This small 25-acre ranch is just in the early stages of development. We are repairing fences and watering. I just added solar power and several electrical upgrades for RV's. The property has a 2000 feet of grass runway with an airplane hangar, so you could fly it if you have a STOHL airplane. The irrigation pond/pond yard area is currently available for camping. Many wineries, brewies and outdoor activities available in the area. Children can help feed or water the pigs and perhaps the chickens. Be aware though when piglets are around at times they are very small and are amazing escaped artists so do not keep food out unless you want to try and pet one they are friendly. Over 100 years ago this historic location was once a “Siding” (loading zone) along the railroad where hundreds of sheep would board from the nearby ranches. Today, it’s a desolate, 160 acres of high desert sage where the only noise you hear at night are the coyotes. Just five miles off of I-84, ten minutes from Arlington, and 25 from Boardman. Great experience we came in the last minute in the evening. It was starting to rain and the owners moved the porta-potty, which comes with a wash station closer to our site. In the evening and overnight, the train came through a few times that it was more nostalgic, then disruptive. We definitely stay here again!

Taylor’s place was the perfect location to camp while visiting McNary National Wildlife Refuge. It was impeccably clean, had easy access to the refuge and to Richland, and was very quiet. The host greeted me and made sure I had everything I needed. I was glad for the availability of power as the evenings were chilly. I would camp there again when visiting the area.

Nice spot. Super helpful camp host provided firewood, which we were too tired to use. Spot was quiet. Restrooms were very clean. We were there on a Monday, so most of town was closed. But very short walk to what looked like some nice restaurants.

We loved camping on their land. It was very peaceful and cozy. No other campers, just us. We appreciated how most of the yard was fenced. Having well behaved dogs, we didnt have to tether them. The owners were very kind and easy to work with. Even left us some fresh corn from their garden. We stayed here for the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival in Prosser. Location was perfect. Lots to do in the area too. We will be back! Thank you!!

Weekend Trip to Cowiche Canyon Orchard Cabin-Heated

I really enjoyed the space. This was a halfway point to get to Great Prosser Balloon Festival by 6a Saturday morning. I picked up a Walmart order then straight to the Cathaus. (We didn’t see the cat). I pulled together a little dinner. Maria had some dishes and utensils but I’d brought my own. I went and sat on the covered area overlooking the apple orchard with my dog. The local winery next door had an evening concert going, so even had a little entertainment. The workers cabin was cute. Nothing too fancy or too shabby. The full size bed was cozy. I’m not a huge fan of foam form pillows but at 4a I discovered one of the bunk beds had a fluffy pillow. Too bad I didn’t check around 9p when I turned in. 🙂 My border collie did well. There was ample lighting once dark to see the path to the outhouse. Plenty of books to browse or read if any guest wants to fill downtime. I enjoyed the location and the basket of homemade goodies to purchase. I guess if I had to provide any feedback, it might be to add some fairy lights maybe around the “kitchen” area. Everyone’s opinion will be different. I tend to like just a little light at night, typically in another room. The cabin was pitch dark when lights were out. I had brought some usb fairy lights with me and honestly I should have left them behind as a gift. Maybe I’ll throw my extra string in the mail to Maria. Thanks for the hospitality! Hope I have the opportunity to visit again.

We loved this location. It was beautiful and peaceful and private. The sound of the running creek at night was so relaxing!
