Nice spot in kansas
The Light Center is a beautiful property tucked amongst farmland between Kansas City and Wichita. I camped there for one night during a very humid spell and was relieved at how comfortable it got at night. The nighttime sounds were fantastic + fireflies mixed with the stars as I sacked out. There is only one camp spot close to parking + water, and the others you have to hike into. Because of our current Covid-19 era, I was asked to utilize a Home Depot bucket-based composting toilet, if needed. I would recommend this spot for a nice overnight stay.
Loved my stay at The Light Center! Sunny was there when I arrived to give me directions to the campsite which I found easily. She also showed me the two baby goats - Castor and Pollux! The site was in a nice location - only took a few minutes to walk to from the car but was still secluded for privacy.
There was a wagon to use which was nice to haul my stuff to the site. The barn was closed due to COVID-19 but there was a compost toilet available. I did bring some firewood because I was worried the wood there would be too wet from the recent rain, but there was plenty of wood scattered to make a fire. Overall, I had a great night and I will definitely be back!
