Such a great site! The best of primitive camping while still being close to lots of local attractions. There’s a big farmers market not far from the site and Lake Michigan was only a 20 minute drive. Our host was awesome, she answered all my questions right away! We would highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves being engulfed in nature, you’ll hear lots of wildlife, and the trail to get back to your site only adds to the experience in my opinion! We loved it! 🥰

Great stay. Wonderful little rustic escape from the city. Host was very communicative and very helpful. Would stay again, and would recommend for anyone that doesn't mind not having running water or a traditional toilet. 🚽

We loved our stay at Elizabeth’s site. The directions were very clear and she answered any questions we had. Couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. FYI the donkey visit is well worth it 🫏
This was a great place to stay when you’re planning to head to Indiana dunes national park the next day. It’s only about a 45 minute drive. The hosts were super helpful and responded quickly to my questions. The site was huge and very private and I was the only one there. There is a camping toilet at the site, which I had to ask how to use. The only negatives are the challenge to find the right driveway to park, which Elizabeth was outside on my arrival so it wasn’t a big deal and I am ok with taking my own trash with me but was not expecting to have to take the camping toilet waste, it was fine but a bit weird. I would, however, definitely stay here again.
I wish I could have stayed for about 3 days or more, but my job only allowed for one night. I chose this campsite for its proximity to everything I wanted to try and do in about 28 hours with my dogs. I knew about the short hike in and out; DEFINITELY worth it when you get to the site. Bit of an incline going back up, pulling the cart (very handy! ) and walking 2 dogs, but it was great exercise. The site itself is a really nice clearing in the middle of a thick wood, very clean and well kept, nice little toilet just in case. Once you get set up, you're in paradise. Bring bug spray in the summer, spring for the firewood (waiting for me at the fire pit), and ENJOY! I got set up, listened to a Cubs game on the radio, had a few pops, took the dogs for a short hike, and then watched the Jack White concert live on my phone by the fire. Met the hosts briefly on one of my trips to the car.. very nice, great communication, everything was perfect. 11/10 would recommend, will be back!

The site was large and very secluded. Be prepared for bugs and slugs, as well as a ~10 minute trek through the woods from the road to the site. The provided wagon helped with getting our stuff back there though.

This was my first primitive camping experience, but not my significant other's. I have to say, this spot is going to be hard to beat! It is beautiful, quiet, and secluded. It is exactly what we were looking for. The host was very responsive, but she also gives you your privacy. We had a great time!

The solitude is what stood out to me. I would’ve brought a scaled down set up. It really isn’t car camping. Their wagon was nice, we had our own as well. We would go again with a minimalist set up, for sure!!

Liz was a wonderful host!!! She was very responsive in the days prior to our stay. We arrived in the late evening where she went above and beyond to get us to our campsite in the dark.
The campsite is huge clearing and stocked with amenities. We enjoyed sleeping among the tall trees. Dog friendly. We would definitely return!

We absolutely loved the proximity to Three Oaks and Lake Michigan - and this spot provided so much privacy, it was perfect for us and our pup! The secluded site in a gorgeous forest makes the walk in so worth it, and the hosts provided a cart to help transport gear.
If you camp with your pet it's worth noting that the walk to camp takes you right past their (beautiful) horses and a donkey. It was exciting for us and our dog, and we made sure to take precautions to keep him calm so as not to startle the horses.
We would absolutely camp here again! Gorgeous setting and close to so many activities.

Absolutely loved staying here! The walk out to the campsite really makes it feel secluded and all you hear are the birds and frogs. The wagon provided to haul your equipment out to the site was a life saver and really made the short walk easier. The host was communicative and warned us about a storm coming through that night. Had such a blast and definitely planning on coming out to stay again!
The perfect solo spot that had the cutest little trail back to a private site. Loved the camp toilet and wagon, it made everything so easy! Will be back 💕

Campground was a cozy getaway. Very quiet and convenient with accommodations like firewood and toiletries. Our host was friendly, helpful and communicative. Easily made for a relaxing stay.
Elizabeth is very responsive and a great host. The site is super secluded with lots of trees for shade and wide enough to set up multiple tents.

The site was private, but near to the house if anything was needed. It was a slightly longer walk than anticipated after a long day, but manageable and there was a wagon to help transport your things

A lovely experience! It was a spot covered by trees and when it rained overnight, barely anything was wet the next morning. The walk from the parking spot to the camping spot felt shorter than it looked on the map and was so green to walk into. Appreciate having firewood available on site!

We had a great time on Elizabeth's land. It was beautiful and secluded. Our pup loved it and we loved it. Not close to major highways, so it's pretty quiet at night. Would recommend for a getaway in the woods.

This is a very great place if you want a more "roughing it" experience.
The couple who runs it were really great down to earth people. It's awesome that they are willing to share their Beautiful forest with people. It's a quarter mile walk which is not that bad especially if you travel light. I have a heart condition and a pacemaker and we have a 5yr old and had no problems. Returning to your vehicle is mostly uphill so plan your trips. The forest was great and alive at night. I was very surprised that mosquitoes were not horrible. We had family natural care repellent and BBW eucalyptus spearmint lotion and fine. The ONLY thing to watch out for is if you are highly sensitive to poison ivy. There was alot all over the northwest part of the land and around the camp site. We kept our shoes outside the tent and had no issues.
I hope to come back soon. It was a very quiet and peaceful place. So glad they are willing to share there little treasure with others.

I ended up getting to the campsite really late and it was pitch dark after doing some extra hiking earlier in the day. The directions given were perfect and a motion detector light at the trailhead was really helpful. I was the only one camping that night in the big clearing. It was a nice set up, especially as someone used to backcountry camping.

The campsite was incredibly private, large, and clean! If you are confused about the toilet situation, there is a little pop up tent with a portable toilet and some sanitary stuff in there. The hosts were super friendly and had some great suggestions for where we should go for the day. They also had some friendly dogs in addition to the horses and donkey. The site is about a 20 min drive away from a really cute touristy town on Lake Michigan for a nice day at the beach. We also went during berry season, and there was a pick you own farm really close by with some local goods to buy as well. First experience with Hipcamp and I had an amazing time at Elizabeth's place!

Our stay was great! It’s a nice little campsite tucked away just a short walk into the woods. The host family was kind and friendly, thanks for a great stay.
Loved camping here! Lots of fire flies and even heard an owl!
Fire pit is nice as is seating. Perfect ground for tent camping :) close to several sets of dunes. Host was friendly and helpful.
(Horses and chickens where also pretty and fun to see)

Overall, it's a great site, and it is very private. That said, some aspects of the trip could have been more clearly communicated and managed. Specifically, we looked for a site that had a picnic table available which was what the post said: I believe it said "available upon request" which we requested when we were about to arrive to only be notified that one was not available. A portable toilet was made available and we were grateful for it, but we were then expected to take the waste with us when checking out. To be fair, the host did offer to take this out, and she did, after telling her that our car was tightly packed. It would have been nice to set this as an expectation from the very beginning. We always expect to take out food and other miscellaneous waste, but not specifically toilet waste unless explicitly mentioned. Lastly, while some poison ivy is to be expected in a rural campsite, it was very abundant near the trails and campsite- there was actually some growing on the perimeter of the fire pit. I did not experience any symptoms from this, but my partner did end up with a rash after the trip. I think this site has a lot of potential, and the host was very nice to us overall.
We had such a a great experience. Elizabeth was very kind and helpful. The campsite was very private and tucked in the woods. An easy 20 minute drive from Warren dunes State Park.

Overall we had a great experience. The site was nice, secluded. Owner was friendly and provided a sturdy wagon for easy unloading.
Owner does have horses but once you make it halfway down the trail you won’t smell them.
My only gripe was regarding the “portable toilet”. Maybe it’s my fault for thinking it but I was expecting an outhouse or port a potty. We were fairly shocked to find a bucket with a bin of hygienic products. It is technically a portable toilet though.
Amazing place to camp and it’s just a 20 min drive to the lake. I’ll definitely be coming back!
