In the lee of the Shenandoah National Park in Rappahannock County sits 200 acre Over Jordan Farm, home of Bean Hollow Grassfed, a grazing livestock operation that raises lamb, broilers, beef and pastured pork. It was the land of the Manahoacs, a Siouan-language Native American tribe. In 1734 it was part of 3,500 land grant and in early 19h century became Caledonia Farm, a property of the Dearing family. For the last 40+ years the farm has been owned by the Dietel family. As the stewards of this land we invite you to come meander down farm lanes, watch the wild turkeys forage, and, if you are lucky, see a red fox or wild bobcat. The views are Rappahannock's finest and the Appalachian trail is within walking distance (less than two miles up the "holler'' from the farm). Though only 70 miles from Washington DC, the County does not have a single stop light and dark skies abound. Upon crossing the Jordan River you will see a restored log cabin, our farm store, and a sandy beach with a swimming pond where guests may swim and picnic.
