This listing is located on The Riverbend Preserve, a private nature park, so there is no hunting, fishing, or foraging. Please do not discharge any firearms during your stay.
The forest to the west of the Preserve is Washington State land, and on occasion locals go up into the hills to target shoot. In the unlikely event that this happens during your stay, don't be alarmed; the British are *not* coming.
This land is a nature preserve with lots of wildlife. You're welcome to bring your pet, but keep small animals close to you as there are coyotes and predatory birds in abundance. Black bears and mountain lions also live in the hills, so please always be cautious while hiking and exploring.
If you use AT-T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, or most major carriers you can expect good cell service. Single use or small cellular carriers may have intermittent signal or no signal at all after you leave the City of Chehalis behind.
Most important of all, relax and enjoy your stay in this incredibly peaceful and secluded valley.

Offering a lovely, personal campsite area surrounded by beautiful trees nestled at back of a ranch with horses (and chickens) on the outskirts of the small, charming town of Yelm. (In some of the pictures you will see horses in camp area, but are not turned out when campers are there.) There is 20 amp elec. (which can safely power a 30 amp rv unless you run too many things at once) and water/hose. There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience.
We also offer a small bunk room in the barn. Heated and cooled (fan) with a small "kitchen" area, it has a pull out futon which sleeps 2 and requires you supply your own bedding and towels.
Our Internet connection out here in the country sometimes has outages which we cannot control. IF having reliable internet access is important to you, we may not be your best choice.
1 Hour to Mt. Rainier Nat. Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia Nat. Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing aplenty. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses, a fabulous movie theater and only 15 minutes to Red Wind Casino.
There is a railroad track next to the property, only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but it has never run after dark or early morning.
(We are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads and not highly traveled for the most part.)
**Trigger Warnings: We are near JBLM military base so you may occasionally hear military doings.
Country neighbors occasionally do target practice, so you may hear some shooting.
As a horse property, we require that everyone sign a release of liability waiver and show legal ID.

We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey.
The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups!
Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi.
About the campground:
The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins.
There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊
The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

Weekend Trip to Elevation Hive Forest Retreat
This place is amazing! Pictures don't quite show how close it is the water. It is very relaxing place with a wonderful porch to sit on and take in the view of the water and forest. The bed is really comfortable too! The host is very responsive and helped us locate things in the kitchen we wanted to use. We were only there for a quick one night getaway from the city but hope to be back soon to enjoy the outdoor shower and more!

We were visited by barred owls at night and seals on our paddle. It was perfect. Amanda was quick to answer any questions. We will definitely be back.

This place has been extremely peaceful & relaxing for us. You will feel like you're living in the trees with comfortable accommodations. The host was beyond awesome to work with. She was SO willing to communicate & help us with ALL our questions & needs.

Weekend Trip to HolisticLifeFarm Clatskanie OR
Great yurt on a beautiful farm. The setup has everything you’d need plus a comfy bed. Cardamom the goat was a riot, James the farm dog was friendly. Short, 12 minute jaunt to the (very steep) Beaver Falls trail which leads to the cool waterfall (20 min or so). All in all very quiet and relaxing.

Incredible experience. Marc is an outstanding host. He has created a truly unique and unforgettable experience at the Riverbend Preserve.
I am typically skeptical when a listing claims to provide a private and relaxing experience. Let me tell you, this was the real deal. The property is expansive and the acreage is breathtaking and serene. Our two dogs had the run of the land and had an absolute blast. The campsites are pristine and the amenities are plentiful. A ten minute drive away is a small town grocery store which has lovely owners and everything you need to restock. Marc has bundles of firewood that he will deliver to your site upon request for a very reasonable price.
My only regret is that we didn’t properly explore the preserve. We will DEFINITELY be back as soon as possible. Hands down the best Hipcamp experience I’ve had.

We had such a great time staying at this pirate-themed cabin for two nights! We came to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday, and the host made it extra special by leaving her a birthday shirt. There was also a welcome box with everything we needed for s’mores, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The lake was definitely a highlight. Having our own private pier and access to kayaks, boats, and floaties kept the whole family entertained for hours. Even when it rained, we had plenty to do with all the games and movies inside the cabin.
The only thing I wish had been different was having an indoor bathroom. The portable restroom worked fine, but it’s at the top of the driveway, which could be tricky with kids. It definitely wouldn’t keep us from coming back, though!
Overall, it was an amazing stay, and you can tell the host has put so much thought into making this a fun experience. We made some wonderful family memories and would absolutely stay here again!

1 night at Elevation Hive Forest Retreat
A few sweet, secluded and cozy spot. A barred owl greeted us on arrival. We slept great in the dome and easily utilized the outdoor shower and trailer amenities. This was a pit stop after visiting Olympic National Park so it was a great way to extend the feeling of staying in an enchanted forest.

Our family had an amazing weekend at the Plank and Pillow at Pirate Cove. Before our weekend began Kevin was a gracious host, answering all of our pre-trip questions and giving us all the helpful information to make our trip great!
The location was perfect, felt like we had the cove to ourselves and the views were spectacular. We have a couple of teenagers and a one year old in our family and there was plenty of fun to be had by all! The teenagers were out on the water the whole trip except to eat or sleep. They loved all of the water crafts and really enjoyed learning to kayak and paddle board! We brought some fishing gear and had some luck fishing off the dock and even took the row boat out for some fishing too!
The cabin itself provided everything we needed and it seems Kevin had thought of everything! The sleeping arrangements worked perfect for us, one of the teenagers had the bunk room, one stayed upstairs on the pull out bed and the captain’s quarters had a comfortable bed with enough room to put a pack n play for the baby!
The portapotty may remind you that you are camping, but a nice warm shower after a swim in the lake in a the outdoor shower gives you some relaxing resort vibes!
We had a fantastic stay and hope to that the winds have us sailing back in for another stay in the future!

Had a great weekend with family. Close to the park with water access, the boat launch, and fishing. Incredible views from every spot on the property. Absolutely loved the Dome, and again the view from the Dome was beautiful. Used the fire pit, BBQ, and outdoor shower. Definitely on our return visit list.

Our Hidden Pillar campout was such a magical time. The beach access point is a stunning place to hang out and take dips in the surprisingly warm water. The cabin was cozy and we greatly enjoyed hanging out between the cabin and the clearing just below. The riverside camp was the perfect place to store all our paddleboards/kayaks, etc. for use throughout our stay. Creekside camp is best accessed from the roadway on the way up, or if you're looking for a trailhike, the trail from cabin to creekside is fun and totally doable, but I wouldn't call it simple. Overall, we couldn't have had a better time and hope to book again next year!

We had a fantastic stay at this farm ranch in Centralia! The cabin was small but incredibly cozy and had absolutely everything we needed for a quick stay, including a fridge, stove, and running water. The staff was incredibly helpful and made communication super easy via text. One of our highlights was the outdoor hot tub, which was so relaxing and fun to enjoy in the evening. We also loved the farm tour. It was so interesting to see all the different animals like the sheep, chickens, turkeys, and goats! There was a separate, large kitchen built into an old school bus; while we didn't use it, it looked very well-stocked and unique. Lastly, we really appreciated the welcoming and LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at Jake and Molly’s place. Such a beautiful space all around. Very clean and spacious. Bed was comfy and there was an enough room for our 3 kids to sleep on their own mattresses. Everything was really well labeled. Loved the shower option. And the little walking paths were beautiful - felt like Fern Gully or a little world of its own. Took a quick 10 minute drive to another beach for some fishing. Just wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area, but I think we’ll come back. Thank you for sharing your space with our family.
