When to Go
Skidaway Island State Park is great to visit any time of year, but spring and summer are best for watersport opportunities, such as kayaking and paddleboarding. While summers in Savannah can get warm, Skidaway Island tends to be more pleasant thanks to its cooling ocean breezes. As with most state parks, the summer months are busiest, especially on weekends, so it’s a good idea to make reservations in advance.
Know Before You Go
- A ParkPass is required for all vehicles and is not included with camping reservations. Overnight guests pay only one ParkPass fee for the duration of their stay.
- Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash no longer than six feet. Pets are not allowed in buildings or swimming areas.
- Drone use is prohibited in all Georgia state parks.
