Wise Pines is a holistic and sustainable Inn/Hiker Hostel with a unique farm stay experience. It sits on 40 acres of land with wooded trails and a pond to sit by. We have a veggie garden, fruit trees, chickens, and ducks. *electric fencing is LIVE!* We utilize solar energy and have energy efficient rated buildings. The owners of the property, Chelsey and Jon live with with their two young kids and dogs on the premises. The dogs are unleashed and friendly (though they will come running and barking loudly to say hi)! We have a yoga studio and offer classes upon request. We have many games for you to use, a bluetooth movie projector, walking trails (sometimes needing a bit of maintenance), a fire pit and grill. The property is in the woods rustic woods of Vermont, amongst all of its seasons. Please note that we do our best to maintain the property as weather arises, but the walkways, some of which are a bit steep, may be snowy, icy or otherwise. Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. We love camping, and when we decided that state campgrounds and the like were just too busy, we found this amazing, secluded property on a small lake with no public access. There is a cabin on the property, which is available for limited rentals. However, we have a great flat yard just a short (2 min) walk to South Pond thats perfect for a tent. There's a rustic outhouse, fire pit, picnic table, and usually games like badminton setup. Our property is a couple miles down a private dirt road. Fishing is great (with a license of course), and the water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.

In 15–25 minutes, you can access three different ski resorts and two cross-country ski centers. There is state land across the street and excellent mountain biking on both sides of the gap—in the Mad River Valley and Northfield. You can find river swimming all around, and Blueberry Lake is less than 15 minutes away. In less than 20 minutes, you can be on the Long Trail.

This was a very old dairy farm owned by the Duntley Family. Old farming equipment dispersed throughout the property. An old foundation from a sugaring house. Beautiful old rock walls. Deer and wildlife galore. Pitch your tent or bring your camper to our 150-acre working farm oasis. Beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains. Easy drive to great hiking spots. Easy access in Essex for the ferry to Vermont. Lake Placid, high peaks 30 minutes. Or just relax at your campsite with a fire. There is a water spigot to the left of the big brown metal building with easy access with the driveway in front of the building. Wise Pines was a lovely off-the-beaten-track place to stay near Woodstock. Incredibly comfortable bed and clean amenities. My dog and I enjoyed walking the beautiful gravel road and hanging out in the common space by the fireplace. Definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Quiet Green Mountain Lake Camp

It was a great location to the pond. The addition of the kayaks made it even better. The cabin is cozy with the wood stove and perfect for our family. Loved the outdoor shower. The fire pit was perfect for making s'mores on the clear night among the stars. As I spent our last morning looking over the water with a loon swimming by fishing for breakfast, I realized that there is a reason this place is called Eden.

Weekend Trip to Wise Pines

Our weekend at Wise Pines was an incredible experience. The lodging and ammneities far exceeded my expectations. Private rooms had fans and sound machines, very appreciated for the moms in our group enjoying undisturbed night sleep. The bunkhouse offered comfortable accommodation and our group loved the drawn curtains for each bunk. The treehouses were a joy to stay in, very comfortable and cozy. We booked the entire property for our weekend trip and spent a lot of time in the lodge enjoying the art books and games, as well as utilizing the stunning yoga studio for our own restoration. The space offers yoga classes as well! Highly recommend a trip to Wise Pines whether you're a solo traveler/hiker looking to connect with others or a group seeking a restorative nature getaway.

2 nights at Stone City

What a wonderful place to unwind from the world. No cell service, just WiFi at the main house. The sound of the babbling brook and the soft breeze is extremely relaxing. The treehouse is clean and comfortable. Even has a guitar and plenty of games and books to keep you busy. Or just sit with a cup of coffee or tea and watch the one squirrel peeking up from the rock. Heather’s place is well maintained and she is working hard to keep it clean and safe and all eco friendly. Highly recommended a good long visit.
