Tenino, the area we are in is where the First Nations People used as the Gathering Grounds. The Europeans when they came with their railroad chose to continue that tradition. Tenino is ground zero for the measurement of where one is on the railroad. We fell in love with our farm with its much untouched acres to create a place where people can gather and reconnect with life's natural beauty.
We are certified organic, Salmon Safe certified, and pesticide free. Dragons' Gate Gardens is home to many giant crystals and here their beauty works delightfully with the land.

There is a giant crystal housed in a gazebo that overlooks the surrounding fields and woods. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55.
We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics.
Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions of which many are edible and healing plants.

Welcome, to the Meadery, we are a working winery with several other interests to investigate as well. Come learn about making Mead. We have an annual cider press in late September or early October as well.
Want to learn how to Roast your own coffee bean? Or maybe you are competitive and want to race 132 or 124 slot cars on a Carrera 124 Digital Track. There is also a nice walk in the woods, and if it is hot you can float down the Deschutes River that is very close by.
Pitch your tent in a few areas you pick, there are Mountain Bike and Little kid ATV trails around the property as well. For more extensive ATV trails Capital Forest is about 30 minutes away. If you have a Weyerhaeuser permit for the area near me the gate is 2.5 miles away. There is a winery on site and an outside tasting area with a fire pit. Each camp site also has their own fire pits. Two bathrooms with showers. There are powered and non-powered RV sites. Water is available at the water station but not directly at the camp sites.
We are pet friendly. We offer firewood for sale on site, camp fires permitted outside of a burn ban.
We do not provide garbage service, we expect everyone to carry out what they bring in.
Guests love staying here: "Dean's acreage is a dream! We stayed there in our motorhome and absolutely loved it. We have two dogs and they are picky about making friends but adored Deans dogs. They are the sweetest and make the camping even more enjoyable.
Dean was kind enough to show us his Meadery and the property so we felt comfortable exploring and walking around. We would definitely recommend it for other campers whether you have an RV, tent, van, etc. For reference we comfortably parked our 31 ft motorhome and we were able to hookup to electricity (only available in one spot so inquire with dean!). There is a shower and toilet available for use in a separate building from his home in the backyard."

Guests love it here: "What a nice surprise! I was not sure what to expect staying on a horse ranch, but it was everything I could have hoped for and more. Kristy was an awesome host and there was one other group up by the rv pad, but we hardly saw them. Dogs were very friendly and Kristy let us use a propane fire-pit to provide warmth and a fire for our tent site. The bathrooms were clean and there was some water by our site, but we did not use it.
The camp, for the tent site… we arrived and she drove us all over her property and told us to just choose where we wanted to camp. We chose to stay in back of the horse area. While we could see the house from there, we didn’t care and if you want to move back in the woods further, there are spots back there too that would provide more privacy if you need that. This is a great site and a one of a kind experience being that close to the horses."

Once a working farm, Grey Owl Hollow sat fallow for over 20 years.
In 2017, Seth left the corporate world and he and Yvonne dedicated themselves to the stewardship of this charming locale.
The densely planted lumber forest was trimmed and thinned, allowing deer and other wildlife migration while providing shady campsites for nature lovers.
Seth has begun planting a redwood grove in the high meadow and Yvonne is adding hazelnut and walnut trees to the 80-year-old apple orchard.

We worked for several years to improve the land, pulling acres and acres of Scotch Broom. We now are home to La Vida Alpaca, a herd of about 40 alpacas, and Tahoma Vista Fiber Mill, a custom artisan mill. Meet the alpacas, tour the mill and shop in our farm boutique during your stay. You can also take a fiber arts class while you're here. We can customize one for you.
We have great views of Mt. Rainier from many sites on our property. We have a mix of wooded and prairie areas, and cute and friendly alpacas grazing nearby. Note: Site #4 is only available for tent camping. Please book Sites 1-3 if you are have a trailer or RV.

Offering a lovely, personal campsite area surrounded by beautiful trees nestled at back of a ranch with horses (and chickens) on the outskirts of the small, charming town of Yelm. (In some of the pictures you will see horses in camp area, but are not turned out when campers are there.) There is 20 amp elec. (which can safely power a 30 amp rv unless you run too many things at once) and water/hose. There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience.
We also offer a small bunk room in the barn. Heated and cooled (fan) with a small "kitchen" area, it has a pull out futon which sleeps 2 and requires you supply your own bedding and towels.
1 Hour to Mt. Rainier Nat. Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia Nat. Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing aplenty. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses, a fabulous movie theater and only 15 minutes to Red Wind Casino.
There is a railroad track next to the property, only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but it has never run after dark or early morning.
(We are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads and not highly traveled for the most part.)
**Trigger Warnings: We are near JBLM military base so you may occasionally hear military doings.
Country neighbors occasionally do target practice, so you may hear some shooting.
As a horse property, we require that everyone sign a release of liability waiver and show legal ID.

Very clean and well kept property hosted by David and Jean. Lots of friendly animals and the alpaca farm tour was definitely the highlight of the trip! We got to pet and feed the alpacas and learn about the entire process start to finish in seeing how wearables and household goods are made from the alpaca fibers. The two guardian dogs Snowflake and Dora were fun to hang out with and it was a treat to give them lots of pets and back scratches every time they came by on their rounds. The alpaca mill here has won so many awards for their work and it was a wonderful experience getting to learn about so much from passionate industry experts. The stars were bright and it was fairly quiet at night. The roosters start crowing at about 4am so just keep that in mind :)

We had such a wonderful time at Grey Owl Hollow! There was so much space for the kids to run around and behave like feral little creatures. There was plenty of space for all the tents in our party. It was a bit rainy but it was hardly noticeable in the campsite area under the trees. There is also a large covered area for doing outdoor activities regardless of the weather. The host, Seth, chatted for a bit and was very welcoming. There are so many special little touches they have included in the property, you can tell they have put a lot of thought and intention in creating this space. Our group saw garter snakes, an owl and baby deer during our visit. I definitely want to go back!

My daughter and I had a great time camping at Matthew’s land. I definitely recommend. I will be telling friends and family and definitely we will be back! Camp was clean, and kept and close enough to stores if you forget or need something- which we did :)! Fire wood was provided which was so awesome and they have a cart to help load stuff to your spot! There was someone there to greet us and he was super friendly and helpful!

We loved camping on Matthew's land: the property is beautiful with hiking trails, grassy clearings, a pond, a creek and a few darling bridges (perfect for cute pictures). My pup and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Mathew kept fantastic contact, and directions were perfectly clear: I loved that nothing was a "surprise".
My only regret was not booking the site for longer, as it was a wonderful weekend. Already planning on our next trip to Green Acres later this summer!

I would recommend this as a quick stop that feels like staying in someone's front yard instead of a traditional camping experience. It was a bit difficult to find without any signage at the entrance. I was surprised to be so close to a well traveled road. It was kind of a blah experience, but I was the only one there. The composting toilet was impressive and the showers looked good but it was too chilly to shower outside when I was there. Possibly it was just too early in the season for a camping vibe, but it could be the excessive collection of junk around the property. The camping area was well mowed as was the one path we walked. We saw several cows through the tree line.

This spot truly is a treasure. Warm lake, private little inlet with lots of options no matter the age. My kids loved the pirate theme and had a few treasure hunts; my teenage daughter stayed on the paddleboard. The kids were up early to fish and went to bed wiped out every night. It is hard to entertain the entire family, but this place has pretty much taken the pressure off and provided a special experience for everyone to enjoy the time spent here!

We LOVE Dean! This was our second time there, and this time my friend and I brought our husbands too. Dean’s Honeysuckle Meadery Campsite makes camping comfortable even for people who don’t usually enjoy camping. The real game changer? He built two 3/4 bathrooms for guests to use!
Dean also makes AMAZING mead — absolutely worth trying while you’re there. If you go, make sure to ask him about his other hobbies and his beautiful Norwegian Elkhound. ❤️
