Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. The separate, but luxurious, bath house has a full sized shower, sink, and fully plumbed flushing toilet. There is even a small stacked washer and dryer available. Laundry soap available for purchase. Name brand (no dollar store stuff here) shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided.

There is only one bed and it is not recommended for small children to sleep in the loft as there is no safety rail or gate up there. If a child is present it is recommended (almost required) that they sleep on the couch in the lower living space.

We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey.
The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups!
Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi.
About the campground:
The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins.
There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊
The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

Offering a lovely, personal campsite area surrounded by beautiful trees nestled at back of a ranch with horses (and chickens) on the outskirts of the small, charming town of Yelm. (In some of the pictures you will see horses in camp area, but are not turned out when campers are there.) There is 20 amp elec. (which can safely power a 30 amp rv unless you run too many things at once) and water/hose. There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience.
We also offer a small bunk room in the barn. Heated and cooled (fan) with a small "kitchen" area, it has a pull out futon which sleeps 2 and requires you supply your own bedding and towels.
Our Internet connection out here in the country sometimes has outages which we cannot control. IF having reliable internet access is important to you, we may not be your best choice.
1 Hour to Mt. Rainier Nat. Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia Nat. Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing aplenty. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses, a fabulous movie theater and only 15 minutes to Red Wind Casino.
There is a railroad track next to the property, only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but it has never run after dark or early morning.
(We are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads and not highly traveled for the most part.)
**Trigger Warnings: We are near JBLM military base so you may occasionally hear military doings.
Country neighbors occasionally do target practice, so you may hear some shooting.

Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. Come stay in a 1985 Grumman Olsen bread truck reimagined as a one-of-a-kind tiny home on wheels. Picture a gorgeous modern-farmhouse interior wrapped in an antique rustic exterior. Add 5 acres of forest and you get the Château Camion.
It’s quiet, private, and full of character; a creative little retreat for guests who want something more memorable than a boring, overpriced hotel room.
Inside, the truck has everything needed for a comfortable stay: a couch that converts into a full bed, a kitchenette for preparing simple meals, a small work station and a hot indoor shower. Just outside, the outhouse includes an an eco friendly composting toilet. An outdoor seating area tucked among the trees offers a peaceful place to relax during the day or gaze towards the stars at night.
Guests are welcome to explore the full five-acre property and make use of the outdoor spaces throughout their stay. Settle into the hammock beneath old growth trees, take a swing on a park style bench, enjoy a meal at the picnic table or wind down beside the propane fire pit on those chilly summer evenings.
There are two powerful roof fans and two cross-breeze windows to help keep you cool in the summer. In the winter, a diesel powered heater will keep you warm. During warmer days, you could visit the nearby state park where they have trails and a gorgeous swimmable lake. We are also only a 5-10 minute drive from major amenities like restaurants and sightseeing attractions including the State Capitol. Between the months of August-October, there is a delightful family farm two minutes down the road. The corn maze starts in September.

Fred’s cabin was seriously the perf ct weekend get-away for my husband and I! The property was so peaceful and beautiful, the cabin was warm and very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed. We had so much fun exploring the island on the electric bikes! Definitely recommend staying here!

Stayed at the Dream Dome, it was very clean and cozy. Lots of provided amenities made the stay very smooth and convenient. Enjoyed the provided propane grill and cooking supplies. Just steps away from the beach.

Weekend Trip to Elfendahl Forest
Elfendahl forest was a magical, lovely, easy getaway from Seattle. The Wanderbus was well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub was a definite plus! Gary maintains the property so it is clean and has all the amenities you need. It’s hard to believe it is completely off-grid. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique “glammping” experience.

Weekend Trip to White Moth Lodge
This was our favorite Hipcamp stay to date! The site had everything we could need and then some. The barn was a perfect sleeping space for my partner and me. We appreciated the included firewood and s’mores fixings which we enjoyed on our second night outside at the fire pit. The string lights were both aesthetically pleasing and also helpful in illuminating the paths to the fire pit and well-kept and clean outhouse! We loved wandering around the property to find different types of mushrooms and hear a variety of birdsongs. You really feel like you’re out in the beautiful forest but close enough to town to get what you need and a good bite to eat!

Forest bathing and a wonderful vintage tiny home on the forest. Cooked great food in the lovely oven and range. Tyler daily lipsticks the honey bucket with daily cleaning including flowers and essential oil. Beautiful large leaf maple forest and a host that welcomes you to the experience.

This site was easy to get to using the ferry, and was only about 15 minutes away from the terminal. The yurt was tucked into the woods, a few minutes walk from the main house, and felt totally secluded once we were there. Everything was clean, pleasant, and comfortable. Tea and coffee were well stocked, and the candles made the off grid site super romantic. Depending on your cellular provider, you might not have service while there. The toilet was a little finicky, but there’s a clean outhouse behind the yurt and Virginia was super responsive. I plan to come back again!

2 nights at Elfendahl Forest
We had a great time at this spot! It was really cool, it was fun and artistic and everything was really pretty! Unfortunately, one of our little doggos was freaking out on her first time camping, so we didn't get to use some of the really cool spaces like the games and communal kitchen. I'm a chef so I was really excited about that. It did look like it was a really neat setup though. Our bus was super cute and really comfy and the space around it was nice and relaxing. We didn't get to go around to the other parts as much as we would have liked but I will say that our nervous dog Zoe did love the rabbits and chickens. She didn't want to leave them LOL. Hopefully we'll be back again soon, maybe next time with a dog sitter. 😂😂😂

We loved the beautiful layout space and ended up sleeping really well. The hammock was such a sweet touch to check out the starts at night. There was an issue with the toilet so we were offered a discount to use the woods instead. All in all, it was a great stay and Virginia was fast with communication!

We just enjoyed a long weekend here with friends. Lots of room for the kids and dogs to play and easy trails. Bathrooms and sink area were clean, lots of lawn games, hot tub close to the sites. It was removed enough from the city to feel like camping but still very convenient. Short drive to several fun beaches
There are a few sites and they are close to each other but everyone was very friendly. Host was very responsive when we had questions
