It’s been a large adjustment with many precious memories in tow. This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. This property was once part of a 200 acre cattle ranch turned into a Christian community. The families shared meals, home-schooled their children and had a home-based church. They raised their own food in a 3 acre garden and orchard along with chickens and cows for milk, meet and eggs. Two of the original families still own some of the acres although the community was dissolved and much of the property sold to other people. There is no electricity on the property.  For your own safety and peace of mind, please keep all food in bear safe containers or locked in your cars. If you forget anything, the Washougal River Mercantile is two miles away where you can buy gas and groceries.  Local hiking trails on the Columbia Gorge:  Cape Horn Trail just 3 miles from our property and Beacon Rock/Hamilton Mountain trail is a 15 minute drive.   We can give you directions to our favorite swimming hole for cooling down on hot summer days in the Washougal river. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. Excellent! We loved it. Exactly as advertised. Safe place in a residential neighborhood. The park mentioned in the ad was the perfect place to walk the dog. Hosts were very nice, pleasant, and helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Whitney was great and very helpful. I. stayed in the grove of trees and it was gorgeous! A lot of options for camp sites, great view, and quiet. There was a basketball court, volleyball net, and dodgeball, plenty of fire pits, and games and fun activities in the little glass house. Would stay again, may bring a group this summer

Weekend Trip to Rhoda's Joy

So glad we got to stay here - it was actually a perfect fall spot! The land is really beautiful and very well taken care of. The spots are really nice with firepits (when open), and picnic tables and space. You can definitely see the other camping spots, but I was really impressed with how much space is generally all around the land. The walking trail is gorgeous. The pit toilet was well kept and clean, and the hosts were super kind!

The sites are all very unique. We loved out stay. Lots of salmon making a run up river right now. It was very cool to watch the salmon and also a big group of kayakers going by. Sites were clean. Wish we would have added the sauna add on. They looked really neat.

Brad’s hip camp is absolutely stunning! I had such a peaceful night solo camping and I highly recommend this place. I would definitely come back for sure. Also, this is a GREAT place for birding! I saw a hermit thrush (new lifer) among many others.

This is another spot that you can park your tent.

It was absolutely beautiful...an oasis of forest among the surrounding farmlands. We enjoyed to site, it was near the pond. sauna and outhouse, so everything was nearby. Nobody was at site 3, (which is pretty close by) so we had total privacy. We had a lovely time and would go there again!

My husband and I enjoyed a great stay at Sue's place in our travel trailer. The location feels private with nice trees, grass and a picnic table with canopy. We were close enough to Portland to visit family and then got to come back to our peaceful cozy spot each evening. I highly recommend.

Rhoda's Joy it's absolutely beautiful. It feels very private but close enough to have a quick getaway weekend. They only have 3 camps sites, we choose campsite #1 and the tend set up was so good, we fit 3 big tends with plenty of space. Additionally, the bathroom was incredible clean and very close to the site. 100% recommend this place. If you want extra privacy I suggest camp site #3, which is more on the back.

We absolutely loved our time at Celestine Fields. We showed up late after dark and the property owners sweet dog literally guided us to the campsites. We had a stunning view along with a magical sunrise, and our dog loved exploring the area. We met the property owner for a brief time, and she was very kind and welcoming. We also had a neighbor who was camping there for a longer stay and he was the sweetest guy. Overall recommend this Hipcamp and also recommend arriving while there’s still light out as it was hard to find the best spot for us in the dark! We explored the cute town of Carlton a bit and went wine tasting at Résonance up the road. Recommend doing the same!
