Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. This is such a special place! The Wanderbus was cozy and quirky and perfect. More than warm enough and Louis the Third is an immaculate toilet. I took advantage of the hot tub both nights and it’s such a great perk. Definitely try the tangerine essential oil stay with it! I came to take pictures and get some quiet reading time and it didn’t disappoint. I would recommend it so highly (as long as you don’t book when I want to come back!)

The off grid hot tub was unique and well worth the extra fee! Gary was so attentive and welcoming! Even though I came during a rainy time, the land was beautiful and whimsical. The staff there were all so accommodating and helped with anything I needed (firewood, the hot tub, heaters). The community kitchen was sooo much fun to use and the shower was amazing! It was fun to walk around and see the bunnies and chickens as well as see how hard the staff work to create more fun amenities for the future. Gary mills the wood himself and you can see how all of the structures are such a labor of love!

Weekend Trip to Hairy Eagle Lookout 🦅
This was a lovely place to camp with an incredible view! Level parking for our 25 foot trailer. There is some slight highway 101 noise, but nothing that would keep us from returning. It was a misty weekend, so we hunkered in most of the time. The clouds amongst the trees made for a beautiful view. We enjoyed going into the very small town to the Tipsy Whale for nice cider and beers. Mostly, we toured around and enjoyed the sea lions, seals, and many birds.

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. The camp, for the tent site… we arrived and she drove us all over her property and told us to just choose where we wanted to camp. We chose to stay in back of the horse area. While we could see the house from there, we didn’t care and if you want to move back in the woods further, there are spots back there too that would provide more privacy if you need that. This is a great site and a one of a kind experience being that close to the horses."

Two bathrooms with showers. There are powered and non-powered RV sites. Water is available at the water station but not directly at the camp sites. We are pet friendly. We offer firewood for sale on site, camp fires permitted outside of a burn ban. We do not provide garbage service, we expect everyone to carry out what they bring in. Guests love staying here: "Dean's acreage is a dream! We stayed there in our motorhome and absolutely loved it. We have two dogs and they are picky about making friends but adored Deans dogs. They are the sweetest and make the camping even more enjoyable. Dean was kind enough to show us his Meadery and the property so we felt comfortable exploring and walking around. We would definitely recommend it for other campers whether you have an RV, tent, van, etc. For reference we comfortably parked our 31 ft motorhome and we were able to hookup to electricity (only available in one spot so inquire with dean!). I would like to thank our many campers who came down from Canada and around the world to visit our small tract of tranquility. We are a one hundred year old family owned farm with an organic garden, Permaculture garden, an apiary, and Christmas trees on six acres. We have horseshoes, tether ball, a small library and disc golf. Early spring the frogs go crazy later followed by the sounds of nesting birds. Fall is the season for migrating birds that rest at the ponds next door. August is the time to fill up on blackberries. There are individual campsites with a barbecue and picnic table and a shared fire pit. The fire pit didn't see much use last two years because of the fire danger so we have moved it to an open area that will be safer and hopefully be open longer, there is also an area at each campsite if you want to bring a propane fire ring (or we will have some for rent). I want to thank past campers for their suggestions, they have been tremendously valuable. We are becoming increasingly suburban and there is some road noise that can be heard and even with farms on three sides of us, you still might hear our neighbors in the distance. Campsites one and four are across the road from each other and campsites two and three are adjacent to each other, perfect if you have another family traveling with you. The Washington State Fair is 3.9 miles/ 13 minutes away, Tacoma Dome 7.5 miles/ 18 minutes, Point Defiance Park Zoo and Aquarium 19 miles/ 30 minutes and Wild Waves water park is 15 miles/ 26 minutes away. Eagles, hawks and Ospreys are frequent visitors to our property.

For large RVs maneuvering skills are required to park on the level 23 ft long parking pads in the parking area down the hill from the road. It is a U-shaped drive-through, flat at the bottom of the small driveway hill. It has a main trail and many small pathways between ferns and hillocks. In an effort to preserve and protect this wild habitat, we have already planted 200 + Western Red Cedars, Douglas Firs, salal, snowberry, native current, and other native vegetation. This is a great private spot for an RV or similar vehicles and 2 tent circles. A firepit, and porta-potty next to each pad, another firepit in one of the 2 tent circles for each RV parking pad site. A completely natural untouched Pacific moss rainforest about 30 miles inland on the foothills of the Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State. Some areas it is likely no one has ever walked on. Bring mosquito repellent. Be aware of kids and dogs near road entrances, as well as near the creek in the winter. It is located near major fun sites, it is a wilderness playground! Ames Creek dries up mid-July and returns in Sept/Oct. There are a lot of little paths crisscrossing the creek, likely raccoon and deer trails. We are happy to have your dogs visit - they will love it! Please remember to bring an extension cord to access power. There are fire pits. When possible firewood is provided gratis in the woodshed. Tenino, the area we are in is where the First Nations People used as the Gathering Grounds. The Europeans when they came with their railroad chose to continue that tradition. We fell in love with our farm with its much untouched acres to create a place where people can gather and reconnect with life's natural beauty. We are certified organic, Salmon Safe certified, and pesticide free. Dragons' Gate Gardens is home to many giant crystals and here their beauty works delightfully with the land. The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore. The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can enjoy a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests. There is a giant crystal housed in a gazebo that overlooks the surrounding fields and woods. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions of which many are edible and healing plants. We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. If you like it wild we are the place for you. This is not a resort or English style garden.
