Blue Ridge Yurts is a woman-owned company in Floyd, Virginia, started by my mother, Sharon. We were staying at Treebones, a yurt 'glampground' in Big Sur, California, and fell in love with yurts together. My mom said, "I think I could build one of these," and the company was born!

Looking for an affordable place to park your car, camper-van, or tent in Blacksburg? That's us! We are located 20 minutes from downtown Blacksburg and Virginia tech but with a country atmosphere and a view of the New River.
Our home is also home to three cats, a dog (who is fenced and quiet), chickens, and two peacocks. We would prefer you not bring an animal of your own unless it is leased at all times and well-trained.
We have a picnic table and a fire pit. We also have an electric hookup and a trash can on the front porch for your use. Our home and campsite have a river view, BUT NO river access. Please do not cross onto our neighbors' property! However, if you want to access the river, the New River Junction is .5 miles down the road and has tube rentals from late spring to early fall!
Our home is easy to find, turn from Price's Fork rd onto McCoy rd and follow it to the end (approx 7 miles). Turn right at the stop sign, and we are to the left of Big Falls in .3 miles. Our house is visible from the road and has a trampoline and chickens roaming.
Be aware, there is limited cell service and NO easily accessible bathroom. Pee jars and camp toilets welcome. You can use our toilet inside if we are home. There is also a train a couple of times a day. We think it's pretty quiet, but you be the judge! Happy camping!

Reconnect with nature in our pet friendly rustic cabin on 35 wooded acres with two walking trails (Blue trail 3/4 mile loop and Yellow trail 1 mile loop), 5 acre meadow and large spring fed pond with bass, sunfish and trout. Enjoy walks, fishing, abundant wildlife and night star-gazing with virtually no light pollution.
Cabin features great room with fireplace and wood stove, dining room, kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and two bedrooms. Downstairs you will find a bathroom, bedroom with a queen bed. Upstairs you’ll find one bedroom with a full bed and loft area with a twin bunk. It will sleep six comfortably, and linens are provided. Large back deck with gas grill and rocking chairs which overlook the meadow and it’s frequent furry and feathered visitors and mirrored pond. Bring marshmallows for the fire pit near the cabin.
The cabin is at 2600 ft. elevation but still can be warmer in summer months. It cools down to the mid 60’s to low 70’s most summer nights so we don’t have AC there. We do have WiFi.
Just five miles off the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and in the heart of the Blue Ridge Wine Region. We’re mid-way to the town of Floyd from Roanoke, and an easy 40 miles to Tech.
Historically the “Eggleston Place, built by hand by one of the original families of the area. It was part of a large farm which was divided many years ago into 25-100 tracts. If you cherish the call of the outdoors, enjoyed in rustic comfort, you will love Gobbler Knob.

Blue Ridge Yurts is a woman-owned company in Floyd, Virginia, started by my mother, Sharon. We were staying at Treebones, a yurt 'glampground' in Big Sur, California, and fell in love with yurts together. My mom said, "I think I could build one of these," and the company was born!
She does all the woodworking, using sustainable practices, with locally-sourced wood, and her best friend Kathy does the fabric end of things. I was one of her early guinea pigs, and love my yurt property dearly <3 This 24' yurt sits on a beautiful private acreage off an end-state maintenance road, with biking and hiking trails just a 20 minute drive from the touristy town of Floyd, Virginia. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. Looking for an affordable place to park your car, camper-van, or tent in Blacksburg? That's us! We are located 20 minutes from downtown Blacksburg and Virginia tech but with a country atmosphere and a view of the New River.
Our home is also home to three cats, a dog (who is fenced and quiet), chickens, and two peacocks. We would prefer you not bring an animal of your own unless it is leased at all times and well-trained.
We have a picnic table and a fire pit. We also have an electric hookup and a trash can on the front porch for your use. Our home and campsite have a river view, BUT NO river access. Please do not cross onto our neighbors' property! However, if you want to access the river, the New River Junction is .5 miles down the road and has tube rentals from late spring to early fall!
Our home is easy to find, turn from Price's Fork rd onto McCoy rd and follow it to the end (approx 7 miles). Turn right at the stop sign, and we are to the left of Big Falls in .3 miles. Our house is visible from the road and has a trampoline and chickens roaming.
Be aware, there is limited cell service and NO easily accessible bathroom. Pee jars and camp toilets welcome. You can use our toilet inside if we are home. There is also a train a couple of times a day. We think it's pretty quiet, but you be the judge! Happy camping!

Reconnect with nature in our pet friendly rustic cabin on 35 wooded acres with two walking trails (Blue trail 3/4 mile loop and Yellow trail 1 mile loop), 5 acre meadow and large spring fed pond with bass, sunfish and trout. Enjoy walks, fishing, abundant wildlife and night star-gazing with virtually no light pollution.
Cabin features great room with fireplace and wood stove, dining room, kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and two bedrooms. Downstairs you will find a bathroom, bedroom with a queen bed. Upstairs you’ll find one bedroom with a full bed and loft area with a twin bunk. It will sleep six comfortably, and linens are provided. Large back deck with gas grill and rocking chairs which overlook the meadow and it’s frequent furry and feathered visitors and mirrored pond. Bring marshmallows for the fire pit near the cabin.
The cabin is at 2600 ft. elevation but still can be warmer in summer months. It cools down to the mid 60’s to low 70’s most summer nights so we don’t have AC there. We do have WiFi.
Just five miles off the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and in the heart of the Blue Ridge Wine Region. We’re mid-way to the town of Floyd from Roanoke, and an easy 40 miles to Tech.
Historically the “Eggleston Place, built by hand by one of the original families of the area. It was part of a large farm which was divided many years ago into 25-100 tracts. If you cherish the call of the outdoors, enjoyed in rustic comfort, you will love Gobbler Knob.

Such a nice place well maintained very clean and very close to a lot of interesting towns, shops, and parks. Jodee was very friendly and helpful. Not a difficult drive very close to the interstate. Ciro’s pizza is great.

Myself, boyfriend and two pups had the pleasure of staying at the Wind Song yurt this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have asked for anything better! The place was stunning, stocked for all needs and a great getaway. Jodee was great at communicating with any questions with incredible timing. I highly recommend checking the place out for a mental check out for the views are spectacular. Thanks for a memorable trip!

This was an introduction to camping for our six year old, and he loved it! The yurt and campsite came with everything we needed to enjoy the outdoors while having creature comforts, and the communal trailer was nice to have to check-in with family. We didn’t need anything, but the camp store was also stocked with bare essentials in the event you leave something behind. The site was very private, and Beau, Leah, and the other guests were friendly. We hope to make it back to Beaverfalls again!

Weekend Trip to Beaverdam Falls
The entire property looks well run, the waterfall is pretty & you can hear it from the text, It was very moist out, as expected this time of year. We paid extra for bedding & it was totally worth it to arrive with the bed made. The bedding was perfect, very comfortable. The only negative at all is the text does have mold & just needs a routine power wash, not a big deal. Would definitely recommend! The leaves have started to change at that elevation and it was gorgeous!

The bear camper had everything guests would need for a getaway in the woods such as air conditioner, space heater, extra blankets, camping area/seating and TV. With no cell reception and wifi, it was a true unplugged experience.
The farm also had many types of animals - donkey, peacocks, pigs, hens, cats and goats. Guests being able to pet and feed them was really fascinating and fun!
Farm fresh breakfast in their marketplace was great as well.
It was a bit of a hike to the camper and was challenging to carry luggage from the designated parking. Specific parking should be provided near this camper (on the hill).
Overall, a great experience away from home. We would love to come back and visit.

It was a perfect spot. You literally are sleeping on top of a waterfall. You can hear it at night with and without the windows open. perfect spot for a campfire and grilling food which has a grate. They even have a community space that has an oven and things too if you prefer to cook that way, I hung twinkle lights all over the place to give it a cute feel and also the community space they offer free coffee and they also have snacks and other items to purchase. The cave was neat to explore on the property! You can even sit at the bottom of the waterfall and have a picnic or just hang out, you can even swim in it too! At the cabin they even made a trail directly to it for those that stay in this cabin. The space was perfect at the cabin for my dog. I had him on a 20 foot lead and worked out perfect.

This was a most excellent stay in the magical river yurt! We could have had a better time. The people in the area we so friendly and there is so much to see and do.
The yurt itself was so fun to stay in. The hostess had absolutely everything that we would have needed for our stay. She thought of everything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mother Earth and our dog did too. Beautiful views , peaceful very secluded with all the comfort of home. We love the way they set up the yurt really cool how they decorated and designed it inside and out, romantic and fun, nice fire pit with wood provided, wrap around deck with hot tub and seating picnic table & rockers, spacious bathroom, very clean, we would definitely go back and highly recommend.
