Three sites available on 5 acres of raw land in the rolling meadows creates a 360 view of the Pike and San Isabel National Forest mountain range along. No visible city lights obstruct your view of the Milky Way or starry night skies. For hiking, fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, and more the property is close to Antero Reservoir, Eleven Mile State Park and Reservoir, Spinney Mountain State Park and Reservoir and the famous "Dream Stream" area. Nearby the Continental divide at Cottonwood pass, Wilkerson pass and others, and 9 different fourteeners to hike are within 40 miles. Basecamp Site 1 and Site 2 offer a fire pit and picnic table, Basecamp Site 3 is raw camping site with no current amenities.

This site has a pentagon shaped fire pit and a tad farther North than site 1. Please be aware of local fire bans before you have a fire. Beautiful land that felt isolated. It was really windy that high up. I'd have stayed there longer if i had better gear.

Great place for tent camping under the stars. Easy to find and easily accessible, even in a sedan. Property was very quiet and clean. Would recommend!

Beautiful and peaceful location. It appears there may be people who live out on the property but you never saw them. Loved being able to see the stars and hearing absolutely nothing. Would stay again for the peace

Beautiful view, and not crowded. Saw cattle and antelope. The moon coming over the mountain view was incredible. Also, no bugs, which was nice. I would do it again.

I would absolutely recommend this site to a friend and expect to find myself coming back. We went to watch the meteor shower and chose this site for its proximity to town, mountain views, and most importantly for our case, the dark sky. Incredible 360 views of the mountains and prairie, stunning sunrise / sunsets, and visible Milky Way made for an awesome weekend camping. Paul was a fantastic host - very quick and thorough responses to questions through the app and the directions brought us to the site with ease. The site was clean, had a picnic table and fire pit, and even a surprise bundle of wood waiting for us - not sure if this is standard or if the last guest left it, but it was a welcomed surprise regardless. There some scattered cow pies which was expected as it is an open graze prairie, but nothing overwhelming and no smells

Beautiful, but a but brutal

Basecamp Site 1

I wasn't the person to choose this site. The site was a wide open field, complete with cow patties. If you choose this site, bring shade! The elements & flies were brutal, but it really is beautiful. I think a cow got killed in the middle of our first night, so none of our 8 people got rest. It's super hot when the sun is out, bitter cold at night, and intense when the weather blows through. The day we went to the hot springs, our stakes pulled out & our rain fly blew enough for the rain to soak our things. No grate on the fire, but I appreciate that the pits have lids. No facilities & no cover. Our "potty tent" kept blowing over, so no privacy at all. No trash disposal anywhere nearby, so we had to haul our trash 5 hours home. Also no water, except for the kind that pelts you in the face. We did enjoy the people in Hartsel, and the site was very clean. I just prefer shade and water.
