05/27/26 Update: The forest cleanup project concluded in the summer of 2024, but the land and camping area looks extremly different compared to the original photos shared. There are still trees and a great deal of privacy, but it is in no way the same. We are still actively working on property improvements.

This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old-growth forest, and a phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet except for the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. The property is minutes away from the Blanchard Mountain Trailhead. There are numerous biking and hiking trails within a short distance, and while we aren't yet at the point of building trails here at the property, that will be coming shortly.
This property was once a show home, but a fire occurred over 10 years ago, and the house was not rebuilt. While the remaining ruins are minimal, it sets an exciting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photo shoot. We have been actively working on cleaning up the property, but there are occasional spots where we find leftover fire debris that the previous occupant scattered throughout the property. If you find such a spot during your stay, please let us know.
Within the property is a small orchard with apples, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, and . While you are welcome to graze during your stay, we ask that you not harvest a great deal to ensure enough for everyone to enjoy.
There are fish in the pond, and though fishing is allowed, we can not claim what type or ease due to the nature of the plant growth. It is not stocked and is only fed by the area's waterways.
I have been asked several times if the fire ban is still active. Yes, it is. There is no longer access to a hose, so being able to quickly put out a fire in case of an accident is also more concerning. Sadly, with the last several years of intense summers, our area is at risk of drought again this summer.
If you are interested in reserving the entire property for a completely secluded stay, please contact me directly. That option is $175 for a party of up to 20 individuals, but no more than 2 camper vans/RVs and four additional cars per night.

Surrounded by blueberry fields, we purchased this property to enjoy camping with our three kids, extended family, and friends away from crowded campgrounds . Offering the use of it to others through Hipcamp is a fun way to share with others when not in use by us. We hope others will find the same joy we do.
Property access is directly off the road with any vehicle. We have had large motor homes on the property without any trouble. Traffic is minimal with mostly other people off to enjoy their recreational land. The nearest neighbors are about 500' away across the blueberry fields. You may occasionally hear our neighbors enjoying their property as well but the noises sound distant and haven't been a problem for us. Because we allow dispersed camping there may be other people on the property with you. Please select our group camping option If you are interested in having the entire property for yourselves or for an event such as a family reunion or large friend group camping trip.
The property is about one mile from the cascade bicycle trail which will take you to Sedro-Woolley in eleven miles or East to Birdsview Brewery in seven miles. If you explore even further East you'll find Act One Ice Cream Parlor adjacent to The Concrete Theater in Concrete. Check their website for hours and showings. A new local spot, Lyman Tavern, might also be a fun place to grab a bite to eat. Kids are allowed during certain hours.
Cozy up next to a campfire at our fire pit constructed last season. It is located in the center of the property. Posts with solar lights are also around the fire pit. The lights are operated by remote so lights can be turned off to star gaze. You are welcome to burn any wood already down.
Outdoor opportunities (hiking, biking, rafting) are in abundance from about any direction. To the East you'll find the North Cascade National Park, Baker Lake within the Mt. Baker National Forest, and Ross Lake National Recreation Area. Bicyclists will enjoy the close proximity to the Cascade Trail. Places to explore further from camp could be Deception Pass, Padilla Bay or the quaint towns of LaConner and Anacortes.
We do not live on site but could potentially be there upon your arrival setting up any "extras" you've requested or finishing property maintenance. We do have friends nearby who alert us to anything that doesn't look right.
***As this is a working agricultural area we want to be transparent that farm activities such a spraying and harvesting of the blueberries may occur along property boundaries. More than likely this will not happen during your stay but be prepared to head to town for ice cream or to the Birdsview Brewery while things settle down around camp. Please let us know if you have any questions. This has not been a problem for us yet personally.

Retreat to relax at Chuckanut Hills Farm and Campground, a 20-acre energy-regenerative, off-grid family farm nestled at the foot of Anderson Mountain and surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. 30 minutes south of Bellingham in the Chuckanut Mountains, the only finger of the Cascade Mountain Range that reaches all the way

This wooded forest is part of the Puget Lowland Forest Eco-Region. These hills were the native home of the Saquantch people, a Salish coast tribe that fished and hunted the mountains surrounding Lake Whatcom. They lived in long lodge homes and were later pushed out by the invading Lummi Tribe. The Lummi Tribe was later pushed out by Western logging companies, and the entire mountainous region was heavily logged for a number of years.
Where our farm now rests was once the second of many logging camps built by Ed English, and he cut our gravel farm road in 1900; a railroad ran through the lower part of our property, taking logs from Lake Whatcom down to the little boom town of Seattle.
Our intention while being caretakers of this ancestral land is to restore native plants, raise heirloom produce and heritage animals, and provide a restful nature paradise for people looking to spend time in the outdoors.

We are located minutes from I-5 and less than two hours from Seattle and Vancouver, Canada. Mount Baker National Forest and North Cascade National Park are both a short drive away. Additionally Lazy H Farms is only a few miles from the coast and there is lots to see and do in Skagit County!
THINGS TO DO NEARBY- Right across HWY 9 there are water activities at Big Lake, hiking and
gorgeous views at Little Mountain, and swimming at Clear Lake. There are plenty of local trails nearby
to explore. In downtown Mount Vernon you can walk the outdoor promenade along the Skagit River, get takeout from local restaurants and coffee shops, or visit unique
downtown shops.
Please note this is a working farm with working dogs protecting our livestock 24/7 and you may hear a few barks upon your arrival.

Wonderful spot, quiet, and Pamala was warm and welcoming. The property is undergoing work, so there are few frills; however, that's just how I like it. Lots of room to walk my dog. And she welcomed me to the apples; there were even a few blueberries left. They were delish. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

Site and campground were decent. Sites have some pretty uneven ground so I would recommend bringimg some blocks to level out your vehicle or trailer. Bathrooms were relatively clean and didnt smell. Had a little bit of an issue with the campground being overbooked and shuffling people around to different sites. Just some miscommunication.

We loved our time at Greenstone! The forest trails were beautiful, and the views of Mt. Baker were gorgeous. The location was also a great home base for easy day trips and exploring the surrounding area. Our host was helpful, responsive, and available whenever we needed anything. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Greenstone!

I loved how the camping area was on grass. Not dirt or gravel.It was very quiet and the hosts were great! It’s basically an open field so it was easy for me to use StarLink to connect and have phone service and Wi-Fi. And only a 15 minute walk to the ocean! This was wonderful for me and my dog.

Pamela communicated so well, and gave us clear instructions for how to access her property and where to park. She was very upfront about what she had to offer, and made sure we were OK with some specifics (no toilet, beehive near site) before accepting our booking request. The property was perfect for what we needed, it was very peaceful and our pup was able to romp around without worry of roads etc.

I So appreciate the healthy air in the restroom! There were no air fresheners automatically spraying toxic chemicals! This is such a great place to stay. It's a low key well organized basic campground that offers flush toilets, clean showers, electric and water hookups and septic dumping. The proximity to stores, restaurants and recreational options is perfect, far enough away to be peaceful yet close enough to easily get to whatever you want. And finally, the hosts were top notch, such pleasant people who were doing good work.

This was a great place to spend the night. We enjoyed it very much. I loaded my Merlin app and quickly had a list of birds to search for. Having access to power was great. We walked around the property with our dog and let him take his time sniffing as much as he wanted. (He also was treated to a few ripe blackberries). Pamela’s property is a wonderful place to relax and I would happily stay there again.

Nothing fancy, but the site is relatively level, the showers are hot, it’s quiet, and the price is cheaper than anything equivalent in town. (Seriously, the showers!) clean, friendly and responsive hosts, safe, close to ALL the things. We spent so much time hiking, going to the beach, shopping, this was the perfect place to rest and recharge in between. My only complaint is that the road on the way is quite narrow due to the bike lane, but that’s the main road. It’s actually very easy to maneuver once you’re at the fairgrounds themselves. Will stay again!

Just a quick easy quiet stop to explore from if that’s your plan. Close to everything. I just stopped to sleep but hookups convenient and I really appreciated the hot clean showers being available at no extra cost.
