We were out adventuring so we barely spent any time at the cabin but it was everything we needed for a landing place at the end of each day! I appreciated the host's taste in books and coffee mugs 🖤 We had a little trouble finding it in the dark the first night (the mailbox being around the corner confused us lol) but arrive when it's still light and you should have no problem! Eric also responded right away to make sure we found it ok which was much appreciated. We loved the outdoor shower and I was grateful for the kettle to make tea each night. Thanks so much!

Little bit of a walk from parking to the Amnicon cabins but a very easy walk at that. There are 2 beds with actual mattresses and 2 double bunks with thinner mattresses. Beds were very comfy. Screens on the windows and curtains to pull shut. Bring toilet paper for the outhouse. Outhouse can get a bit smelly - toilet is a seat over a 5 gallon bucket. Overall, it was a nice cozy stay for the evening.

I’m so glad my very first solo camping trip with my dog was at The Dome! When I booked the listing, there was an option to pay for a couple hours before and after the booking time and I definitely took advantage of that and I’m so glad I did. I had been needing this break from the stress of life situations and have been looking forward to it so much. Inside The Dome is a perfect set up. It is nice and cozy with just the basics as you see in the listing pictures and the toilet was fine to use. There are instructions there for how to pack it out. Linda was even kind enough to have a box of dry firewood available, and the fire pit is pretty big. I did make a small fire too! There are some trails that are easily walkable. Next, as another camper at the site noted in their review: birds, birds birds. I used my Merlin app and just sat and enjoyed all the sounds. I even got to see a few of the birds and I did bring my binoculars. I also saw two different hummingbirds. Come prepared for a few ticks. I used “Wondercide” for Baxter. It’s part of camping! We loved "glamping" in one of Camp Amnicon's adirondack-style cabins. It was so cool to be perched on the shore of Lake Superior AND we got to see a porcupine! We'd love to camp here again.

Weekend Trip to Crooked Creek Retreat

The Pine Hunters Cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. It has all the items you need for camping, and the comfort of sleeping inside. From the second you walk in the door you can exhale and relax. The dining area was perfect for dinner when the weather was too much. We loved the cards/books and games strategically placed the cabin. Our favorite detail we experienced was the viewfinder. We reminisced about being kids and enjoyed the throwback! The fireplace kept the cabin nice and warm when its 35 degrees outside. The landscape was INCREDIBLE. We saw wild turkeys, Sandhill Cranes, and the STARS with zero light pollution. The outhouse is clean and so easy to access. The fire pit was ideal for some Dutch oven pot roast, s’mores and singing! We can’t wait to come back!

2 nights at Crooked Creek Retreat

A beautiful place! We had a great time there. The cabin is really nicely set up, no uncertainties while there. Naomi’s directions and details were perfect. Many nice settings to gather: the big kitchen table, main room, fire pit. We had a big fresh ol’ hike on the trails surrounding the property. Many sweet little books and Lincoln logs to amuse the youngins. Highly recommended. Thank you

2 nights at Crooked Creek Retreat

This is such a perfect getaway! It was cozy (once we got the fire going which didn't take long), quiet, beautiful, and invitational. It was perfect for lying low and enjoying simplicity. The decor was also fun and meeting Naomi gave some added appreciation for the history of this place. I'm excited to visit again!
