Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
- Visit the Texas State Parks reservation website to book your campsite.
- Reservations can be made up to five months in advance.
- During peak season, weekday reservations are usually your best bet as opposed to weekends if you haven’t made an advanced reservation.
When to Go
The park’s busiest seasons are spring, summer, and fall, so if you plan to travel during those times, be sure to book your campsite well in advance. Shoulder months like October to November and March to April can be great times to snag a campsite while avoiding the typical hot, wet, and occasionally cold seasons in Texas.
Know Before You Go
- An on-site park store sells souvenirs, sundries, and ice.
- Take precautions against flash flooding by vacating the river if you notice muddy water or the water level rising rapidly.
- Pets are allowed at the campground, except for at the primitive sites.
