The Farm was originally named 2nd 4o by my parents. They planned to live the 2nd forty years of their lives together on the farm. My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas trees. This did not last long :) but the saplings my dad planted by hand are still here & maybe 70' tall!
Then my husband & I bought The Farm in 2017 for the 2nd forty years of our life & my parents built their little house right here. My husband and I immediately knew that our dream was to grow a different kind of "tree", so in 2019 we were among the first group to receive our license to grow hemp. We are passionate about both the hemp and cannabis plants!
In 2020 when it finally became legal to grow cannabis, we immediately added that to our garden as well and 2nd 40 to 420 was born, or shall I say planted. We currently rent out our 2 RV's 3 Yurts & primitive sites , we also offer group bookings & Canna-friendly B&B options. We plan to add septic & electric hook-ups for RV's in the near future.

Welcome to this historic place! We're glad you chose to stay on our property. Take a walk back in time down the path and see the old corn crib and hog pen, where hogs once helped feed our family and many others. Just beyond, on the right, are the remains of an old cabin that once housed the farm workers who tended this land.
Farther along, you'll find a block barn that was used to store tobacco before it went to market. Nearby stands an old tobacco barn where our great-grandfather and his four children hung freshly picked tobacco while small fires below cured the leaves.
Continue down the main path until you reach a fork. Turn right and head to the lowlands, where you'll find a cool, rock-bottom creek perfect for wading. Explore upstream or downstream, and you may even discover a deep swimming hole for a refreshing dip.
Follow the trail up the hill into the hardwoods and pines, where you might spot interesting rock formations. Across the road from the front gate and house, a path winds through the plantation pines and opens into an old farm field. Years ago, these fields grew tobacco, corn, beans, and hay for cattle.
Continue through the field and into the woods, keeping an eye out for Native American artifacts, as this was once their home as well. Beyond the trees lies the Hyco River, our property boundary. You can follow the river to the bridge or enjoy fishing and swimming wherever you find a safe spot, always at your own risk.
At night, you may hear coyotes in the distance, and in the early morning, wild turkeys calling from their roosts.
Please be respectful of other guests enjoying the property. With 400 acres to explore, there's plenty of room to spread out and make memories. Keep campfires contained within a fire pit and extinguish them completely with water before leaving. The coals should be cool enough to touch safely, with no smoke or steam remaining. We hope you'll enjoy our property as much as we do and help us keep it beautiful by packing out all trash when you leave.

I absolutely loved my time on the Land! Lucretia is a fabulous host. I arrived when it was dark and was so grateful for the arrangement of the space and how clear the parking spaces were. There's adorable little solar lights to outline the spots and the plants are arranged mindfully to highlight spaces as well. There's so many parks and historical places close by as well, which made for excellent daytime explorations. I'll definitely be back!

Woke up to a rooster and peaceful sunrise. All amenities were available as mentioned, such as RV hookups (electric, water, sewer). As a solo traveler, great option for me. Ideal stop at the Virginia - North Carolina border. Will keep as a future accommodation.

Great vibes on the land, and if you are into the world of medicinal plants, they are abundant! I had a great time spending moments with Lucretia by the fire and making medicine with her. There’s a converted school bus greenhouse and some trails in the back leading to a tree house. Lucretia has such an open, free-spirited vibe and the land reflects that! Khalid was out of town but I’ve met ju and he has such a sweet vibe as well! Hope to catch him the next one.
Perfect spot the park my truck and sleep and I checked out the Campervan, it’s SO AWESOME. Definitely stay there if you can. It’ll inspire you what you can do with a van set up. Hope to be back soon 🍄🟫

Camping at Lacretia and Khalid's land is such a beautiful vibe! I travel and live in a short bus and there was more than enough room to park and be comfortable. There's a fire pit that truly came in handy being that it was below freezing and while being outside we still were warm. 10/10 recommend to families and single travelers!!

Really nice spot just off country road for an overnight. Little road traffic in the evening so noise was not an issue. Plenty of room to maneuver and ground was firm and a reasonably level spot was easy to find. Host couple were super nice and was a pleasure to meet them. Would stay there again if traveling that way.

Wow! This place was absolutely amazing! Plenty of space! Tons of quiet and relaxing to be had! We had an amazing time in the lake, on the Mx track and horseback riding! Stephanie and her family are one of a kind hosts!
As a full time RVer and constantly being in campgrounds, this was refreshing! The space was wonderful as was the silence and to top it off, hook ups!!
Absolutely recommend!

We had the pleasure of staying at Catherine's place as their first HipCampers. The site is clean, level, and easy to get in and out. We have a small trailer, but the site is definitely big rig friendly. It was perfect for us. We used it as a base camp for going and doing things in the area. The site is parallel to a road but a good distance away. Cars go by very infrequently, and we never heard them when we were in our trailer. We also had plenty of space to walk the dogs.
The hosts were very nice and communicated with us in a timely manner with great information and made us feel welcome and comfortable. We would definitely love to stay here again.

We could not have asked for a better weekend at Paradise Farm. Such a beautiful setting and the most gracious hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. The horse back riding and fishing were highlights for us but there was so much for the kids to do outside. It tops the list of places our family has visited and we hope to go back very soon!

We were there for Blue Ridge Rock Fest, so we didn't get to truly enjoy this amazing place and I'm sad about it. It's absolutely beautiful and Stephanie was an awesome host. She was always very quick to respond and was very accommodating with an early check-in and late check-out. If we are ever in the area again, I would love to stay there again.

We had a great time camping on this absolutely beautiful farm. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. Cassandra gave us lots of information ahead of time that made arrival and setup easy. Her son Zac came by to welcome us a little later and we learned he has a butcher shop in nearby Tightsqueeze. We went by the next day and loaded up on provisions. We highly recommend skipping your normal grocery run before camping and heading into the shop instead for some amazing grass fed beef raised right on Harris Farms. Awesome experience all around!

It’s the little things that count. Unknown to the hosts we had a bunch of troubles along the way. Once we get settled, a goodie bag was handed to us and it contained drinks, fruit, and snacks.
The gesture was absolutely wonderful and needed. We were all hungry and still needed to run to the store and the light snacks were well received and yummy to boot!
We had the delight of hearing the horses a time or two on the morning. Which was a nice sense of home(we have four horses). We didn’t get the pleasure of meeting them.
Both hosts were very pleased willing to help us out. I highly recommend if your an animal loverlooking for the comforts and feeling of home. The little ole beagle is a sweetie and just loved the attention.
