozy
Instructions to enter were overly complicated and some of them no longer apply.
Main path to "sites" was really muddy, and I got my vehicle stuck. I had to pay $400 to have my vehicle towed out. The two truck driver said he just pulled someone out 3 days prior.
I arrived at night, and there was no lighting or signage to designate specific sites.
This is truly just a plot of land with a gate, and a porta potty.
If site owner put just a little more thought and gravel down, this could be a decent site.
Camped at Camp Olowalu 2 days later, and it was the same price. Things were clearly marked, they had showers, and clearly marked campsites. Paths into the site were paved or covered in mulch.
Cozy Meadiws should be priced at $10/night for what you get, if that.
Owner was completely unwilling to take responsibility for his lack of care for this site and was unapologetic for the issues I experienced as a result of his carelessness

Needed to be towed out, do not camp
This experience was mostly accurate to the listing, the outdoor shower is a hose and it's very bare bones for a campsite which would have been fine. However, what is not listed is that anytime it rains, it gets so muddy that our camping van had to be towed out yesterday morning. The tow driver said we were the 3rd vehicle this week he had to winch out and all instances received no communication from the person in charge of the rentals. It has been around 30 hours and still no reply from him. Absolutely do not recommend, Haiku is almost always rainy but especially so in spring. Haiku is far enough away that tow companies all take a long time to reach. If roadside assistance wasn't covered by our van rental agreement, we would have had to pay an unfortunate amount for this inconvenience but we were very fortunate that it didn't delay our initial plans much since we had planned a morning read-in anyways. Do not camp here, especially with a larger vehicle!
