The first time we viewed this property, we knew we were home. The woods, fields, wildlife, and house (created almost entirely from the lumber harvested from the land) drew us in. We purchased the home and 40 acres in 2018. Since then it has been a labor of love to make it everything we dream. A campground suitable for horseback riding was the goal for W15266. This was where the original homestead stood (firepit area). That home was transported across 95 on Davis road to become an Amish home. This area was overgrown and filled with rubbish, but still had a great deal of suitable plants hidden in the raspberries. We are continually working to groom it, and eventually, hope to better level the drive and sites and cover them with gravel. We need more and better fire pits and intend to have at least one more cabin- perhaps created from a refurbished corn crib? This cabin was refurbished in 2020 from the original homestead’s summer kitchen (where food was prepared to keep the house from getting too warm). Although it may have been easier to demolish and start over, Julie convinced Craig that the history was worth it. ;) I can’t tell you how disGUSTING it was, but we found treasures like the chair upstairs, the ironing board, and items on the walls and cupboards amongst the piles of Asian beetles and mouse chewings. Our current project you see in front is the bath/shower house. It has a toilet and shower and was completed 2021. With expansion, we will add one more toilet on the other side. The old shed in front, is a disaster. We fluctuate the same way we did with the summer kitchen: bulldoze or refurbish? It currently houses our equipment and lumber, but someday, we are hoping to have a small country Tiki bar. Craig has received the liquor license already. We love tucked away country bars with unique flavors, so we hope we can offer this to our customers. Jeske Equestrian is also a boarding/training facility. We built the horse barn in 2019, and last year we put up a 60x180 indoor riding arena. Maintaining and creating trails has been extensive. Keeping up on the signage and the trail map has been nearly impossible since Craig loves creating new ones with the skid steer on a regular basis! We are working on the pond area to be more recreational in our future as well. Thanks again for choosing us. We hope to see you again! Weekend Trip to Riverside Roost

We had such a wonderful time at Riverside Roost! The campsite right along the river is stunning and the fresh eggs, bread, & jam were delicious. If you are a big critter fan this is the spot for you! Lots of frogs, fish, turtles, crawdads, bugs, etc. as well as the chickens that wander around! Paddling along the water is a treat and the dam, albeit a little noisy, brought a nice cool air to the site. The campsite itself is nestled into the property and I think it’s a great site, though if you want more options for walking trails/exploring I’d utilize the plenty of parks and public sites in the area as well. We can’t wait to come back!

we had an amazing time at Kelli’s campsite!! everything was so beautiful and well maintained. We got a wheelbarrow of wood which was perfect for us! We loved saying hi to the chickens. She was very kind and accommodating. Would love to come back soon!!

5 nights at Riverside Roost

Relaxing and pretty secluded. This was the 2nd time returning and I decided to stay sun-fri. We saw, maybe 2 other people there. Still very very low to no light pollution to do stargazing weather permitting of course. Kelli reached out more than a few times to make sure we were doing ok and if we needed anything and to make sure to let her know if we did. Great hosts. We definitely be back next year.

We had a fantastic camping experience. Kelli has put a lot of work & thoughtfulness into the site. Do yourself a favor and order her homemade bread! It was still warm when we arrived. We recommend opting for the full wheelbarrow of wood! It’s pleasant to sit around the campfire and listen to the dam sounds, pared with watching the birds dive into the water for fish. The river was pleasant to kayak down even in 50/60° weather. Coming back up to the launch site was a great work out!

Located in a beautiful rural area. The bathroom building was great! We visited the Lake Wazee Recreation area and that was beautiful. The electric ped had 20/30/50. We didn’t have horses, so I’m sure that would made it even better. Very nice stay.

This campsite was magical! Our party of 8, including 4 kids, enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and sitting around the fire. Kelli is a phenomenal host; very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. We took advantage of the opportunity to purchase homemade bread and jam and it was amazing. The mosquitos were biting but so were the northern! Bring bug spray and fishing poles and you’ll be set. We will definitely camp here again.

Nice, well-kept handful of sites. Fully functional bathroom is an added treat! Noise levels range from dead quiet, to trains, to roosters in the distance. None of the noises were persistent and the surrounding area is beautifully rural. Julie is friendly and communicative. A pleasant pit stop during a long trip!

Loved the setting. If you love fishing right next to your tent. This is the place. The dam area holds a lot of different fish species. Very to no light pollution. If the sky's clear, the stary sky is amazing. The dam can be a little loud but if you like that kinda white noise to sleep. Won't be a problem. Highly recommended. The hosts were amazing and never felt unwanted or rushed. Will definitely be back.

Cant recommend this site enough. The host was very accommodating. The site was beautiful! Great fishing opportunity for the boys! My son wanted to go camping with his friends for his 16th birthday and had a great time. The host even put up a "Happy Birthday" banner for him❤️❤️ so sweet. This will definitely be our go to next year for the boys to get together again!

We’re really happy we found Julie’s land! It’s perfect for what we need for a night’s stay. The area was clean and we enjoyed the nature around us (as we’re the only one camping that night 😉). The electric hookup was so appreciated as we were able to use our air conditioning in this summer heat. The biggest surprise and very much appreciated was a really nice camping bathroom with shower & flush toilet. We will surely come back here should we be in this area in the future. Thank you Julie!
