Experience a cozy, rustic stay in our converted school bus, nestled on 5 acres of woods including a private creek. Thoughtfully designed for a simple, comfortable getaway, it's packed with charm and everything you need for a unique glamping experience. Visit the friendly chickens, spot the gnomes on our private woodland trail, relax by the fire pit, and enjoy nature all around you. Just 5 minutes from Pocahontas State Park (pass included) and 30 minutes from Richmond. Our skoolie comes equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, but please read the full description to make sure this is the right experience for you! Please note the interior height is only 6 feet. *We are located in the woods with ticks, bugs, and other wildlife. We have provided bug spray and highly recommend you treat your dogs for ticks before arriving. *Beds Queen-sized bed in the back and the couch bed folds to a size slightly smaller than a full mattress, with bedding included. *Full Kitchen Gas stove top. All kitchen utensils included. Kitchen sink with hot water. *Bus Bathroom Composting toilet- for urinating only. *Main House Full Bathroom Full bathroom, shower, and laundry. If you are not comfortable with a 150ft walk to use the bathroom facilities, this may not be the ideal booking for you. *Electricity Has 2 USB outlets and a standard wall outlet. Wifi is available. *Heating/Cooling A/C unit for summer. Diesel heater and wood stove for winter. *Outdoors Large charcoal grill (charcoal not provided). There is plenty of firewood to collect in the woods. Look for the gnomes and follow the trail from the campsite to the creek. Feel free to check out and feed our chickens! *Pets All pets are welcome! We do have a dog who is not able to access the camp area. Keep your dog on a leash unless able to come when called. Don't leave pets unattended for long periods of time. *Guest access You will need to drive on a dirt road and over small roots to access the school bus. Cars are able to access the bus without difficulty. This was such a cool skoolie! I surprised my son with an "adventure" on our way home from FL. This was a hit! Cozy. Nice land. I saw a family of 11 deer! And my little dog loved the nature walk. Nice warm bathroom at the house. Private, clean and warm. I think we loved the little wood-burning stove the best! My son (22) slept in the bedroom which was like a quiet cocoon. I slept on the pullout couch which was way bigger than I expected and mostly comfortable. Everything was easy to use, especially with the handy "welcome" booklet. I would definitely stay again.

it was a pleasure to camp at the creekside cool bus! the whole experience came with ease, starting with great communication from chloe, the skoolie provided everything we needed (& more) for a cozy retreat into nature. there was plenty to explore, a gnome lined walking trail along the creek and a short drive to the state park. the campsite is isolated enough to have your own privacy but close enough to access the full bathroom. it really was the perfect place for reconnection with each other and nature.

This is a unique place to stay with lots to do all around it. The bus was well equipped with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful quiet vacation or long weekend. Hosts were excellent and very friendly! The property and creek were fun to explore. I highly recommend this location and will definitely be returning.

We had a great time camping at the bus. We brought our elderly father for a day under the trees. The bed in the camper is comfortable. The kitchen is well laid out. We stayed one night and slept well.

Impressive luxury feel! Comfortable bedding, beautiful design, full house bathroom (separated by locked door from rest of home), and bus bathroom for #1. Electricity and running water in the bus, and a flipbook with the origin story of the bus, and restaurant recs including Hidden Wit Brewery where we enjoyed music bingo while the kids ran around a play yard with new friends. A peaceful trail on the property. Recommend!

Fun set up - very organized and clean. In a neighborhood setting but the creek and small trail was perfect for our stay. Like getting out in nature without any of the hassle. Very quick communication too. Great people, great bus. Would def stay again.

The bus was such a nice cozy stay! It is a smaller space, but slept 3 really comfortably. The hosts were very responsive and provided instructions for check in and check out! We had a great time exploring the woods and enjoyed the back story on how the Skooolie came to be!

My girlfriend and I came for the weekend with our dog, and I would 100% recommend. The decor on the inside of the bus was beautiful. All the necessities (dishes, towels, etc.) were provided. We used the pass for Pocahontas park, the closest parking was 5 minutes away and had some really nice trails. Claire even met us when we arrived and gave us some fresh eggs!

Such a lovely setting. It feels very private. The creek and trail are wonderful. And the bus interior is right out of Pintrest. The master bed was super comfy. We slept late in the morning because the bed felt so nice. Cameron and Chloe are so nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

This was a great stay. It was me and my partner, our dog and friend of ours. Definitely tight quarters inside (which is to be expected) but really surprisingly comfortable. The beds were great. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive. 10/10 will come back.

Chloe’s land was very peaceful and beautiful. Everything was cozy and well set up for us, with everything we could possibly need. Our dogs loved playing in the creek plus the trail created with gnomes along the way. Me, my wife, and two dogs loved our stay, and will consider coming back!

Chloe's place is a gem! The place and features are as described, with very specific instructions included for arriving, how-to's and surrounding things-to-do. Prior to arrival Chloe responded quickly to questions about the place/amenities. We met both hosts upon arrival and they were very hospitable. The creek was great for my 4yr old to play in and had a little trail down to the water, which was marked by adorable gnomes!

I really enjoyed walking around the creek trail, as well as firewood ready to go in the pit before I even got there. Chloe gave great in person instructions about the ins and outs about the bus, and there was plenty of helpful written instructions if I forgot. I knew the bus would be in their backyard but it was still quite private. I would definitely come back.

This was such a fun overnight trip for my family! Everyone loved the bus and had fun walking the creek side trail through the woods. After enjoying a hike at Pocahontas State Park, we relaxed, had dinner, built a fire, and played cards under the string lights. We all slept well and were really pleased at how comfortable (and functional) everything was!

We had an absolutely spectacular experience at the Creekside Schoolbus! It was a celebration for my wife’s birthday and we had plenty of space for kids and cookout. Hosts were wonderful and the property is a real gem tucked down behind their backyard. The bus converted to camper was clean, comfortable and was a pleasure to stay in. We hope to enjoy this site again next year.

What a great experience! The hosts are very welcoming and attentive. There was communication from the moment the reservation was placed. They have set up a great relax spot and the kids loved the trails with the gnomes! The bus was awesome, and had everything you need stocked and ready. This was more of glamping than what I'm used to, but A great time! They have thought of entering everything to make your stay as comfortable, inviting and stress free as possible! Kudos to you all on your hard work, thank you for sharing the skoolie with us!

We had such a great time! My city slicker kids had a great intro to camping, and thought the skoolie experience, along with with the creek romping around our camp site, were the best. Chloe was kind, patient and hooked us up with everything we would need. The bus was extremely well thought out, organized, and made us feel like we were on a special adventure without having to sacrifice too much comfort. Would go back for sure!

Very cool set up, and great for easing my wife into the idea of "camping" 😉😅 It rained all night back was actually really nice sound and kept us asleep calmly until the morning. Woke up to several deer outside, will try to share. Actually thinking we might come back to this particular one without the kids next time and hope to get good weather so we can enjoy the full experience and the peace that it comes with. Very nice indoor bathroom with shower, private entrance was nice.

Our kids (4.5 years old) loved staying in the “Magic School bus”. They attempted to find the keys to turn it on a few times. It was a hoot. 🤣 the night we stayed was very rainy and listening to the rain drops hit the roof was magical. The hiking loop around the property was awesome! Lots of fun critters to see around the way.
