Whisper Creek was founded in 1999. It has been the gathering place for many great friends and camping adventures. WC can hardly be camping, more like Glamping!
This is a very private and quiet location. You can settle in knowing that this listing includes a covered picnic area. Which has counter space for food prep and cooking that includes a small sink.
But remember, it’s camping so you’ll need to come prepared with a camp stove for cooking, although I do have charcoal and propane grill’s at the picnic area.
Fire pit for awesome evening camp fires with free split firewood on hand. All I ask is that you burn it like you split and stacked it.
You can gather and relax under the covered picnic area for dinner preparation and/or lounging. We are located within an hour from Wintergreen, numerous wineries, craft beer locations and numerous hiking destinations.
Harmony Hut has fresh linens but please bring sleeping bags and/or sheets for the screened in bunkhouse.
River access to the James River is a short drive to Howardsville. There you will also find a General Store which offers you the basics, such as Beer, Wine, Ice and a few grocery items. They make the best homemade sandwiches and grilled burgers. Direct river access can be provided via special request. I can also provide shuttling services. But this needs to be mentioned well before your stay as I don't live up there year around.

We are only 30 minutes from Carter’s Mountain, Monticello and Jefferson Winery’s. Thistle Gate Winery is only 5 minutes away and 20 minutes to Scottsville were you can enjoy the James River. UVA sports complex is only 30 minutes away and you’re able to go the back way in to skip the gridlock of the traffic.

About the listing
The tiny house has three twin sized beds; one on the main level and the other two lofted above the main floor on opposite sides and accessed by a ladder. There is also ample space for setting up a tent outside of the tiny house and some campers have even managed to pull a small 8x10 trailer into the campsite.
Take advantage of access to a private fire pit during your stay. There is also a stove in the cabin to keep you warm.
The outhouse features a pit toilet.

Early check-in or late checkout can be managed on a case by case note, depending on whether or not the campsite has other reservations.
Pets are allowed. The property is a working farm, so please respect the animals and those who are working and be sure to close the gate behind you if you opened it.
There is no kitchen in the tiny home, but some minimal and random cookware is provided, along with a small camping stove, if you would like to bring your own camping stoves.
Running water is not available in the cabin. The Host will provide five gallons of water for you and can always refill up at the farm, but feel free to bring additional water with you as well.

Camp Cove Creek is located in rural Faber, Virginia which is 20 minutes from Charlottesville in beautiful Nelson County. Camp Cove Creek was part of my grandparent's Waveland Farm. Originally situated on over 600 acres, the brick antebellum house across the hill was used as a hospital in the Civil War. The camp used to be a horse and cattle farm as well as a flea market and airport with grass airstrip when my mom owned the land. Our vegetable garden was by the swimming hole. The airstrip still maintained as such in order to offer aviation-accessible camping. It is s the future home of Faber Christmas tree farm and features several notable antique vehicles rusting in peace. Some models are of the same make and model featured on TV and film.
Camp Cove Creek is easily accessible via Rt 29 and Rt 6 east (Irish Road). Our property sits at the confluence of Bear and Cove Creeks where wading/hiking/tubing is permitted and encouraged (with water shoes). We are continually trying to improve the site by removing old barbed wire, poison ivy, roadside trash, and invasive plant species in addition to planting Christmas Trees, raising 3 kids, and working 2 full time jobs so please forgive our works in progress!
This is your 30-acre camping playground! Licensed off-road vehicles, ADV and Dual-sport motorcycles, horses, personal electric vehicles and EVEN PRIVATE PLANES are welcomed! Camp anywhere along it or the creeks bordering it. We encourage walking the route first as it has intentionally been left primitive to provide more of an authentic and fun getaway adventure. Overlanding does tend to scratch paint so enter at your own risk! There is a Volleyball Net and Horseshoe set for use as well.
Nearby in the soapstone mining town of Schuyler you can visit the home place of Earl Hamner, best known for his creation of The Waltons TV show. While you're there check out the Waltons Mountain Museum, which happens to be my old elementary school and my parent's former high school. The Rockfish River dam and quarry gardens are really cool too!

This is a working farm, home to both Livestock Guardian Dogs as well as resident dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses, goats and other various livestock. If you choose to bring your dog/s, please let us know when booking. You should NOT bring your dog/s if they are high-strung, overly sensitive, aggressive, or not trained. Our livestock guardian dogs are hard-wired to protect so if they sense an uncomfortable vibe from another dog, it will make them uncomfortable and they need to be focused on doing their jobs.
Safety, privacy and environmental impact is very important to us. We require a minimum of 50 feet between each campsite. Please contain all trash, human waste and canine waste and pack it out with you when you leave. Be kind to the areas in which you camp, as they are home to many wildlife, native trees/shrubs/plants and in some cases, food for horses and cows (hay fields).
Each site is provided a fire pit (upon request) and we sell firewood.

The cabin is located on an old apple orchard and budding homestead. It is off-grid and powered by solar. It is a short walk from the parking area (75 steps uphill). The cabin is one room with a kitchenette, hot outdoor shower, and outdoor compost toilet. The cabin can sleep up to three people with a queen bed, futon, and pullout couch. The kitchen includes a gas range, mini fridge, a sink with running water, and basic kitchen cook wear. A propane heater is available for extra warmth on a chilly night. A shelf equipped with books and board games. A propane grill sits on the front porch, and a fire pit out front. The hot outdoor shower and compost toilet are 25 steps from the front door tucked into the tree line. The pond sits in front of the cabin, a picnic table sets by the edge.
We love living simply, and immersed in nature, and have designed the space for others who also share this passion. We often see deer, turkey, bear, fox, and coyote. Maybe you will too! You will love reading your book by the pond while listening to the frog chorus, and taking your evening shower while gazing upon the ancient oaks.
Our location is 15 minutes from the Appalachian Trail and James River access. The Jefferson Washington National Forest is nearby and offers opportunities for visiting waterfalls, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, and paddling. Downtown Lynchburg is 20 minutes away with great restaurants, farmers markets and shopping.

You will be able to enjoy privacy and all the serenity that the outdoors has to offer! There is cooking grate on the fire pit so you can cook up some delicious meals. We’d suggest bringing some camping chairs if you’re tent camping to enjoy your meals or your morning coffee, as we do not have a picnic table on site. You can also enjoy cozying up by the private campfire and toasting some marshmallows at sunset. We have potable well water for our campers as well as a shared double stall composting toilet for your comfort. The toilets are set up near the campsites for added convenience. Additional Details to Note:- Check-in is after 1pm and check-out is before 12pm- Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Whisper Creek was founded in 1999. It has been the gathering place for many great friends and camping adventures. WC can hardly be camping, more like Glamping!
This is a very private and quiet location. You can settle in knowing that this listing includes a covered picnic area. Which has counter space for food prep and cooking that includes a small sink.
But remember, it’s camping so you’ll need to come prepared with a camp stove for cooking, although I do have charcoal and propane grill’s at the picnic area.
Fire pit for awesome evening camp fires with free split firewood on hand. All I ask is that you burn it like you split and stacked it.
You can gather and relax under the covered picnic area for dinner preparation and/or lounging. We are located within an hour from Wintergreen, numerous wineries, craft beer locations and numerous hiking destinations.
Harmony Hut has fresh linens but please bring sleeping bags and/or sheets for the screened in bunkhouse.
River access to the James River is a short drive to Howardsville. There you will also find a General Store which offers you the basics, such as Beer, Wine, Ice and a few grocery items. They make the best homemade sandwiches and grilled burgers. Direct river access can be provided via special request. I can also provide shuttling services. But this needs to be mentioned well before your stay as I don't live up there year around.

About the listing
The tiny house has three twin sized beds; one on the main level and the other two lofted above the main floor on opposite sides and accessed by a ladder. There is also ample space for setting up a tent outside of the tiny house and some campers have even managed to pull a small 8x10 trailer into the campsite.
Take advantage of access to a private fire pit during your stay. There is also a stove in the cabin to keep you warm.
The outhouse features a pit toilet.

Early check-in or late checkout can be managed on a case by case note, depending on whether or not the campsite has other reservations.
Pets are allowed. The property is a working farm, so please respect the animals and those who are working and be sure to close the gate behind you if you opened it.

Running water is not available in the cabin. The Host will provide five gallons of water for you and can always refill up at the farm, but feel free to bring additional water with you as well.

Camp Cove Creek is located in rural Faber, Virginia which is 20 minutes from Charlottesville in beautiful Nelson County. Camp Cove Creek was part of my grandparent's Waveland Farm. Originally situated on over 600 acres, the brick antebellum house across the hill was used as a hospital in the Civil War. The camp used to be a horse and cattle farm as well as a flea market and airport with grass airstrip when my mom owned the land. Our vegetable garden was by the swimming hole. The airstrip still maintained as such in order to offer aviation-accessible camping. It is s the future home of Faber Christmas tree farm and features several notable antique vehicles rusting in peace. Some models are of the same make and model featured on TV and film.
Camp Cove Creek is easily accessible via Rt 29 and Rt 6 east (Irish Road). Our property sits at the confluence of Bear and Cove Creeks where wading/hiking/tubing is permitted and encouraged (with water shoes). We are continually trying to improve the site by removing old barbed wire, poison ivy, roadside trash, and invasive plant species in addition to planting Christmas Trees, raising 3 kids, and working 2 full time jobs so please forgive our works in progress!
This is your 30-acre camping playground! Licensed off-road vehicles, ADV and Dual-sport motorcycles, horses, personal electric vehicles and EVEN PRIVATE PLANES are welcomed! Camp anywhere along it or the creeks bordering it. We encourage walking the route first as it has intentionally been left primitive to provide more of an authentic and fun getaway adventure. Overlanding does tend to scratch paint so enter at your own risk! There is a Volleyball Net and Horseshoe set for use as well.
Nearby in the soapstone mining town of Schuyler you can visit the home place of Earl Hamner, best known for his creation of The Waltons TV show. While you're there check out the Waltons Mountain Museum, which happens to be my old elementary school and my parent's former high school. The Rockfish River dam and quarry gardens are really cool too!

This is a working farm, home to both Livestock Guardian Dogs as well as resident dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses, goats and other various livestock. If you choose to bring your dog/s, please let us know when booking. You should NOT bring your dog/s if they are high-strung, overly sensitive, aggressive, or not trained. Our livestock guardian dogs are hard-wired to protect so if they sense an uncomfortable vibe from another dog, it will make them uncomfortable and they need to be focused on doing their jobs.
Safety, privacy and environmental impact is very important to us. We require a minimum of 50 feet between each campsite. Please contain all trash, human waste and canine waste and pack it out with you when you leave. Be kind to the areas in which you camp, as they are home to many wildlife, native trees/shrubs/plants and in some cases, food for horses and cows (hay fields).
Each site is provided a fire pit (upon request) and we sell firewood.

The cabin is located on an old apple orchard and budding homestead. It is off-grid and powered by solar. It is a short walk from the parking area (75 steps uphill). The cabin is one room with a kitchenette, hot outdoor shower, and outdoor compost toilet. The cabin can sleep up to three people with a queen bed, futon, and pullout couch. The kitchen includes a gas range, mini fridge, a sink with running water, and basic kitchen cook wear. A propane heater is available for extra warmth on a chilly night. A shelf equipped with books and board games. A propane grill sits on the front porch, and a fire pit out front. The hot outdoor shower and compost toilet are 25 steps from the front door tucked into the tree line. The pond sits in front of the cabin, a picnic table sets by the edge.
We love living simply, and immersed in nature, and have designed the space for others who also share this passion. We often see deer, turkey, bear, fox, and coyote. Maybe you will too! You will love reading your book by the pond while listening to the frog chorus, and taking your evening shower while gazing upon the ancient oaks.
Our location is 15 minutes from the Appalachian Trail and James River access. The Jefferson Washington National Forest is nearby and offers opportunities for visiting waterfalls, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, and paddling. Downtown Lynchburg is 20 minutes away with great restaurants, farmers markets and shopping.
We are a growing homestead. We are planting fruits trees, cultivating shiitake mushrooms, raising ducks and tending gardens here and have farm fresh products that are seasonally available to guests just ask!

Absolutely loved staying at Collective Spaces this weekend. The land is beautiful and there are so many great trails to wander. The overall space and especially the night sky is immense, and you feel as if you’re removed from any hustle or bustle. With the rolling hills around the back of the property, the views are like soft curves of earth dotted with groves of distant trees. I can’t wait to go again!

I’ve been able to visit this piece of land several times. I enjoy the privacy, the dark certified night sky, the howls of distant coyotes as I fall asleep at night along with night birds I don’t hear anywhere else. The river runs nearby and there are trails to explore where you’re the only person.
The nearby composting toilet certainly makes me feel more civilized 😝 I have my own stove, but the kitchen setup is great if you need it. If you’re looking for a private, quiet, star filled spot to explore the wilds for hours and be unhindered, this is a sweet spot to rest. Being water, food (or go to town 10 minutes away!), shelter and you’re all set for a great time. As a female I felt very safe. I’ll certainly be back.

Weekend Trip to Twin Springs Tiny House
My partner & I loved our winter weekend here! Host was super accommodating. We’re super grateful for his help in getting our stuff to the cabin since our Civic wouldn’t have gotten that far into the property in the current snowy/ rainy conditions. The cabin itself is tucked away into a wooded area on his property, it’s like you enter another world once you pass over the little bridge. There’s a fire pit, generator, & outhouse. The cabin is very small but perfect for a couple or a little family. There’s pillows & blankets but we also brought a couple extra blankets, which I’m glad we did. The wood burning stove did a fairly good job of keeping us warm during a 20ish degree night except that it’s pretty small so be prepared with smaller pieces of wood or firelogs which burn slower. Host also provided a good amount of water, camp stove, random cookware, etc. Quite well stocked place. We didn’t get to meet the host but we did see his adorable dogs on our way out so that was awesome :) overall the vibes were wonderful

I loved everything about it. Came with 2 kids (age 6 and 10). Spent the night. Enjoyed the wildlife (cows, donkeys and sheep) and the firepit. The house was heated with great facilities as described. Would recommend.

Weekend Trip to Heart and Soil Homestead
The cabin was great for our trip. My two sons and I enjoyed the rustic feel of the cabin and the isolated feel of the property. The hosts were super responsive and kind. I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

Great spot for us to stay and refresh! We only stayed one night but we were able to use the full hookups to take showers, etc. after being on the road a good while. Peaceful, private spot in a field. Kerwin guided us in and was very friendly and accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer, definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to Twin Springs Tiny House
Best weekend ever! Clinton was a great host, and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin is super cute, clean, and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend to unplug and unwind! If going in the middle of winter with a few inches of snow (like us), bring a few extra blankets. We had brought some extras and stayed plenty warm. Would definitely go back!

Beautiful setting on quiet farm. Nice concrete pad next to hookups was easy to park on and convenient. The bathhouse is a nice amenity. All in all a very pleasant experience.

This was such a cool skoolie! I surprised my son with an "adventure" on our way home from FL. This was a hit! Cozy. Nice land. I saw a family of 11 deer! And my little dog loved the nature walk. Nice warm bathroom at the house. Private, clean and warm.
I think we loved the little wood-burning stove the best! My son (22) slept in the bedroom which was like a quiet cocoon. I slept on the pullout couch which was way bigger than I expected and mostly comfortable. Everything was easy to use, especially with the handy "welcome" booklet. I would definitely stay again.

This is a rustic little spot about 15 minutes off Rt. 460 in central VA. No amenities, so bring everything you will need, but Merritt was responsive and quite hospitable. The land is privately located among a small hardwood tree grove, but has nice pond views to one side and fields on 2 other sides. Merritt and his wife are lovely people and fascinating to talk to.
