Weekend Trip to The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

Absolutely loved our stay here! We took a family camping trip and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The property was stunning, hospitality was fantastic and overall such an easy experience. We explored the property with our 2 kids and dogs and took the river trail down to the water. Everything about our stay was breath taking. Wide open space for our kiddos to be crazy and not feel like you're camping on top of the site next you. The property was extremely well maintained and felt like we were on a retreat.

Professional grade fire rings with cooking grates, water at each site, and some with electric. A true gem. Almost don't want to leave a good review as I want to make sure there's spaces to rent!

We had the best time at this beautiful place. Jim the host is Great. And the Oyster’s are world class. Unfortunately are inflatable car mattress had a blow out so we had to leave early 😳. I recommend this place and hopefully be back soon.

1 night at Hidden Meadow Retreat

We enjoyed our time on Jake and Molly's property. We were even one of the first to use their brand new yurt. Bring your own bedding. The shower is handy and the outdoor sink basin is so darn cute! Great firewood available on site. Jake and Molly and their kids greeted us. Of course their pets came a calling too. Friendly and sweet, Jake and Molly were responsive to our needs. Directions were very clear for our arrival Have fun when you visit.

Nick was very nice and provided us with toilet paper, water, and firewood. The land was very pretty and peaceful. It is next to the highway so sometimes cars can be heard. And it is a small walk from the car to the site but Nick let us borrow a wagon.

While I do recommend this site I have some mixed feelings. First, the sites are very very nice! They're spaced out, private, flat and the property is gorgeous. The small ponds and grassy area is fun to walk around, especially with our pup. Nick, the caretaker of the land is super friendly and helpful. He answered all of my questions and offered to bring firewood and water. We really enjoyed listening to the frogs as we fell asleep. The bathroom was relatively close by, very simple but clean. The site itself was super pretty and super nice and I had no complaints about it but I had other issues with the hipcamp. Firstly, we did have to walk all our stuff along a trail for a few minutes, which we did expect but the mud made it a little bit difficult. Additionally and importantly, the cars are parked overnight along the road right outside of the gate and the property. This was a big stresser to me as I did not feel comfortable leaving much in the car. This meant I had to take far more stuff with me to the campsite which was tedious. Additionally, the sites were right below the road which meant we heard some cars pretty close by at night. Ultimately, if these complaints seem manageable to you I would guaranteed recommend this site because the land itself is amazing.

3 nights at The Hideout

We had a great time in our RV at “ The Moose”. The neighborhood around this site is so interesting- little vacation homes, rental cabins, and RV lots are all mixed together. We felt very safe and the neighbors on one side were not there, while those on the other side were fine. We felt like we had the whole area around us to ourselves. The site was clean, the portable toilet was clean too, though we really didn’t use it. It was great to have a sewer hook up where we could dump right next to the trailer. Location is great for proximity to Mt. Rainier. We were early in the season and never had a wait getting into the park. If you eat out, try Wildberry Restaurant on your way out of the park - good food, exceptional service and a great backstory. We felt fortunate to find The Moose and to stay here while visiting Mt. Rainier National Park.

2 nights at Riverside Camping Near Mt Rainier

We had a great stay at this spot! We caught the tail end of a Memorial Day weekend and although the camp was pretty full it still gave plenty of privacy and space. All the other campers were friendly and respectful. The access to bathrooms and showers were nice. A great view from spot 3 of the rail trestle. Close to Mt. Rainier and plenty of hiking trails. Would certainly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Camping Near Mt Rainier

This hip camp is more like a little park. It has flushing toilets and showers and around 10 sites many with hook ups for RVs. It’s very close to the antique train in Elba and you can see it going by a couple times a day right from the campsite. Everything is very clean and neat and well organized.

Amazing! Was a nice opportunity for my almost 4 year old sons first time out of the backyard camping. Being able to feed the horses and goats just added to the fun. Communication from the host was amazing and the price was just right.

Weekend Trip to Summertide Resort

What an excellent weekend at the Summertide Resort. The 5 campsites are quaint and clean along a babbling brook for excellent sleeping. We were also pleasantly surprised to have convenient sinks for washing dishes, a propane grill for easy camp cooking and communal campfire so we didn't have camp smoke blowing into our campsites. But the real treat was the inclusive kayaking and paddleboarding and fresh coffee & oyster buckets for our morning clam & oyster collecting. We will be back soon! Thank you Morgan & Krista!

Weekend Trip to Malaney Creek Farm

This site has become our favorite! The host are amazing, attentive and respectful. Thank Tracy and Dan. It was spacious, quiet, and beautiful! We took our RV and a tent and we still had plenty space for activities plus it is super close to the lake so we were able to do some kayaking! We are coming back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Summertide Resort

Perfect last minute get away! The camping spots are just a little up hill and across the street from the waterfront, close enough for easy access but also tucked away in nature. A fawn and doe walked right through the camping area one day and another deer the next. The water and views were beautiful and it was great that they allow campers to borrow the kayaks and paddle boards. Hosts/owners were super nice and friendly in a laid back way. Really nice bathrooms with showers included. The camp store has all the essentials and we joined other visitors around the campfire and shared freshly harvested oysters. Perfect balance of not too fancy but not too rustic. We will for sure be back and maybe will rent one of their vacation rentals with family.

The river walk was awesome! Such a beautiful river and the walk back is a great way to get some exercise in while camping. Would love to stay again!

We love camping, hiking and any opportunity to be outside with our two children! In 2020 (one week before the whole world shut down from Covid) we found the hidden gem we had been searching for! A perfect place to raise our family, space to play and explore nature, super private and close to town! It seemed too good to be true and still does! After settling in and realizing what amazing natural beauty we had, we got to work developing our garden, orchards, trails, fire pits and….Campsites! After building a camp site for our family, we decided that we wanted to share this amazing space with other families to enjoy! We built Hidden Meadow to be the campsite that we have always searched for on our family adventures, surrounded by nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, with trails for hiking and a HOT TUB to relax in, in the evening! We hope that you enjoy it! About the property: We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the bathroom which has a shower and a toilet. The toilet is a porta-potty and the shower is propane headed. There is also a supply closet at the bathroom that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hottub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins as well as a sink for washing hands (please water only down the sink). We have provided soap that is biodegradable for the sink and shower to help reduce our impact on this beautiful environment. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There is also several fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offers great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails! Dogs: We do have two dogs on the property (Wilma and Bean) who are very friendly and we will keep them out of camp during your stay. Although they typically follow us when we walk down there. We allow dogs to be off leash at owner’s risk. There may be other dogs in camp so please use discretion when letting your dogs off leash and be mindful of other campers. You must be responsible for your own dogs, we are not responsible for any dog related or dog inflicted injuries. Getting here: We are off of Sleater Kinney Rd in Olympia. We have a long, steep, curvy driveway. At the bottom of the driveway, you will find signs directing you to the camp site. If you have extra vehicles, we have extra parking spaces adjacent to the campsite. The road out to camp may be bumpy (we do our best to keep it smooth) so go slow and beware of natural obstacles. Rules: 1. Check in time is 2:00pm or later. For afterhours arrivals, please let us know. 2. Check out time is 12:00pm or earlier 3. Quiet hours from 9pm to 8am. You are far from our house, so we can’t hear you but sound travels well over the water to our neighbors. Nobody wants grumpy neighbors, please be respectful. 4. Remain within the campground boundary during all times. If you need us, please feel free to text or call. 5. Please put all trash in the trash cans or take it with you. 6. Remove all dog doo and dispose of in the trash. 7. Leave what you find (except ripe blackberries). Please leave any forest treasures where you found them. 8. Cleanup any debris left from firewood/camp activities before departing. 9. Enjoy nature and respect it. Please stay on trails and respect the plants and the natural habitats. 10. Stay off the dock. It is closed for repair. 11. Do not use the trailside fireplace (if you find it) or our personal canoe or kayaks. However, feel free to enjoy the view from the seats by the fireplace. 12. Be cautious when walking around, the ground is bumpy and there are exposed tree roots that can be tripping hazards. We are not responsible from injuries. 13. Help us keep it clean- if you find any garbage around, please pick it up or let us know. 14. Keep fires small and when you are finished PUT YOUR FIRES DEAD OUT! There are 5 gallon buckets by each fire put to fill before you start your fire for putting them out. 15. Please do not burn trash or food. It can create issues with the wildlife. Put all waste in garbage cans.

Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

This is a camping location with ACCESS to the river, access to OUR farm land, ponds and DNR land. Our camp spots are private and not stacked on top of each other. Right now we have dry camping with outdoor honey buckets. We are wanting something that you can clear your mind, camp In peace. We also offer wood for SALE and all of our sites have wood burning areas. We also have ice and delivery services. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access. There is talk about sites at the river, we have some in their premature stage. This is NOT offered through our Hip Camp site!!!!! However, we do upon arrival let people stay right on the water on a case-by-case deal and NOT on busy holiday weekends. There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers, than they would cry because the bathroom was too far. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. So now I do it judging by the vibe the camper gives me when they arrive and how full we our. Next year I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! We appreciate the wonderful feedback everyone gives it helps us grow with you!!

The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Khohay Farm

Our 2 French Bulldogs also stay in this building but they love humans and all the attention you can give them! -We have a wellness yurt with well equipped gym that is available to use as an add-on. -There is an infrared sauna that can sit up to 3 people located next to the yurt accompanied by a cold plunge as an add-on. -You are welcome to wander around the entire property and grab fruit daily from the trees when in season or have us get you farm fresh eggs from the coop to eat for breakfast. -Say hello to the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, cats and dogs) or go for a walk/run around the countryside roads with walking/running/biking adventures available to you along the beautiful and paved Foothills Trail extending 21 miles from Buckley to Puyallup. -Communal fire pit areas with picnic table and chairs available when fire ban is not in effect. There is one close to the communal kitchen area, one closer to the field by the barn, and we have a moveable metal one which we can transport to your camp spot if preferred. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed. -WIFI is available closer to the communal area. LOCATION: 2 miles from downtown Buckley with Blue Max Meats and the Rainier Fresh Country Store for a quick trip down the road for groceries and less than 15 minute drive to Enumclaw with more restaurant options available and Bonney Lake also 15 minutes away with Target, Costco, Fred Meyers etc.

I recently bought this place from a friend's family. The name is in honor of him, "Bruzas in Bumps & Bruzas." He loved having people out all the time for fires and BBQs and just random fun. This place was went meant to be shared in his vision, so thats what I'm doing with it. We no longer allow dogs due to my dogs no longer being friendly to visiting dogs after being attacked. Sorry for the inconvenience. The setup is simple, we are a property on the Carbon River with nearly 800ft of river front access. The levee runs along the length of the property creating continuous camping availability. Please honor the property and adopt the LEAVE NO TRACE habits~ if possible please leave it better than you found it. We're a casual family friendly environment.
