It's just one site near the lake. The driveway is an easement that runs from Bertram Road across my neighbor's property and continues on past my property to the next two properties. There is hardly any vehicles that use it and it provides nice access to the camp site.

Weekend Trip to Wilderness voyage

Wonderful spot with a very friendly host! We really enjoyed our stay — the site had convenient electrical and water hookups. There’s also a trail that leads directly down to the lake, which was a great bonus. Plenty of additional amenities nearby, and we especially loved having a dog park close by. Plus, there are several great restaurants just a short drive away, so grabbing a delicious dinner after a day outdoors was easy and enjoyable!

Secluded Ice Age Trail Camping

Nestled aside several glacial deposits sits a 40 acre lot with multiple spots for camping. From dense maple forest to a meadow with young white pines, this property has it all. I keep several areas mowed and there is plenty of room for parking. At the moment, there is no official outhouse so we recommend following the "leave no trace" guidelines. Property is about 4 miles from Straight Lake State Park and under 1 mile to two different segments of the ice age trail. The main camping area sits high and shielded from the road by a wooded ridge. Rustic gravel driveway to main camping area. Traversable by most vehicles and campers. No electricity or water here. Just space to be in peace and a fire pit.

It also has a solar light for night-time visits. CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. *We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however. ** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you will see some construction clutter. We will never be working during your stay, however - you'll have the place to yourself unless otherwise agreed upon. Feel free to view the cabin from the outside but please do not enter the structure.

The land was purchased by the Sway family in the late 70's from a farmer and has been in the family since. Since living here we have used the land for hiking, gardening, wood harvesting, selling Christmas trees, and now we are excited for our new adventure of opening a small part of our land for camping. The crackle of a driftwood fire on the beach provides the perfect soundtrack as you watch for shooting stars and the aurora. Stock up on supplies and explore the charming industrial town of Superior, WI – 15 minutes from your campsite. Spend a day mountain biking the Duluth Traverse and touring the the wonderful local dining and tap room scenes of Duluth and Superior. Canal Park, downtown Duluth, is a 25 minute drive. There are places to swim nearby, so if you are booking with the sole intent of being able to swim, please be aware that this is likely not the best site for you unless you are willing to drive to a nearby beach.
