I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.

The Button Farm Living History Center is a hands-on education facility dedicated to preserving the history of the Underground Railroad. It is operated by the Menare Foundation through a long term lease agreement with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. this site was great for a quick overnight stay! i took my dogs on a walk around the neighborhood, there was a dog at a neighbors house that spooked me and followed us, but nothing happened. just a heads up for dog owners, keep an eye out, there were a couple roaming neighborhood dogs. however, everything else was lovely and i would definitely recommend. the wifi was a little spotty but i think i was a bit too far away. thanks!

This is the perfect combo of spacious camping spots, easy access from the highway, and just enough amenities to make this a truly enjoyable experience. Combo lock access behind a gate means late arrivals can just cruise right in and feel nice and private once you’re set up. The bathroom facilities are a great touch to level up what would otherwise be primitive camping. Jen was responsive and accommodating.

We loved camping at the Harmon Homestead! Extremely quiet and relaxing. Friendly hosts that go the extra mile to make your stay amazing. When you go ask to meet the animals. They have goats, pigs, chickens, emu, and the friendliest pup who may come to say hello. Highly recommended.

Firewood was readily available, the outhouse was a plus and the drive from Montgomery county was a breeze. This is the second time that my family and I have stayed at this site. We liked it so much that we brought friends this time! The location is incredible and Greg is an outstanding Camp host. He’s quickly responsive to all of our questions and needs. He absolutely goes above and beyond to make the stay special and especially to find ways to make it really fun for our kids. May daughter loves seeing the resident cats and Greg’s very chill dogs.I also appreciate how flexible he was when some of our plans changed. I will be back to this site many times.

The Hilltop site was wonderful with beautiful views of the sunrise in the morning and the stars at night. The trees provided privacy from other campers and great birdsong throughout the day. The site itself is pretty bare bones so come prepared -- Greg is super helpful and will bring firewood and other necessities if you ask, though, so it's really not a big deal. Speaking of Greg, he was super kind and offered great recommendations on what to do during the visit. Be sure to ask him about the cave along the C&O Canal path -- we explored it and saw a sleepy little bat that was a highlight for the whole group! :)
