Weekend Trip to The Deer Crib at Flat Rock Farm

Deer Crib was a wonderful cabin to escape to. We were comfy and cozy the whole stay. Everything was easy to use and easy instructions were provided upon arrival. The spot feels private and secluded and really allowed us to disconnect from the craziness of daily life and just relax. We took advantage of the binoculars to spot some birds, and the grill to cook up a warm meal. The wood stove was also a welcome amenity to stay extra warm as the night got colder.

Weekend Trip to Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

We had the absolute best time at Salamander Hollow! It was downpouring the weekend we stayed, but the covered space by the pizza oven and the tipi kept us dry and cozy. Our dog absolutely loved having free rein of the land, the sleeping quarters were spotless, and the sauna was a lovely touch. We all left feeling happy and rejuvenated! Mary is an incredibly responsive and kind host as well, so we felt totally prepared for our stay. I would venture to say there are few camping opportunities like this in the area, and would recommend people stay here without reservation!

2 nights at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

My partner, dog, and I stayed at the Kula Bata Tiny Kabin. It’s one of the first cabins on the property, separate from the rest of the rentals. However, we ended up having the entire property to ourselves. It was fun to check out the other rentals and hike around the acreage. The pictures don’t do the cabin justice! This place is really lovely. You can tell it’s been set up with a lot of care for all who visit. The sauna was fun and we enjoyed the fire pit as well. You must take the hike to the farm store. There were so many farm goods for purchase. We got steaks and grilled them back at camp. They were DELICIOUS! Be sure to bring some foil and cooking oil with you since we couldn’t find either in the kitchen- plenty of spices and everything else you may need to cook though! All in all, it was a treat to stay here. Super unique spot that will leave you feeling rested and restored.

5 nights at Wise Pines

We had a fun time at the treehouse, exploring Woodstock and Quechee region. It was quiet and cozy. We had the place to ourselves pretty much, but Chelsey and John are great hosts. John even helped us with our tire! Not something you'd get at a Holiday Inn ;) Chelsey's book and story about hiking the AT was very inspirational to us. We also enjoyed her yoga class; it relaxed us. The place had everything we needed and was easy to navigate. I'd say it was one of the best places we've stayed on vacation.

4 nights at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

Salamander Hollow is such a magickal healing place. The location is hidden away in the gorgeous mountain filled countryside of northern Massachusetts yet is thoughtfully curated by the hosts to include just about everything you need. My wife joyously spent all 4 nights in the very spacious tipi (even in a storm) warmed by her campfire while I got cozy by the wood stove in the cabin with the pup, sampling sections of the wonderfully eclectic books that lined the walls while jamming to whiskey blues streaming from the provided Amazon Echo Dot. Mary is an excellent communicator and provided us with a full itinerary’s worth of information and nearby points of interest which was a tremendous aid. There is an amazing farm stand nearby that we bought raw milk, artisan cheeses, eggs and from. The sacred medicine wheel and prayer circle across from the lighted koi pond were serene places to ground, center and reconnect. Plenty of cooking options available: brick pizza oven (!!), gas grill, 2 burner electric stove, electric coffee/teapots, full size fridge/freezer - wonderful setup. Mary even gifted us with a jar of the most exquisite, exotic honey I have ever sampled. I started and ended my vacation days with a mug of chai sweetened by that liquid gold and splash of raw milk from Chase Hill Farm. Heaven on earth- can’t wait to return!

We had a great time at the dome. It was easy to access nearby trails and the town of Putney was fun. The site itself was comfortable, clean, and very relaxing. Plenty of necessities provided along with helpful small touches like the wagon to get your items to and from your car. Would definitely stay again.

I had an absolutely magical stay at Kula Bata Tiny Kabin InfraRed Sauna! The cabin is cozy and beautiful, and the sauna is such a nice feature, especially after a hike. The grounds around the cabin are beautiful, healthy, and peaceful, and there is deep meaning to all of the special touches in the woods around the place. I felt such a sense of flow in this place. It was healing, nourishing, and enlivening. I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Cabin

Not too hard to find. Road passable with AWD. Lovely, roomy almost new cabin. Wood stove did the truck, nice Solar LED lights outside and propane and battery lights inside. Decent cell service. Comfy beds. Nice outhouse. Everything you need except, water, food and a sleeping bag. The brook was roaring from snow melt and made for a nice white noise background. Many interesting things to do nearby.

There are two chairs in the tipi, which if removed at night, make floor room for four other sleeping bags. 'Forest Bathing' for miles! If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

Just past Mount Equinox is The Village of Manchester, which is home to the famed Equinox Resort and Spa. A former farm now a 150 acre forested retreat. Mt Ascutney, a 3500' monadnock is to the north and view in excess of 60 miles to the south. Dogs, we have inherited a dog that is not fond of other dogs. If you are coming to the pond or just walking by please let us know so we can make sure our dog is inside. Phone numbers on the wall of the cabin. The road has gotten quite rough with all the wet weather. 4wd with ground clearance is recommended. Total trip from our house is 320yd if your car is not up to the trip in. Curl up in front of the fire and relax. Marsh Billings farm museum in Woodstock has lots of Vermont Country store is close and Woodstock has unique shopping. Spacious one room camp, bunk bed, dinning table, and chairs. Sweeping view to the South. Swimming pond 5 minute walk. LP burner and some cooking utensils. Wood stove for those chilly nights. No electricity but LED battery lighting. l. Note that we do not charge a cleaning fee like some sites. We appreciate our guest leaving the camp as found. So far so good! Camp has the following: LP 2 burner cook top, pots and pans, dishes, flat ware, some spices and such. Fresh clean water will be at the camp when you arrive. The furnished jugs have been cleaned. If you still wish to bring your own drinking water please do so in reusable jugs. We are trying to limit plastic use. NOTE: Using GPS, Google map, or other device our address may come up as Perkinsville, Ascutney, or even Springfield even though the town is Weathersfield. Check the map and just confirm that Center Grove Rd is shown or called out as off of Weathersfield Center Rd. We DO NOT furnish wood for the outside fire pit. There is plenty of wood to scavenge on site. There is a small buck saw in the cubby. However if it has rained or raining you may want to bring kindling wood. We now have slab wood for sale if you do not want to rummage for wood in the forest PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN KINDLING WOOD FOR THE STOVE. Chunk wood is furnished for the inside stove. There is a splitting maul, snow shovel, and hatchet Check in and out times are flexible if no one is booked on either side. And last but not least if wedding bells are in your future your host is a Justice of the Peace and can perform wedding services!

Sweet Birch Herbals is a community herbal company offering workshops, apprenticeships, wellness consultations and hand crafted products including Full Moon Ghee. We grow organic herbs and ethically forage plants for medicine. Request a farm tour, herbalism class or any of our products for your stay here. Booking Rules and Information: - Check in: 3pm - Check out: 11am - Campers bring their own sleeping pads, pillows, sleeping bags, blankets etc to be warm and comfortable. - Bring all your own camping needs such as cook stoves, camp chairs, food, biodegradable soap etc. - Ideal for a couple or close friends as the space is small about 8x10' dimensions. - 3 gallons of drinking water provided in blue carafe at handwashing station. - No electricity or cell service at the off-grid hut. Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. Checking in during daylight hours is advised. Nearby, the town of Woodstock in only minutes away with cute shops and restaurants. There are many local hikes, national and state parks, the Quechee Gorge, white water rapids, The VAST (snowmobile trails), ski resorts and array of local events to attend.
