Garden Zen Camping

Our house sits in the middle of 2 acres surrounded by trees and a creek that runs through our backyard. There are 8 kinds of fruit trees, 4 kinds of berries, a vegetable garden, flower gardens and shrubs, rose bushes and more flowering here during the spring, summer and fall months. The yard is covered with soft green grass, the perfect place to lay back and soak up some sun or sit under a shade tree. Which ever you prefer! Fishing the creek is also a nice laid back activity, the best spot being under the bridge on the left side of the yard. The creek is home to 3 kinds of salmon hatcheries up stream at clarks creek park and dog park. If you are feeling adventurous, you can float from the park back to our house. We have seen people on tubes, in kyayachs, on paddle boards and rafts come through! We haven't yet ourselves but plan to this year! It's not a very fast moving creek but it does ok. It is pretty shallow in some areas but over 6ft deep in others. We are pretty lucky to have an area that is over 6ft deep in several areas but also has shallow areas too! Pitch a tent in our 420 friendly backyard, located 1 mile from the most favored spot to throw your line in and catch a variety of fish. Grass sites, huge shade trees with running creek to help keep you cool or if you prefer an open sunny area we have those too. Pitch your tent anywhere you like. We are by the train tracks, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be your cup of tea. Parking is limited, so we will offer rides to and from the river if you can park off site. There is a few spots across the street from us also. Pack out what you pack in. Barbecue available for use, propane fires allowed during burn bans otherwise open fires are allowed. There is a charging station for your devices and a place to clean fish. You can bird watch here for hours, or watch the ducks and geese swim up and down the creek and if your really lucky you will see river otters swim up and down the creek too! They are pretty cool to see! We have outdoor toys and bikes for kids and volleyball, horseshoes, large dice, large scrabble, large jenga and more for all ages. Fishing not permitted on property but there are a lot of spots to go nearby. Showers are available upon request but are limited. Meals supplied if requested, must sign up by previous afternoon. Children who can't swim must wear life jacket if by the creek, we will supply them for you and if you want to float the creek we have floats available. It's also nice just to sit by the creek and meditate. We are located on the outskirts of town so you can escape the city life for a few days! Early and late check in avail. We don't have a strict check in or check out time.

Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

The eastern part of the Olympic Peninsula has loads of great trails around us in the Olympic National Park. Trailheads nearby include Big Creek, Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Dry Creek, Copper Creek, Wagonwheel Lake, Staircase Rapids, Big Log Camp, and Flapjack Lakes. Mount Ellinor Trail is rated 5 stars by many.

Bikes, E-bikes, paddle boards and kayaks can be rented from Vashon Adventures and Vashon Bikes.They also rent tents and some camping equipment. Before lighting an outdoor fire, please check with us. There are sometime burn bans for air quality and/or high fire danger. Generally, fires are allowed at the beach below the high tide line and must be put out COLD with water and buried with sand before leaving them unattended. You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful!

The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can enjoy a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests. There is a giant crystal housed in a gazebo that overlooks the surrounding fields and woods. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions which many are edible and healing plants. We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. If you like it wild we are the place for you. This is not a resort or English style garden. We purchased this 5 acres in 2008. It was a raw piece of land with waist high field grass and thick brush lining the river bank. We had a vision to develop this into a place where people could come and be refreshed. After 3 years of sweat equity we we witnessed the transformation into a park like setting with over 3 acres of mowed lawn, perfect for bocce ball, croquet, or working on your pitching iron. We are nestled at the end of a beautiful agricultural valley, surrounded by the foothills. Deer frequently come on the property looking for some special treats. One of our most relaxing activities is to sit in our lawn chairs with our feet in the river and let nature cool us on a hot summer day or sit on a tethered inner tube and let the river wash any worries away. The firepit is a great place to roast hot dogs, make smores but mainly just enjoy the hypnotizing dance of the flames and campfire conversation. If you are looking for a break from the rush and stress of city life, you have found it.3 RV sites on the North fork of the Neuwakum River. 15 minutes east of I-5, exit 71, 90 minutes to beach, 60 minutes to Mt. St. Helens, 60 minutes to Mt. Rainier, 5 seconds to peace and tranquility, prime agate hunting river. Sites 1&2 are on gravel pads. Site 3 is on the grass not a gravel pad. Each site has 20 and 50 amp electrical hookup, water, and a fire pit. Site 3 is farthest from the play toy and has its own access to the river. Have the kids bring their bikes to ride all over our 5 acre property. We have a sand pile for kids to enjoy so don’t forget your shovel and bucket! Note: When driving on North Fork road look for mile markers on shoulder of the road. Earthship Drive is 1/4 mile past the 8 mile marker. Entrance is identified by a large log sign "Clover Valley". This is a quiet and secluded camping location with ACCESS to the river, access to farm land, ponds and DNR land. Our camp spots are private and not stacked on top of each other. We also have cows in our neighboring farm and places for you to walk, trails to hike and places to fish and duck hunt. Right now we have dry camping with outdoor honey buckets. Our goal is to have showers and running water soon. We are working on a 💯 solar ran facility soon. We are wanting something that you can clear your mind, camp In peace. We want our campers to help in the developing process. We also offer wood for sale and all of our sites have wood burning areas. We also have ice and delivery services. WE ARE VW Friendly!!! Lol We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access.

Garden Zen Camping

Our house sits in the middle of 2 acres surrounded by trees and a creek that runs through our backyard. There are 8 kinds of fruit trees, 4 kinds of berries, a vegetable garden, flower gardens and shrubs, rose bushes and more flowering here during the spring, summer and fall months. The yard is covered with soft green grass, the perfect place to lay back and soak up some sun or sit under a shade tree. Which ever you prefer! Fishing the creek is also a nice laid back activity, the best spot being under the bridge on the left side of the yard. The creek is home to 3 kinds of salmon hatcheries up stream at clarks creek park and dog park. If you are feeling adventurous, you can float from the park back to our house. We have seen people on tubes, in kyayachs, on paddle boards and rafts come through! We haven't yet ourselves but plan to this year! It's not a very fast moving creek but it does ok. It is pretty shallow in some areas but over 6ft deep in others. We are pretty lucky to have an area that is over 6ft deep in several areas but also has shallow areas too! Pitch a tent in our 420 friendly backyard, located 1 mile from the most favored spot to throw your line in and catch a variety of fish. Grass sites, huge shade trees with running creek to help keep you cool or if you prefer an open sunny area we have those too. Pitch your tent anywhere you like. We are by the train tracks, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be your cup of tea. Parking is limited, so we will offer rides to and from the river if you can park off site. There is a few spots across the street from us also. Pack out what you pack in. Barbecue available for use, propane fires allowed during burn bans otherwise open fires are allowed. There is a charging station for your devices and a place to clean fish. You can bird watch here for hours, or watch the ducks and geese swim up and down the creek and if your really lucky you will see river otters swim up and down the creek too! They are pretty cool to see! We have outdoor toys and bikes for kids and volleyball, horseshoes, large dice, large scrabble, large jenga and more for all ages. Fishing not permitted on property but there are a lot of spots to go nearby. Showers are available upon request but are limited. Meals supplied if requested, must sign up by previous afternoon. Children who can't swim must wear life jacket if by the creek, we will supply them for you and if you want to float the creek we have floats available. It's also nice just to sit by the creek and meditate. We are located on the outskirts of town so you can escape the city life for a few days! Early and late check in avail. We don't have a strict check in or check out time.
