Potato Creek State Park

As far as we know, Potato Creek State Park doesn't have a bunch of potatoes growing everywhere, but that doesn't mean you couldn't BYO. Wind through wildflower trails and rolling fields on your first hike here, then explore the long list of activities catered to every nature lover's whim that expansive area offers. Soak up the beachy sun during summertime and tube down a hill in the winter; cast a line at the fishing pier, or walk your horse through one of the scenic bridle trails. A robust rental station offers everything from kayaks to bikes, and you'll be able to get a healthy workout in the rec station. Did we mention they have wildlife watching areas and interpretive nature programs? This is a prime spot to get close to nature. We have a feeling eating french fries won't be frowned upon here, though. 'Cause, yum.
