Short drive from the Namekagon River which is great for tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. Due to a recent review, I am also adding here that swimming from our property is not ideal. The lake tends to be weedy during warm summers. There are places to swim nearby, so if you are booking with the sole intent of being able to swim, please be aware that this is likely not the best site for you unless you are willing to drive to a nearby beach.

It's just one site near the lake. The driveway is an easement that runs from Bertram Road across my neighbor's property and continues on past my property to the next two properties. Secluded little nook close to beaches, parks, & towns. Not far from main highway & a lovely little drive down some maintained gravel roads. Caitlin is super friendly & provided a perfect spot to rest for a couple days before I started the next leg of my journey. The hosts are close by if you need anything, so even though you're secluded in the woods, there is a comfort knowing people are close by in case of emergency. They also supplied firewood, an electrical outlet, large fire pit, & big picnic table next to the parking pad. They even have trails right on the property! It felt like staying at a campground, without the chaos that campgrounds & RV parks can sometimes bring. It was a great last minute decision and I will definitely look forward to staying here again.

Love it here! It was our second time and will be back. The lot is so nice and such a great location. Awesome trail just a mile down the road and so much to do in Trego and Spooner. Definitely check out Strongman Smokehouse and brewery!

Weekend Trip to Rustic Haven Retreat on 80 acres

Beautiful views and sandhill cranes. Nicely cut area for the dogs to play. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the camp spot (fire pit) was right off the side of the home on the property. We were not comfortable camping so close to someone's house, and while they were there. We decided to leave early.

Gorgeous property. We stayed over night on our road trip. It was so nice to have a place to stop be able to walk and just enjoy. My dog is scared of everything and he loved this spot! Very nice host and property.

Loved the peace and quiet and being able to have the dogs off leash. The site downstairs by the r over was very nice and the ability to have a fire in a few different spots was nice.

I camped close to their house on the river with picnic table and fire ring. It was grassy but level. Great hosts! Just ask Gail for a tour of her greenhouses! Great micro greens, produce and plants!!

3 nights at Bears Den

We loved the restaurant and they had a bunch of games. Close to the casino and other small towns. Also near a few state parks. It is practically on a train track so if you were going for quiet, you might not enjoy camping here but we loved the trains. Great price fir full hook ups... We had fun.

Weekend Trip to Rustic Haven Retreat on 80 acres

The property is very spacious, quiet and well take care of. The host is very responsive and easy to talk to. There was PLENTY of space for my dog to explore ( think two freshly mowed large , irregularly shaped oat fields plus a large natural lawn around the camping spot and down to the barn. I liked the tree lines and higher grass to set boundaries for him. The very minimal traffic on the dirt road kept things quiet and the road pleasurable to walk on. Due to the heat, we choose to make use of the electric hookup. The hookup is close to the house ( see photo), but since nobody was there it was a non issue. Over the official camping spot is a bright light that you might like or not. On a cooler day, we would have chosen to drive past the official spot and closer to the barn for better stargazing without the light. It’s nice to have a Hipcamp with choices :)

It was beautiful! The parking area isn’t far from the site and the cart is super handy! There is a nice trail down to the river so there was no worries on getting lost. Loved having campfires!
