This was a 55-acre farm, split in half to accommodate a bypass through Charlottesville, so the previous owners had to give up half the land, and actually moved the house down to the other half of the property! They had to build a land bridge to get to the new home site, so they turned the bridge into a dam and created a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. My wife Stephanie and I bought the property in early 2017 and have turned it into a private horse farm, adding pastures, a riding ring, and 6-stall barn. My friend and I brought our pups up here for a night and can’t recommend it enough. The site is private, close to a few wineries/breweries, and has great views. Be sure to follow the 4WD guidance - we didn’t have to use it but I can see how rain a day or two before could make for an interesting drive up. The leaves this time of year also made it a bit slick. Overall, the campsite was exactly what we were hoping for and we’ll be back if camping in the area again!

Arrived after dark. The signage was not clear but quickly found a spot (open field) and set up camp. Didn’t download directions to Old Rag but found it quickly with directions from the lodge. Dinner buffet style at the lodge was fantastic. Overall a great camping adventure!!!

A group of four of us stayed at this campsite over the past weekend and had such a wonderful experience! The entire area was clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The porta-potties were pretty clean, and there were a good number of them stationed out by the front. Firewood was delivered to us by Levi's daughter which was a nice touch. When she wasn't around, we could easily grab a crate of firewood ourselves near the front and pay by Venmo or cash. The firepit that we had at our campsite was great, tall and had great air flow holes at the bottom and a metal grate we could use for cooking. The provided picnic table was nice and very wide. The campsite felt peaceful when we were sitting by the fire at night. The river near our campsite had a good amount of activity with people coming to fish for trout (which the owner stocks with plenty) which means we didn't have complete privacy during the day. However, our campsite's overall atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy nature. I would absolutely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable outdoor escape. The location is perfect, only about an hour drive from Centreville, VA which makes the camping experience so much better we didn't have to drive far to experience some wonderful outdoors. Lots of sites to see in the area with hiking so we'll definitely be back to do more activities.

In addition to camping, we got to help feed the animals both mornings and our kids were thrilled. Amazing!! The site was private and there was a fire pit which was great! The bathroom was easy to get to and had everything you could need! The property was so beautiful and we loved looking at the horses and donkeys!!

This site is named after the wooden table it has bear claw marks on it from one of our local black bears who visit occasionally.

The campsite was great for what we needed. Our dog enjoyed walking around the site and meeting the friendly horses. We're very low maintenance so it was a good match for our stay. The stars are super pretty at nighttime and the area is quiet enough to enjoy the camp. The locals were friendly and we felt very safe being here.

Graham's land was beautiful! The site was well maintained, flat and an even space for our truck camping. There was a nice picnic table at each site with a fire box and grate to cook on, all stocked with firewood and even kindling to get started. The river wraps around the sites with giant rocks and a steap forest incline opposite of the site. The hosts were incredibly kind and went far out of their way to help us out. The river was very refreshing (it froze last night) but we still enjoyed the semi polar plunge. It'll be a perfect summer spot with a sandy beach and great rocks to jump off into the water.

We enjoyed our stay on this property! The archers den campsite felt very private and had plenty of space. We loved the big fire pit with cooking grate.. The three campsites are far enough away from the winery/brewery that you don’t feel like you are camping at public business. Even though they had live music playing and seemed pretty busy we could barely hear anything going on. On the other hand if you wanted to enjoy the festivities it’s just a short walk from the campsites.

This was a perfect camp site!! Went with my family & took our two dogs. The dogs had a blast, plenty of space while still having some fencing around to keep them from being too crazy. It was private and the stars were great. Host was wonderful, everything was easy to find, and the bathroom was clean. It was daddy long legs galore but personally if i had to pick one bug to see a bunch it would be them. Harmless and on items more than people. Overall a great trip!!
