The last 4 years of hosting have been an adventure! We’ve met many guests, listened to suggestions, and often worked all night on property improvements. We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce country life and the Shenandoah Valley to travelers from around the world. We love animals, planting gardens, preserving quality food, and hiking in both of the world-famous national parks here.
We built an all-season full capacity hot shower bathhouse with flush toilet, A-frame cabin, bigger electrical service, and wider road entrance for 30ft RVs, and Wi-Fi.
We are located 45 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park. If you are a hiker or outdoor adventure seeker, or just want to experience local culture and history, please reach out to us and we will help you plan your trip. The wooded area is next to my house. There's about 4 acres to explore and a gravel road rarely traveled for a nice walk to a view for a great sunset. Harrisonburg is 5 minutes from here and has lots of night life, micro breweries etc. I have long power cords if you need electric at the campsite. You may hear owls hooting at night. The campsite is under white pines with a thick bed of pine needles. There are several campsites under the red cedar trees that are naturally bug and mosquito resistant. Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away if you go to the 33 entrance and 45 minutes away to go to the Luray entrance. Lots of bears there and hikes to waterfalls. No hunting there. Solar panels provide half of my energy needs. GW National forest has lots of hiking and mt biking and is half an hour away. Great views of the mountains from the campsite area. I'm dedicated to having lots of native plants and trees. I do not spray any pesticides. Plenty of free firewood. Not too far off interstate 81. I give tours of the mushroom farm whenever the weather isn't below freezing. I don't recommend anything larger than a conversion van. Very small pull behind campers are OK . All campers are required to leave every day from 1 to 5. Belongings may be kept here. There is a bathroom inside the house. No showers , please guys relieve yourself behind a tree instead of tying up a bathroom .. Harpine Highway is nearby and does have some trafffic noise but it's not close enough to discourage most campers.

On the north side of the property, you’ll find our thriving fruit orchard with five varieties of apple trees, three types of peaches, three plum trees, two cherries, three pears, three persimmons, two pomegranate bushes, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, haskaps, Aronia berries, and even young chestnut and hazelnut trees.

Our campsite is located along a gurgling stream (Cub Run), perfect for wading in on hot summer days or falling asleep to as the evenings cool. Across the stream horses pasture, and in the field next to the campsite several goats graze. Camp is wooded acreage centrally located between Massanutten Resort and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Currently very, very basic with improvements happening weekly. Currently 2WD is okay and some clearance preferred like Outback sized vehicles over all. A van can fit in site #3 (The Vanner) but will take a multi point turns to come and go. Country vibe but close to restaurants, and outdoor activities near by making it a great base for activities such as mountain biking, road biking, hiking, skiing/boarding, and the floating/fishing on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. A safe / legal place to park for the night. SUP and Kayaks available free to campers upon request most weekends April 15 to Oct 15

Great site! It was amazing to sleep in an actual bed rather than the ground! Also hot water for a shower was amazing! The hosts were also amazing and brought us a heater when the temp was going to drop over night making us much more comfortable! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a large space with more comforts than usual camping!

The campground was well kept and had a lot of free firewood for us to use, Taz also took care of a wasp nest for us once we mentioned it to them. Will highly recommend this place. Also sidenote bring earplugs or headphones if you're going to sleep, the roads nearby are a sometimes busy at night.

What an EXCELLENT spot to camp. My family and I loved our night there. Kim and her family were so welcoming and kind. The campsite was private and peaceful--the only night noises were cows mooing, no generators or noisy neighbors! We will definitely book again next year when we return to the area. My wife and I enjoyed Annette's yurt so close to the river's edge; we could here the water tumbling over the rocky riffle located just down river while we slept. The yurt's layout and cleanliness made our one night stay a true pleasure and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

After a 5 day stay last year, it was a no-brainer to spend a night here when traveling through this year. We got pizza at the food truck, parked beside Elkton Brewery and had a tasty brew while waiting. Love the view and friendly hosts at Awesome Views. Thanks, and hope to see you again.

Taz is very friendly and open. Easy to communicate with and helpful. The property itself isn't really secluded and there's homes and traffic nearby so take note of that but if you need a spot for a night or 3 that's close enough to everything and an easy drive to the national park this is a solid choice
