Wild Yough is located in Southern Garrett County, Maryland very close to Herrington Manor State Park, Swallows Falls State Park, and the quaint mountain village of Oakland. The property adjoins thousands of acres of Garrett State Forest and hundreds of acres of state land along the Youghiogheny River. The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away. “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh. This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property. And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. Take the trail to “High Bluff”, then cross the Snyder property line (Permission for trail access only – do not leave trail!), then descend down and cross the bridge across Herrington Manor Creek (a stocked trout stream!). So calming and a good place to sleep! We were just spending the night but would be a great place to spend a weekend. Sweet cats greet you, also ducks and chickens. Fridge, microwave, and coffee pot available. Enclosed bathroom with shower and toilet inside. Great little diner down the road! Just be advised there is no signal there or the surrounding area. The wifi works well for the TV but not great for cellphones.

Really enjoyed camping on Vincent's campgrounds! We went for three nights in late October and the fall foliage was out of a painting. The coffee pavilion was cute and I thought the firewood was a good deal. We were on RF2, one of the large riverfront campgrounds and really enjoyed being right on the water. No one else was on the other two riverfront campgrounds so the privacy was nice; not too many trees in between our camp and RF3 if there had been others there. We took a drive up to the Olson Observation tower (maybe 15 minutes away) and it was a view I'll never forget. Definitely the highlight for me!

Fourth Moon Camp was perfect. Nice and secluded but only a few minutes drive to a couple historic general stores with restaurants and everything you'd need. The Camp is literally right behind Seneca Rocks on a private property with amazing views. Wade was kind enough to stock us up with more than enough firewood and was super helpful prior to and during our arrival. We are already making plans to return!

Our spot was very quiet & peaceful ~ plus the stars put on a beautiful show at night! We were briefly visited by a cow & enjoyed listening to the birds that flew by. Definitely a Hipcamp worth checking out ~ I would love to return & stay the night in one of the small lodging spots, the property had a lot to explore & much to offer.

My friends and I had a great time at Cabin 3! The hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries, and the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin can comfortably fit more than four people and still has plenty of space to move around. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were clean. It’s the best place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good company. Highly recommend!
