Deer Haven Family Farm

This is somebody's large open front yard. Looks to be more set up for rvs. Which is fine, but I showed up with 3 kids and the only tent spot there was a small patch of mowed grass save for the massive ant hill within the site. The farthest spot to put our tent from the hill within the mowed area was about 40 feet. I stood there for less than a minute and had too many ants for my comfort climb my sandals. When I told Kim (the gentleman in charge) that we couldn't camp here because of the hill, he pointed 40 feet away from the hill (were I stood before) and said the tent could go there. It was the start to memorial weekend, so there was a chance that nothing else would be available, but He was so unfriendly and the spot was so unhospitable that the kids and I could not stay there. For the 20 minutes we were there it was very uncomfortable. We lucked out though! There was still somehow a great spot available on a river. I did end up requesting a refund because tenting with millions of ants wasn't on the listing. The gentleman responded rudely of course, but did at least give me back $40 out of the $90 wasted. Which was fine. I might be a single mom on a budget, but I was willing to basically pay double somewhere/anywhere else. The kids and I have camped at a dozen or so hipcamps. Most are great and are exactly what they claim to be, but Deer Haven was the only one that we couldn't make the best of it.

My husband and I, and our 2 dogs, stayed here for 2 nights. Our site was far from the main road so vehicle noise was minimal. The site was across the driveway from the residence. We had to try fairly hard to get our trailer level, so bring extra blocks. It would be a fun place to have friends camping with you! Plenty of sites and room.

This is a great site for overnighting. It's just a couple miles off of I-5, but it's peaceful - you don't hear the freeway. The sites are on a large flat grass lawn. There's hookups for RV's if needed. Kim is a friendly host and I appreciated the opportunity to utilize instant booking.

We received a warm welcome from Kim on arrival. Kim let us know the location of the composting toilet, waste bins, etc. it was very easy to find the property and there was plenty of room to maneuver our trailer. The sites were very clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Nice quiet spot, just a few minutes from the highway. Kim was a friendly guy who came out and showed me the facilities. We would stay there again if in the area.

The owners were friendly and came out to meet us upon arrival. Pretty much an open field, but had full hookups, and was quiet. Plenty of space to walk my two dogs around. Never saw any deer, but did see some signs of them.

I arrived late and left early and didn't explore the amenities of the campsite. It was very convenient to the freeway, and there was no traffic noise. The directions were perfect - Google maps found it just fine.

We enjoyed camping at Deerhaven. It was very quiet and peaceful. The hookups worked great. They also have nice outdoor showers. It was a good overnight stop for us.

Me and my Girl Scout troop had a blast. It was very spacious and open. The kids had so much fun (and left us alone the whole time) . The showers were clean and as pictured. We had a wonderful time. The owners were there when we needed them. The kids had so many activities they were never bored.

Linda greeted us and showed us to the campsite when we arrived. Really beautiful property and cool creek in the back. Trampoline, zip line, swings were all super fun for the kids and us! We were at site 1 which is at the front of the property. The site was very clean and easy to hook up to. I think we were the only campers except for the last night so it was very peaceful and quiet. We had a great experience and would definitely go back.

Sites are spaced so you feel like you are camping. Fairly quite. Kids love the Zip-line, trampoline, and playing in the large yard. Showers are extra big and nice. Showers are behind house and not easy to find. Close to the Capital Forest and quite a few nice hiking trails. Millerslyvania State Park is also very close by and a wonderful place for many activities.

Easy hook'up, open space, fun site!

Site was in good condition as advertised. Kids had a great time on the trampoline and zipline and floating at the creek's swimming hole. Easy hook-up for our trailer and a nice, large field for relaxing and playing lawn games. We visited the nearby Tenino quarry pool as well as the lake at Millersylvania State Park for kayaking. Overall, a great stay at Kim and Linda:s - thank you!

Overall they were very nice people and communicated well with us. As for the site it was unlevel, the campground itself was cluttered and dirty, had to walk past a pile of garbage to get to the showers, and the outhouse wasn't convenient. I'd love to see them clean it up a and make more space.

Up on arrival we were greeted by Kim and Linda's son as they were away, He made us feel welcome and we were very pleased. Site 2 was a great spot where we got plenty of sun. It's a huge grassy area. The camp itself was nice and peaceful very quiet . Not much to explore or see at the camp though they do offer a few things for children so it is kid friendly. There were other campers who were all quiet and respectful. We found our way to the creek which was really y pretty. A little disappointed we couldn't get down close to it as it wasn't accessible. There was a homemade bridge that crosses the creek, we didn't cross over however. Over all it was a good experience and would recommend Kim and Linda's camp. Clean compost bathroom . Clean outdoor shower though we didn't use it.

A really nice quiet place to stay. RV sites with full hookups, and tent sites too, on 10 acres. Hosts are friendly and unobtrusive. I think there are only about 9 sites , so plenty of room between you and your neighbor.

This place is lovely and I was pleasantly surprised that it had full hook ups. Kim met me and gave me my choice of spaces. There are some full time rvers there as another review mentioned. This place is very kid friendly and my grandsons loved the open grass areas, the trampoline, and the creek. My biggest concern was the trash burning on the morning we left. Whatever was being burned let off heavy black smoke and triggered my grandson’s asthma. I had to give him his inhaler. If I stayed again I would call first and make sure no trash was being burned.

Actually stayed in Site #1 by the volleyball net. Good level ground. Owner met us as we pulled in and helped us get situated. Nice and quiet, full hook ups with 30amp service. Very easy in and out for our 45’ fifth wheel! Would definitely park here again!
