Early September Update: The river is at its 100% peak best summer quality. Still quite warm and PERFECT for lounging, floating, kayaking and snorkeling (20 ft visibility or better).
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.

CHOOSE YOUR STAY
Pitch a tent in the forest, gather at a riverfront campsite, or choose a rustic cabin, the Bohemian Bus Retreat, our wood-stove tipi, or RiverCamp Lodge with its two glamping tents. RV1–RV4 offer electric and seasonal water hookups; RV6–RV10 are primitive RV sites without hookups. The former RV5 location is now RiverCamp Lodge.
Riverfront sites have different group limits: RF1 includes eight guests with a maximum of 12; RF2 includes 10 with a maximum of 16; RF3 includes six with a maximum of eight. The Bus has eight indoor sleeping spaces across two buses. The tipi has four cots, with outdoor tent space for additional registered guests. RIVER DAYS AND FOREST EVENINGS
Enjoy the designated river access areas, fishing, wading, swimming, tubing and kayaking when conditions allow. Bring your hiking boots and bikes to explore nearby trails and the Hendricks pedestrian swinging bridge. River levels and currents change with rainfall; supervise children and choose activities appropriate to the conditions.
SHARED FACILITIES
Campground porta-potties and the Coffee Pavilion are available to guests. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate cost $2 per cup. The wood-fired sauna is booked separately, and firewood is available for purchase. Water systems are winterized November 1–April 15; plan accordingly and review your listing’s water details. Parsons is approximately four miles away for shopping and dining.

We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. Google link, trail map, and campsite location map will be emailed the day before arrival. The onsite Porta John is cleaned every month.
Prior to the first family inhabiting this gravel road it was used as a bird sanctuary. To this day, the entire road maintains one of the most diverse displays of Appalachian aviary wildlife.

There are 300+ acres of public land less than one mile away with miles of ATV and hiking trails and stocked ponds. If you're a fan of waterfalls just 4 miles down river is Arden Falls, one of our areas best kept secrets. The Tygart Valley River is one of the top kayaking rivers in the country. Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore. Well known hiking trails such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and the Dolly Sods are all within an hour drive. Go to Nelson Rocks for the ultimate climbing experience on the Via Ferrata.

Close to Snowshoe Mountain, at only 1 mile drive from the entrance to Snowshoe Mountain Resort.
This is a great spot for mountain bikers and river lovers. So close to snowshoe and affordable makes this an easy decision. Also the wildlife, flowers, and river on the property make this a truly powerful place. There is some traffic and noise from the road but it quiets down through the night and all you can hear is the trickle of the stream.
We have a lovely 20 acre are that has easy to pull up to camp sites and some that take a short walk but are able to camp right near the river bed. We offer camping for all ranges of groups and travelers. We have campsites for tents, cars and vans, big RV's and Trailers, and then group sized sites. Please contact us and we can accommodate you in any size or style. We have cheap options for the solo and travelers on budgets and we have some nice options to get furnished tents and private fireplaces, with private river views and beach/play areas.

There are 300+ acres of public land less than one mile away with miles of ATV and hiking trails and stocked ponds. If you're a fan of waterfalls just 4 miles down river is Arden Falls, one of our areas best kept secrets. The Tygart Valley River is one of the top kayaking rivers in the country. Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore. Well known hiking trails such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and the Dolly Sods are all within an hour drive. Go to Nelson Rocks for the ultimate climbing experience on the Via Ferrata.

Early September Update: The river is at its 100% peak best summer quality. Still quite warm and PERFECT for lounging, floating, kayaking and snorkeling (20 ft visibility or better).
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.
Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Campground
Slow down among the forests and river scenery of Tucker County, West Virginia. Our 36-acre campground has approximately 2,100 feet of Dry Fork River frontage, with wooded campsites, riverfront gathering spots and year-round stays near Parsons and Monongahela National Forest.
CHOOSE YOUR STAY
Pitch a tent in the forest, gather at a riverfront campsite, or choose a rustic cabin, the Bohemian Bus Retreat, our wood-stove tipi, or RiverCamp Lodge with its two glamping tents. RV1–RV4 offer electric and seasonal water hookups; RV6–RV10 are primitive RV sites without hookups. The former RV5 location is now RiverCamp Lodge.
Riverfront sites have different group limits: RF1 includes eight guests with a maximum of 12; RF2 includes 10 with a maximum of 16; RF3 includes six with a maximum of eight. The Bus has eight indoor sleeping spaces across two buses. The tipi has four cots, with outdoor tent space for additional registered guests. Check each listing for its sleeping arrangements, included guest allowance, total capacity and extra-guest charges.
RIVER DAYS AND FOREST EVENINGS
Enjoy the designated river access areas, fishing, wading, swimming, tubing and kayaking when conditions allow. Bring your hiking boots and bikes to explore nearby trails and the Hendricks pedestrian swinging bridge. River levels and currents change with rainfall; supervise children and choose activities appropriate to the conditions.
SHARED FACILITIES
Campground porta-potties and the Coffee Pavilion are available to guests. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate cost $2 per cup. The wood-fired sauna is booked separately, and firewood is available for purchase. Water systems are winterized November 1–April 15; plan accordingly and review your listing’s water details. Parsons is approximately four miles away for shopping and dining.

All campsites are well spaced apart and feature a huge view, fire pit, swing, chairs, bench, and a campsite cooker. Mushroom Trail featuring full size DoDo birds and giant connect 4 game is now open and free to all guests. Our private roads are in great shape. We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. Google link, trail map, and campsite location map will be emailed the day before arrival. The onsite Porta John is cleaned every month.
Prior to the first family inhabiting this gravel road it was used as a bird sanctuary. To this day, the entire road maintains one of the most diverse displays of Appalachian aviary wildlife.

It's hard to find a campsite where you're not close to other campers. And although I wish we had a little more solitude, everything was as advertised, and the host was extremely responsive and helpful.
Ultimately it all comes down to what you're looking for. If you want to be completely alone in the wilderness, this is not the place. But if you just want to camp, grill out, and have access to a beautiful spot on the Potomac, this checks all the boxes.

We had such a wonderful visit to Taylor’s Landing. Greg and his daughters were exceptional hosts and made us feel very welcome and taken care of. The hilltop site was beautiful. We took my 10 year old son and his buddies camping for his bday party. We took the towpath to the explore the cave. Swam in the river. Played around in the fields and told ghost stories around the fire. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

i loved tent camping here! the host greg and his daughter elyse were very friendly, present, and accommodating. we camped nestled in by paw paw trees, spice bush, and golden rod. a short walk to the river for a morning dip. we were greeted by two sweet kitties. will definitely come back when i’m back this way :3

This was a beautiful stay and campsite! The river was amazing and it was the biggest campsite I've ever stayed in, there was plenty of space for 3 tents and more! The camp store was nice to have and the milkshakes were delicious! There is a nearby property that had a rooster that loved to crow early in the morning (4:10 am!), so it was a little tough for our group to sleep in, but the campsite itself was peaceful and quiet otherwise. Loved having our own bathroom!

Greg and his daughters are one of the friendliest people I ever met. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and do their best to provide. We sadly we're expecting rain the last day and he and his daughter made sure to warn us to move our car up the hill as the rain would make it impossible for it to go up. The location was just as advertised and close to the path to c&o canal along w access to Potomac river. We also got to see the cave and a cool water pump along the way. The camp site is one huge open field. Which is nice as I felt safe but it was big and spaced out enough to have out own privacy.

such an expansive campsite with gorgeous night sky views and not to mention the sunrise! picnic table and fire pit are the perfect addition to this rustic location. try not to arrive after dark if you can help it; it’s a windy and sorta narrow mountain road to get there and the horseshoes can be hard to spot for the hidden valley site at night (easy during the day).

If you’re looking to be off the beaten path in a quiet & relaxing setting, Brian‘s Field of Dreams is exactly what you need. The drive up to his property is on a narrow two lane road. I didn’t have much experience with this type of driving but with my capable Tacoma and its ability to downshift into lower gears, the drive was actually fun (a bit scary for the wife). Hinton is a small old town with pretty much everything you need. We found the people they are very friendly and helpful. Brian was very responsive and communicative. We would definitely stay again when in the area.
