It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. Enjoy our back lot for a private campsite which borders a prairie preserve. Watch the deer come in the morning and evening and listen to our friendly, happy hens cluck away, not to mention all the beautiful song birds. We are happy to share our golf clubs and balls to hit a few into the field. Our kids love it!
Tree coverage along with an open field. We cut the field to offer a walking trail to the prairie preserve. There is a tree surronded, very private tent site for tenters, but if you have a camper you can find a spot that works best for you! (The tent site is very private and a camper would not fit.)
We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! Take a walk around the prairie preserve and kayak down the apple river, but don’t forget the local brewery and boutique shop. There is some great fishing on local lakes in the area as well. We offer a 30 amp electric hook up and our hose for water. We also have a shower tent with a camping porta potty.

+Fresh Local Food: If you’re here during the season, you can purchase fresh produce directly from us or from our neighbors. Lindstrom has a local meat shop, and you can grab essentials and snacks at Rod’s Country Corner. There’s always something to make your camp meals extra special.

--Wildlife: Black bears do live in the area, so please make sure all food is stored securely in your car at night. We want to keep everyone safe and the bears wild!
--Weather: Rural weather can be unpredictable, pop-up storms are common. Be sure to check forecasts, and keep rain gear handy. Tents are subject to wind, so make sure your setup is sturdy.
--Quiet Hours: We value our peace and quiet here, so please respect our designated quiet time after sundown. It's a time to unwind and enjoy the stars.

Cozy lakeside cottage that sleeps two, with level lawn space nearby that will fit two additional tents in your group. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Private 3/4 bath and comfortable TV room is 60 steps away in the house. Mostly private spaces with some shared spaces such as driveway, hallways, sometimes we cross paths in the yard. Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs, renaissance fest, Valleyfair, & many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's.
The basic price of $80 per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the cottage, but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night. A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking), and sign a property liability waiver upon check in. The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure.

Designed with modern and well equipped spaces in mind, the entire second floor of the barn space is for our guests use including a full laundry room and fully equipped kitchen.
For sleeping accommodations we have the main "owners" bedroom with a queen bed, the secondary bedroom has 2 twin beds. In the living room, the sofa has a pull-out queen mattress made of quality memory foam and bedding. In addition to or if preferred, we also have a Queen size double high air mattress with built in pump and also a twin double high mattress with built in pump and all bedding.
The Loft at Strawberry Hill provides its guests fresh towels, linens, and many other necessities such as dish soap, dishwasher/laundry tabs, shampoo etc.
Other things to note
Balconies on both ends to enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Many trails for walking. Afton Alps resort and Afton State Park close by. Private fire pit and Adirondack chairs on premises for our guests outdoor use. Great restaurants in quaint downtown Hudson 8 min. away and historic Stillwater 15 min. away.
For bed setup. We can sleep 6 comfortably or more depending on if the queen beds are shared. There is one queen bed in bedroom #1. Bedroom #2 has 2 twin beds. Then we have 2 nice tall inflatable mattresses with built in pumps and all needed bedding that set up in the living room. One mattress is a queen and the other is a twin.
We also have a tiny home on the property if extra space is needed, please inquire! You can find it listed as "The Little House on Strawberry Hill.

Enjoy our back lot for a private campsite which borders a prairie preserve. We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Private 3/4 bath and comfortable TV room is 60 steps away in the house. Mostly private spaces with some shared spaces such as driveway, hallways, sometimes we cross paths in the yard. Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs, renaissance fest, Valleyfair, & many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's.
The basic price of $80 per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the cottage, but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night. A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking), and sign a property liability waiver upon check in. The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure.

Designed with modern and well equipped spaces in mind, the entire second floor of the barn space is for our guests use including a full laundry room and fully equipped kitchen.
For sleeping accommodations we have the main "owners" bedroom with a queen bed, the secondary bedroom has 2 twin beds. In the living room, the sofa has a pull-out queen mattress made of quality memory foam and bedding. In addition to or if preferred, we also have a Queen size double high air mattress with built in pump and also a twin double high mattress with built in pump and all bedding.
The Loft at Strawberry Hill provides its guests fresh towels, linens, and many other necessities such as dish soap, dishwasher/laundry tabs, shampoo etc.
Other things to note
Balconies on both ends to enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Many trails for walking. Afton Alps resort and Afton State Park close by. Private fire pit and Adirondack chairs on premises for our guests outdoor use. Great restaurants in quaint downtown Hudson 8 min. away and historic Stillwater 15 min. away.
For bed setup. We can sleep 6 comfortably or more depending on if the queen beds are shared. There is one queen bed in bedroom #1. Bedroom #2 has 2 twin beds. Then we have 2 nice tall inflatable mattresses with built in pumps and all needed bedding that set up in the living room. One mattress is a queen and the other is a twin.
We also have a tiny home on the property if extra space is needed, please inquire! You can find it listed as "The Little House on Strawberry Hill.

Beautiful space! Many times pictures make a place look pretty, but you get there and everything is flimsy. Not here! The couches and bed were very comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked etc. We stayed in winter, so didn't explore the grounds too much, but could see there was a lot to do.

Such a unique place to get away for a day or 2. Love the farm and the animals. We had the opportunity to meet the property owners, they were super nice too. We had a unique request for this retreat and we were accommodated. Would definitely return and recommend.

5 nights at Cozy Lakeside Cottage Guestroom
This was exactly what I was looking for. The property (and expected experience) is accurately described.
The property, including the cottage/camping area is bordered by trees and brush on two sides and the lake (with a dense growth of cattails) on the third.
Even though cottage/camping area is technically a spacious "backyard" I did feel like I was camping. The "cottage" is pretty much the size of an Expedition tent.
I stayed for five nights. I precooked my meals and home intending to heat them over the fire but ended using the microwave instead.
For this time year (late October) this is good option. If the weather gets nasty (too cold or even snow) the "cottage" is a wonderful backup.

Such a beautiful location, we felt so secluded! We saw deer, an eagle and a little downy woodpecker gave us a show on a tree just outside the screened in porch which was a favorite spot for our morning coffee and to listen to the rain. So peaceful .
The water crossing was indeed a challenge with glacier cold water I decided to take a wrong step on a slippery rock and do a face plant in the cold water!
With pretty much only my pride hurt (and a video my hubby happened to be taking of me at the time) it definitely made a memorable trip!
We would definitely come back! And I were not to step now! ;)

We loved "glamping" here! The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect...secluded, yet so close to several gorgeous hiking spots. The stargazing was incredible. Our pups (one of whom is scared of other dogs and people) were so happy to have the seclusion. It was the perfect spot to spend our days hiking, and our nights being cozy in the cabin!

Really great little spot. We brought our new lab puppy and she loved the freedom and space to run. Made a few easy runs to Red Wing for hiking and shopping. This place is close to everything and yet has the feel of being a million miles from the rat race.

Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses.
We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!

4 nights at The Loft at Strawberry Hill Farm
We stayed here for our anniversary weekend and had a great time. The dwelling is a well renovated and spacious loft in a barn at the back of a property. Although physically near other hobby farms, it felt secluded and private.
It’s a short drive, about 20 minutes, north to Stillwater and all the amazing dining options or the same distance south to Afton State Park with its hiking trails.

Weekend Trip to Rustic Log Cabin with Stunning View
The view of rolling hills, fields and forest was indeed lovely, especially with the Autumn colors. We loved the dark night sky, and could see all kinds of stars, milky way, meteors, satellites. The cabin is cozy and comfy and the beds were too! We enjoyed cooking over the fire outside, and using the propane griddle. Hosts are super warm, friendly and positive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights.
The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people.
It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt.
Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

Weekend Trip to Hoppensteadt Hills
Very last minute, I realized I needed to go camping: my stay in Site 1, Birch, was just what I was seeking for some nature nurturing. The site was private as promised (in fact I had whole campground to myself) and beautifully tucked in the woods. The yurt tent is well designed (side pockets, table in middle around center pole, also with pockets for stashing gear). Outhouse was a bit of a hike, though even the walk was pleasant, and so clean: the automatic light inside (and solar lights outside) was unexpected nice touch! I enjoyed the barred owl, sand hill cranes at night; great blue heron on one of our hikes on the property. I didn't think about it being duck hunting season, so the early morning and late evening distant gun sounds were scary for my dog, and the 2nd night fox barking was quite startling! But a good reminder we're in the woods! Maryam was helpful with answering questions during booking.
