We loved camping at Jean’s property she was very nice host and very responsive to all the questions. It’s was very private and peaceful camp site. Our kids loved playing with their dogs.

We had such an amazing time! Our toddler loved spending time with the dogs, chickens, and alpacas. The hosts were lovely and gave us a great tour of their farm and mill. I would definitely recommend!

We had a great time staying here! The hosts were friendly and kinda. We bought eggs for our stay, a farm tour, and a felt sheet class. I would recommend these if you love to learn new things. We had fun and the dogs would come around and patrol stopping by for some pets. We would definitely come back!

Stayed here with my son to camp for the weekend while we explored a bit of Washington and had a great time! My son loved running around the farm meeting all the animals. Very friendly farm dogs and lots of wandering Alpacas to keep him entertained. Hosts are very kind and set up is easy, if we are ever back in this area, this is where ill be staying.

Site 2 - Camp with Alpacas
We had a great time camping at the Alpaca Farm. We were at the back and had a really private site with tons of room. We also did the mill tour and got to meet the alpacas up close which was so fun! Our toddler loved staying at the farm, especially getting visits from their dog Snowflake! It was also a convenient drive to Mt Rainier. Would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area. Jean and David were so welcoming.

We spent two nights tent camping at this charming, quiet Alpaca farm owned by Jean and David.
The farm had about 35 very adorable alpacas, roosters which provided endless entertainment. We loved walking in loops through the property.
We also loved Snowflake, the friendly guard dog, who made sure we were safe during our entire stay!
Don't miss to take the farm tour. The hosts were generous with their time, and shared a lot of knowledge with us. Very wholesome!
The toilet facilities/maintenance could use some improvement. But the hosts tried to make sure we felt comfortable.
Despite this, our stay was memorable and enjoyable, and we appreciate the warm and welcoming environment Jean and David have created. We'll go back again.

Wonderful stay and visit with the Alpacas. Take the tour, very informative and if you have kids, being able to hug and feed them is priceless. We were the only campers and our first tent camping experience. Went great. My granddaughter loved being with all the animals and her new friend snowflake, the guard dog. Due to another herd we were more towards the front which was a walk to the portapotty but doable.

We Trailer dry-camped with our 3 grandsons (6, 4, and 2) this past weekend, and what a delightful experience! The staff are all so accommodating and informative. The alpaca are sweet, curious, gentle creatures and their guardians Snowflake and Sumi accepted the boys into the herd and we were delighted to hear them alert the couple of times during the night even for all our protection. We felt completely safe and looked after! Our 3 are rambunctious, loud, busy boys yet the weekend felt relaxed and serene in the lovely setting. Thank you to the owners Jean and David for sharing their world with us, and the staff Chayney, James, B, and Linda (and all) for their attentiveness and going above and beyond to help make this weekend special! The boys got to experience supervised petting and feeding of the alpacas, a tour of the working mill, and to visit the shop! We highly recommend doing it all! We will definitely camp with the alpacas again! On a logistical note, we were in campsite Number two, and from what we could see the sites were all nice and flat, amongst some sparse trees, with picnic tables and fire rings… Plenty of space! It was perfect for us! I wish I could attach a picture to this review!

This was such an awesome experience! Jean and David were a wealth of knowledge and really took the time to answer all of our questions, and there were a lot! We enjoyed the atmosphere being surrounded by alpacas and two of the sweetest dogs! We camped at site 2 which was private enough but still near the alpacas. Highly recommend!

My family had a wonderful time staying at Jean’s alpaca farm! We stayed in the first 3 sites with our group, 2 RVs and the rest in tents. They were extremely accommodating with any questions I had prior to the trip. It was so fun having the alpacas wondering around our camp and grazing the grass nearby. Snowflake, the farm dog, was the sweetest girl and loved any cuddles you’re willing to give. The farm tour was very informative. The one difficulty for our group was the bathroom situation and location. It was a little bit of a walk and there was just one porta potty.

Camp with Alpacas
We tent camped on Jean and David’a property, and it was so lovely! They offer a very unique and pleasant experience by getting to watch the alpacas and hang out with their incredible dog, Snowflake. We had a great time, the location is beautiful, and we will most definitely be recommending this location to friends. Make sure you take the alpaca and fiber mill tour!

Quiet property, relaxing, and free range Alpacas! And, you get to hang out with Snowflake, the guard dog that quickly accepts you into the pack. If you are a really light sleeper, bring some earplugs, as Snowflake is a working dog 24/7, and won't hesitate to scare off potential invaders to protect her herd, even at 3am.
Jean and David are wonderful hosts. Be sure to book the tour so you can hand feed the young Alpacas and see firsthand how they turn Alpaca fiber into beautiful products. We've been using Alpaca dryer balls for years and their prices are the best.
The free range Alpacas are quiet and will get close to you if you keep your hands in your pockets and stay still. They are beautiful animals. Do it!

The campsite was nice and private. It was fun looking at the alpacas. The problems started as soon as we arrived. I asked that in the event we had to interact with the host that they wear a mask which I was assured would be ok. My MIL got there before me only to have to listen to the host mock me for being covid conscious. I'm pregnant and my daughter hasn't been vaccinated yet since she's 3. Apparently it's "God's country". That was the excuse he used with my MIL. He didn't honor my request for no contact and he didn't wear a mask. The firewood we spent $20 for was not logs but scraps of wood from around the farm. Not worth it. We set up camp determined to make the best of it and actually had a pretty great day. That is until nighttime. The dogs were literally up all night barking. Snowflake was right next to our tent. We got no sleep. We actually ended up having to leave at 1 am. When I say constant barking I truly mean constant. We came back the next morning packed up and left. This is a great place for a day trip if you can get past the lack of covid precautions and the mocking hosts. The alpacas are friendly and so is snowflake, but definitely not a campsite. 2/10 do not recommend.

We do a family camping trip every September, but had trouble finding a place to camp this year. We then discovered Hipcamp, and Camping with Alpacas. We had a great times. Jan and Dave were great hosts. And Snowflake was too fun.
We did make felt sheets and wanted to do some experimenting with the techniques. Dave and Jean were more than willing to let us try different things. They were very gracious and generous with their time. It was all great fun.

Really enjoyed camping with the alpacas. Definitely go on the tour. You will meet the alpacas and learn so many interesting things about how they prepare and use the wool. Highly recommend this experience!

What a fun and unique trip for our family! Jean and David are such a hardworking and nice couple. We had a great time learning about alpacas. We did the tour and it was really interesting to learn about how the yarn and felt is made. The little shop is cute too and of course we had to grab some souvenirs :) Their dog Snowflake is such a sweetheart and was so kind to our 4.5 year old and rambunctious 2 year old. So neat to have the alpacas roaming around the property. Lots of open spaces for our children to run around on. Definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic time, and Jean and David were very accommodating, & would definitely do again. A couple of the free roaming chickens were a bit assertive about trying to get into our food. Snowflake the dog came and checked on us and was super friendly.

Such an amazing experience! David and Jean were incredible hosts and would recommend this 10/10 to anyone on Hip Camp. Truly a once in a lifetime experience to stay on the farm and get to know the Alpacas, while camping under the beautiful starry night sky. And, meeting Snowflake and Sumi (Great Pyrenees) - they were so loving and protective. Just a short jaunt from Mount Rainier National Park. Our entire crew had a blast and would definitely come back again!

Not every thing was bad. Seeing the alpacas was nice and they have a wonderful dog. Jean and David are nice host. It was a nice place to see. We have stayed at 3 different Hipcamps and this was our least favorite one. The porta-potty was dirty, we didn’t even want to go in there. It is noisy at night, it’s farm country and the dogs are protecting the alpacas. I really tried to enjoy my 3 nights there 😞.

Amazing, beautiful stay. The alpacas are so fun. This couple of musicians are the kindest, full of stories, couple we have met on the road. You will love the tour and the amazing store. All products have a story and an alpaca connection. Great early Christmas shopping spot.

Wow, I can’t believe this place had availability during 4th of July weekend! What a hidden gem. Definitely one of my favorite camping trips of all time. Some perks:
1. There are a LOT of alpacas; 50+ on ten acres of land. Many of them are free rangers that will be chilling and grazing when you get out of your tent in the morning. Others live in herds, with fencing separating the males from the females for breeding.
2. A baby alpaca was born at 9am of our arrival date. The little thing made me melt. And it was fascinating to see mother/baby reunite with the herd and the “welcoming ceremony” when they all kiss the baby on the lips to transfer healthy bacteria. What a great community! (I’m not crying; you’re crying! 😭) They have a lot of babies there.
3. Incredible campsite. We got to park our 1969 VW bus along the daisies and wildflowers in bloom. Site #4 is where it’s at! The sunsets were spectacular and the stars were out. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
4. Meaningful interaction with the alpacas. Do the tour! I think of it as a donation to the alpacas. Jean and David are such knowledgeable hosts. Do you know the difference between a Suri and a Huacaya? You will after you hang out with them!

Our favorite Hipcamp stay so far! We loved getting visits from snowflake the working farm dog. The alpacas are so fun to see and learn about and the owners are super friendly. All of the daisy's around camp are beautiful:

My daughter and I chose Champing with Alpacas as our first camping trip together and we had the best time ever!!!! David and Jean are awesome hosts. We enjoyed getting to know them and their alpaca family and so enjoyed learning about how they process alpaca fur, the fiber mill was amazing and we loved their shop. Our campsite was the best, it was spacious and secluded at the back of their property. We so loved all our visits from Snowflake their dog who watches over the alpacas, she visited us throughout our stay and was such a loving presence. We plan to go back to camp again soon. Super clean and private and the hosts were helpful and kind and informative. Snowflake was our camp mascot-she kept an eye on the other animals while taking time for snuggles. The alpacas and chickens roamed freely through daisy fields with our grandchildren. A tour of the mill is a must. Everything was enjoyable and perfect.

Jean and the entire farm stay was incredible. They are super organized with easy directions on finding the farm, settling in, and offering free roam of the farm (with a few farm rules to keep you and the animals safe). I camped on the backside of the property, which was very private. I had a fire pit, water hookup, and access to a clean porta-potty with an outdoor handwashing station. I highly recommend signing up for the 1/2 day farmhand and the knitting class, it's a great way to see the full picture of the alpaca life! If farm noises bother you (rooster crowing, guardian dogs barking occasionally to protect the pack) then bring earplugs! This is a great place for a family or a single camper. I highly recommend this stay!
